Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – Coming 2022

Whimsy, Wonder, and High-Powered Weaponry: 2K and Gearbox Entertainment Announce Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Coming in 2022

Bullets, magic, and broadswords collide across a chaotic fantasy world brought to life by the unpredictable Tiny Tina and featuring a star-studded cast

Sydney, Australia – June 11, 2021 2K and Gearbox Entertainment today announced that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – an all-new, fantasy-fuelled adventure set in an unpredictable world full of whimsy, wonder, and high-powered weaponry – will arrive on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in early 2022, during the fourth quarter of Take-Two Interactive’s (NASDAQ: TTWO) fiscal year.

In this epic high fantasy take on the looter shooter genre, players can create and customize their own multiclass heroes as they loot, shoot, slash, and cast their way through outlandish monsters and treasure-filled dungeons on a quest to stop the tyrannical Dragon Lord. Bullets, magic, and broadswords collide across a chaotic fantasy world brought to life by the utterly unpredictable Tiny Tina, who makes the rules, changes the world on the fly, and guides players on their journey.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a full standalone experience with a rich, story-driven co-op campaign for up to four players, as well as repeatable end-game content.

Wonderlands is a culmination of over a decade of on-and-off development at Gearbox Software towards a Role-Playing Shooter set in a fantasy universe,” said Gearbox Entertainment Founder and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Executive Producer Randy Pitchford. “For me, bringing actual Borderlands® guns to fight dragons, skeletons, goblins, and more in an original fantasy world imagined by the galaxy’s deadliest thirteen-year-old, Tiny Tina, as a new, full-featured AAA video game is a dream come true.”

Joining players for the experience are headstrong captain Valentine (Andy Samberg), rule-obsessed robot Frette (Wanda Sykes), and the beloved, bomb-chucking Tiny Tina (Ashly Burch), who serves as players’ guide through this extraordinary tabletop realm where rules rarely apply. During their quest to defeat the Dragon Lord (Will Arnett), players will meet a cast of lovable misfits like a lute-wielding Bardbarian and their very own Fairy Punchfather.

“Between the development talent at Gearbox and the undeniable star power of the cast, we couldn’t be more excited about this game,” said David Ismailer, President at 2K. “We’re always searching for compelling ideas and ways to build upon the strength of our existing IP, so we’re thrilled to help bring a passionate team of creatives together with a world and character that will surely resonate not only with our long-time fans but with new audiences as well.”

Gaming at Microsoft featuring Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, and Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox

Bringing the Joy and Community of Gaming to Everyone

by Will Tuttle, Xbox Wire Editor in Chief

At Xbox, our mission is simple: bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone on the planet. To achieve that, we aspire to empower everyone to play the games you want, with the people you want, anywhere you want.

Ahead of the first-ever Xbox and Bethesda Showcase on Sunday, when we will unveil our best and biggest games lineup of ever, Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella discussed the importance of gaming to Microsoft and in the world. We also shared new updates on how Xbox Game Pass is changing the way we discover, connect, and play and how Xbox and all games from its 23 studios are coming to more screens.

“We believe that games, that interactive entertainment, aren’t really about hardware and software. It’s not about pixels. It’s about people. Games bring people together,” said Spencer. “Games build bridges and forge bonds, generating mutual empathy among people all over the world. Joy and community – that’s why we’re here.”

“Gaming is fundamentally aligned with our mission as a company,” said Nadella. “When you talk about Xbox’s mission to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone on the planet, which I absolutely love, that is precisely aligned with Microsoft’s mission, which is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.”

“As a company, Microsoft is all-in on gaming. Gaming is the most dynamic category in the entertainment industry. Three billion consumers look to gaming for entertainment, community, creation, as well as a real sense of achievement, and our ambition is to empower each of them, wherever they play.”

“We believe that Microsoft can play a leading role in democratizing gaming and defining the future of interactive entertainment. There are really three key areas where we believe we have an incredible competitive advantage: First, our leadership in cloud computing. Second, the resources we have to build our subscription service, Xbox Game Pass. And third, our overall focus on empowering creators.”

Expanding on our quest to reach billions of players with Xbox, today we provided new updates on the success of Xbox Game Pass and what’s next for Xbox:

Xbox Game Pass is Changing the Way We Discover, Connect, and Play

  • Xbox Game Pass members play 30% more genres and play 40% more games. And more than 90% of members said they played a game that they would not have tried without Game Pass.
  • On average across the Game Pass library, partners see engagement go up by more than 8x when they enter Game Pass.
  • Whether it’s purchasing games inside or outside of what’s available in the library, or purchasing additional content for the games they like, members spend 50% more than non-members.
  • Xbox Game Pass has become a true discovery engine, a platform for connection and community, and is driving game sales. New insights we’re sharing today include:
    • Since we started our partnership with EA Play in Game Pass Ultimate, our players have been engaging with EA’s subscription service in a significant way. Compared to before the integration, EA Play has seen record usage on Microsoft platforms, driving hours played on these platforms up by more than 200%. As a result, EA’s incredible portfolio of games has reached and gained millions of new fans on the Xbox platform.
    • The new Square Enix game Outriders is in Game Pass and was also the #1 selling digital game on Xbox during its launch week and a top 10 selling digital game on Xbox in the month of April. Game Pass helped introduce millions of players to the game.
    • During launch week, MLB: The Show 21 was the biggest sports game of the past year on Xbox and the second biggest sports game of all time on Xbox. Game Pass added millions of new fans and grew Major League Baseball’s player base significantly. MLB: The Show 21 was also the #1 selling paid game on Xbox for the month of April.

Xbox and Xbox Game Pass are Coming to More Screens

  • Xbox is working with global TV manufacturers to embed the Xbox experience directly into internet-connected televisions with no extra hardware required except a controller.
  • Xbox is exploring new subscription offerings for Xbox Game Pass so more players around the world can experience the most immersive and fun games across devices, geographies, and financial realities.
  • Xbox is working with telecommunications providers on new purchasing models like Xbox All Access, which allows consumers to buy both a console and Game Pass for a low monthly price, rather than spending money up front.
  • Xbox is building its own streaming devices for cloud gaming to reach gamers on any TV or monitor without the need for a console at all.
  • Cloud gaming through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will launch in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan later this year.
  • In the next few weeks, cloud gaming on the browser will open to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. With Edge, Chrome, and Safari support, players will be a click away from gaming on almost any device.
  • We’re in the final stages of updating our Microsoft datacentres around the world with our latest generation of hardware, the Xbox Series X. This means gamers will see faster load times, improved frame rates, and experience Xbox Series X|S optimized games.
  • Later this year, we’ll add cloud gaming directly into the Xbox app on PC and integrate it into our console experience to light up scenarios like try before you download.

An Incredible Pipeline of Games

  • With more than 23 studios worldwide creating games for Xbox, our goal is to release at least one new, first party game into Game Pass every quarter. Role playing games, shooters, strategy titles, adventure games, and more are all being built by our first party teams to ensure that there is a steady stream of compelling exclusive content to explore.
  • Our independent developer program ID@Xbox has earned developers over $2B dollars since the program’s inception, with over 2000 titles launched and many more on the way. This model is now being used for ID@Azure, allowing independent devs to build cloud-based experiences. These programs bring new voices from diverse backgrounds into the world of game development.

As Phil Spencer noted when he opened the day, the team knows that achieving its mission is not going to be easy, and it has a long way to go. But he believes that only Microsoft can bring to bear the global scale, the vast wellsprings of technical innovation, the financial resources and the deep, decades-long legacy in video games required to truly bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone.

To learn more about the next, incredible wave of games you’ll be enjoying soon, please join us on Monday, June 14 at 03AM AEST for the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase.

Tribes of Midgard coming to PlayStation, 30th July

GEARBOX PUBLISHING AND NORSFELL GAMES’ TRIBES OF MIDGARD: DELUXE EDITION ANNOUNCES 30TH JULY AUSTRALIAN LAUNCH

Gather your Viking tribe for an epic journey

Sydney, Australia – 11th June 2021: The end is nigh, and it is up to you to save Midgard! Norsfell Games and Gearbox Publishing today announced the co-op action survival RPG Tribes of Midgard: Deluxe Edition will launch 30th July on PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®4 in Australia. Hack and slash through enemies, monsters and Jötnar (Giants), all to thrive in the wilderness as you collect the resources necessary to defend your village from a nightly invasion of Helthings. Your tribe’s might will be tested in two different game modes: a session-based Saga Mode and an endless Survival Mode.

Check out the trailer here

Grab your axe and pre-order the Tribes of Midgard: Deluxe Edition, featuring platform-exclusive armour, weapons and pets, available soon at Australian retailers for a suggested retail price of AUD $59.95.

Tribes of Midgard is set in the colourful world of the ancient Norse. Since the dawn of the Nine Realms, the Seeds of the World Tree Yggdrasil have protected and nourished Midgard – what we know as Earth. These seeds are now scattered and hidden throughout the realm. Ancient evils and enemies of Asgard seek to extinguish these flickering remnants of life to bring about Ragnarök – the end of the world. Your mission? Protect the Seeds, Viking!

You’ll take control of an Einherjar, a glorious Viking hero in Valhalla, hand-picked by the Valkyries to protect the Seeds and save Midgard. Tribes of Midgard is designed from the ground up with both solo and co-op play in mind, so bring as many as nine other Einherjar with you – the game automatically balances the challenge based on your party size. You’ll work together to bolster your defences, venture into the unknown wilderness, defeat monsters and Giants, and more! Choose among eight different classes and numerous combat styles to suit your playstyle.

Tribes of Midgard is the right kind of game for anyone who wants to test their Viking skills. People who want to play solo can face a great challenge on their own, and folks who want to play with friends will have a blast – we think we’ve found the perfect balance,” says Julian Maroda, Co-Founder, CEO, and Creative Director at Norsfell. “We’ve poured our hearts and souls into this game, and what came out is a bright, lively world with engaging, class-based co-op combat that players can explore and survive together.”

Tribes of Midgard key features:

  • An Ever-Changing World to Explore: A vast, procedurally-generated world filled with ancient relics, daunting dungeons and treacherous enemy camps. Midgard’s regions are home to unique weather effects that impact your survival, and during the game’s day-night cycle, fearsome foes emerge in the darkness.
  • Unique game modes:
    • Saga Mode: players build, craft and fight their way to the ultimate confrontation against epic world bosses before Fimbulwinter – the prophesied endless winter that signals Ragnarök’s arrival. This mode will receive seasonal updates that add new content, bosses and more on a regular basis.
    • Survival Mode: a survival-focused sandbox that challenges players with defending their village against a constant flow of enemies that become stronger the longer they survive. Parameters selected affect the Season XP earned. The World is saved when you exit and can be revisited.
  • Classic Top-Down Combat: Hack-and-slashing Viking action with an isometric look and feel, built in a stunning 3D environment.
  • Crafting and Building: Craft legendary gear, build structures to traverse difficult terrain and share resources with your companions.
  • Progression, Loot and Treasure: A rewarding progression system based on levelling up across eight specialised classes, crafting and looting stronger weapons and armour, and collecting over 30 different rune modifiers that can make you the ultimate Viking warrior.
  • Challenging Boss Battles: Giants that reign over the land with their terrifying stature will arrive at your village gates every few days. They can crush the underprepared in a single blow, so make sure you’re ready.
  • Seasonal Content: Continuous updates and seasonal content to keep Midgard fresh, maintaining an ever-evolving world that lets you live out the myth of Ragnarök in all its aspects.

Come, Einherjar – Midgard needs you. Valhalla can wait!

Sydney, Australia – 11th June 2021: SEGA® Europe Ltd. and Two Point Studios™ are excited to reveal that Two Point Campus™, the sequel to the critically acclaimed management sim Two Point Hospital™, is coming to PC and consoles simultaneously in 2022! Create the campus of your dreams, shape the lives of your students, and manage everything in between!

In Two Point Campus, you’ll be tasked with building and running your very own campus environment, where the decisions you make will shape the lives of the students you enrol and the staff you hire. For the first time, build in the great outdoors as you develop your very own campus grounds, buildings, and surroundings. Lay down dorms, pathways, hedgerows and more with new easy-to-use creative tools. The only limit is your imagination (and your in-game bank balance).

The fun doesn’t stop there! The people of Two Point County have slightly different priorities when it comes to education, meaning your students get to enjoy a wide range of hilariously unusual courses such as Knight School, where they’ll learn jousting and practise the noble art of chivalry. The less martially inclined can hone their skills in Gastronomy, and collaborate on all sorts of oversized culinary delights, like gigantic pizzas and equally humongous pies.

However, it’s not all about serious education – you’ll also need to nurture your students, explore their personalities, and fulfil all their wants and needs! Surround them with friends, help them develop relationships and make sure they balance everyday schoolwork with extracurricular delights like gigs, societies, and sports. Academia has never been more appealing!

“We hope that the incredible Two Point community will love all the new creative freedom that Two Point Campus will bring and that new players will be intrigued by its setting and the quirky world we’re trying to build, packed with our trademark humour and charm”, said Gary Carr, Co-founder and Creative Director at Two Point Studios.

Like Two Point Hospital, Two Point Campus is a charming, accessible, and deep management sim but now in a brand new setting.

NEW ENCASED TRAILER REVEALS FIVE DISIPLINES WITHIN THE GAME

DOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

NEW ENCASED TRAILER REVEALS FIVE DISIPLINES WITHIN THE GAME

FRIDAY, 11 JUNE 2021 Prime Matter and Dark Crystal Games have unveiled the new trailer for Encased, the upcoming isometric dystopian sci-fi RPG scheduled to release this autumn; you can watch it here

Set in an alternative 1976, a vast and inexplicable artifact – The Dome – is discovered in the remote desert and, inside, is packed to the brim with amazing technology that could advance humanity hundreds of years.

The catch, because of course there’s a catch, is that while living creatures can enter the dome, they can never leave; only inanimate and non-organic material can go outside of the dome. So once you’re in, you’re in.

The game, which will be a digital PC release on Steam, Epic and GOG, is currently in early access where users can experience all the first act and part of the second.

Timeline

Encased started out as a Kickstarter campaign in 2017 and has snowballed into something of an RPG epic.

Players start off in one of five disciplines – science, engineering, security, management or convict –  which affects both their initial stats, specialisation and opens (or prevents) unique dialogue within the game. After entering the dome and completing the initial level, a cataclysm happens that changes everything inside the dome.

We’re not going to give too much away #NoSpoilers suffice to say that the imperfect world under the dome becomes a dystopian challenge of quite epic proportions. And, as you would expect, is packed to the gunwales with quests, items, crafting and everything you would expect from a top-notch RPG.

Owing some of its spiritual inspiration to books like Roadside Picnic, the intent had been to release the game across all platforms but, as development progressed, it became apparent that the complexities and depth of the game meant the team needed to focus all their efforts on getting the first platform right and then looking at either ports or bespoke console versions after that.

Encased was one of the key reveals when Koch Media launched its new premium gaming label and will see Koch responsible for digital distribution, sales and marketing of Encased.
