River City Girls Returns to the Streets with Two New Games

WayForward announces the unstoppable combo of River City Girls 2 and River City Girls Zero

Valencia, Calif. – June 14, 2021 – Look out, River City! Independent game studio WayForward, in conjunction with co-publisher and IP holder Arc System Works, is elated to announce that the River City Girls are hitting the mean streets once again in not one but two knuckle-busting beat-’em-ups: River City Girls 2 and River City Girls Zero. An all-new entry in the River City franchise, River City Girls 2 is planned to arrive on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2022, while River City Girls Zero — a localized version of the 1994 title Shin Nekketsu Koha: Kunio-tachi no Banka — is currently scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch in late 2021 with other platforms to follow.

Picking up shortly after the original, River City Girls 2 once again put players in control of Misako and Kyoko — as well as Kunio, Riki, and other characters — as they set out on an all-new beat-’em-up adventure across the mean streets of River City. New moves, new enemies, new recruits, new environments, and the return of an old foe await, along with the same over-the-top sense of humor and adrenaline-pumping combat of its predecessor. The game will also feature two-player co-op action both locally and online.

River City Girls Zero, meanwhile, lets players experience the first time that Misako and Kyoko teamed up with Kunio and Riki to take to the streets in hard-hitting, curb-stomping action. While the graphics, music, and gameplay all remain true to the classic 16-bit Super Famicom release, this version marks the first time the 1994 game will be localized for the West. A new opening cinematic, new manga cutscenes, and new theme song by River City Girls composer Megan McDuffee have been added as well. Set out solo or team up with a friend in local co-op and discover how the River City Girls story began!

Alongside their digital versions, both River City Girls 2 and River City Girls Zero will be offered as physical releases from Limited Run Games. For the latest news on both River City Girls games, as well as information on other WayForward titles, please visit www.wayforward.com and follow @wayforward on Twitter and Facebook.

TOP GAMING BRAND TURTLE BEACH ANNOUNCES ENTRY INTO GAME CONTROLLERS AND GAMING SIMULATION HARDWARE AT E3 2021

Leading Gaming Accessory Maker Enters Two New Market Segments with the Groundbreaking Recon Controller and VelocityOne Flight Simulation Control System

White Plains, NY – June 14, 2021 – Leading gaming accessory maker Turtle Beach Corporation (Nasdaq: HEAR) today announced its entry into two large and rapidly growing gaming accessory markets – game controllers and gaming simulation hardware. At E3 2021, the Company revealed two groundbreaking products developed under its best-selling Turtle Beach brand and provided details for the all-new Designed for Xbox Recon™ Controller andVelocityOne™ Flight simulation control system. Turtle Beach’s entrance into the controller and gaming simulation hardware markets present two major opportunities for the Company to expand its reach by leveraging its strong brand and reputation for creating high-quality gaming hardware. These new products will provide gamers and simulation fans with first-to-market features and innovations designed to elevate their experiences. The Recon Controller is the first to pair Turtle Beach’s signature audio technology with game-winning controls. VelocityOne Flight is the complete flight control system, developed in collaboration with aeronautical engineers and pilots to deliver the most immersive, authentic, and modern PC and Xbox flying experience on the market.

“We’re putting the same expertise and energy that’s made us the best-selling gaming headset maker for the past decade-plus into creating controllers and simulation hardware that benefits gamers with a better experience as we continue expanding our business to deliver on our long-term growth objectives,” said Juergen Stark, Chairman and CEO, Turtle Beach Corporation. “These two new accessory segments add another $1 billion of global addressable market, with third-party gamepad controllers at roughly $600 million, and PC/console flight simulation hardware adding roughly $400 million in global market. Both of these markets are growing rapidly, and our entrance with these first products will be the start of an expanding portfolio into other adjacent PC simulation hardware categories.”

Stark continued, “We’ve grown our award-winning ROCCAT PC accessory portfolio and revenues significantly since expanding into the PC category with that acquisition roughly two years ago. Given that success, the exciting portfolio of Neat Microphones launching this year, and this expansion into the large game controller and gaming simulation hardware markets, I expect we could approach – or even be over – $100 million in revenues outside our historical core console headset business next year.”

“The Recon Controller lets gamers connect any wired 3.5mm gaming headset and provides exclusive Turtle Beach audio technology like our custom-tuned audio presets, and Superhuman Hearing™ which is our patented audio setting that helps you hear enemy players before they hear you, among other features. The Recon Controller is sleek, feels great in your hands, and is the perfect companion to the millions of Turtle Beach headsets being used by our fans playing on Xbox.” Stark added, “Microsoft’s Flight Sim 2020 astonished gamers and flight sim fans alike with its stunning visual quality when it debuted on PC last year, and with the game coming to Xbox Series X|S this summer we believe it will fuel a wider audience of gamers to explore flight simulation. As a pilot and flight sim enthusiast myself, after seeing the incredible visual realism of the game early last year and being very familiar with the existing hardware in the market, I knew we could design a better, more integrated and modern flight control product that flight sim enthusiasts would want. We hired a team with deep experience in flight sim hardware and developed a fully integrated system that works with Xbox and PC and provides everything a new flier needs, along with the capability and features that hardcore flight simmers want. For the great price of $349.95, there’s nothing else like it.”

“From the moment the Quest was announced, the requests from fans started to roll in for a dedicated version of our game, even though the thought of delivering a world as expansive as A Township Tale to a standalone device seemed crazy,” said Boramy Unn, game director, Alta. “We began the process last year, and now on July 15 we’ll be launching A Township Tale on Oculus Quest, bringing to life a fantasy we’ve had since we were children: To truly embody the RPG characters we play in a fantastical world.”

A Township Tale allows players to become master professionals in their new town by taking up the mantle of blacksmiths, woodcutters, miners, archers and warriors. Players can explore dangerous areas and recover crafting materials to improve their gear. With specialized weapons, levelling abilities and play-styles, unique parties are formed to delve into the deepest reaches of dark caverns.

Key Features

  • Physical Crafting Professions – Adopt roles and operate physical tools and stations, maximizing the spatial range of VR controls.
  • Levelling – Level up in specialized professions to unlock abilities in crafting and combat.
  • Online Multiplayer – Join each other on the adventure and level up different skills to form a unique party.
  • Personal Server – Oculus Quest players can start their own cloud-hosted server with an eight concurrent player limit.  (NOTE: PC and Quest will not yet feature cross-play at launch.)

Together is coming soon to Nintendo Switch. The new platformer invites you to have some cooperative fun

Together, a dynamic and colourful 2D platformer focused on cooperative play, will launch on 16th June this year on Nintendo Switch. This or next year Together will also hit PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Together is being developed by the Polish studio The Dust S.A. It will be published on Nintendo Switch and other consoles by Ultimate Games S.A.

Together is a 2D cooperative platformer. The game offers both a single player mode and a local co-op mode for two players. The creators have prepared a very diverse world, which has been stripped of its colours by the evil Mona Chrome. The player’s goal is to transform each level and fill the world with colours again.

“As the name suggests, Together focuses on cooperation. During the game, two players are connected by a rope and achieving the goals requires constant and skilful cooperation. The rope also helps during combat and while the characters may get disconnected, it cannot last longer than 5 seconds” – said Jakub Wolff, CEO at The Dust S.A.

Apart from the main theme of colouring the bleak world and the rope mechanics, the developers have also focused on, among others, caricatured characters with unique skills and a large dose of light humour.

“Together is a title that works best when you cooperate with others – either with friends and family. Four different difficulty levels allow you to adjust the game to your current needs, so the gameplay may be relatively undemanding or pose a considerable challenge” – indicated Rafał Jelonek, COO at Ultimate Games S.A.

Together – features:

  • a 2D platformer brimming with colours;
  • unique rope mechanics;
  • more than 20 varied levels;
  • dynamic cooperation;
  • 12 different characters.

The digital launch of Together (Nintendo eShop) is scheduled for 16th June 2021. Later it will also hit PC (Steam) and consoles: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Once A Bird is bringing their award-winning narrative adventure, Outsider: After Life, to PC via Steam on the 13th of July. You can get hands-on with Outsider: After Life in a demo which will be available from the 16th of June as part of Steam Next Fest.

Outsider: After Life PC release trailer:

Outsider is a thought-provoking adventure game that puts you in the (robotic) shoes of HUD-ini, a unique android who may be humanity’s last hope of survival. Journey with HUD-ini through an emotional story full of awe and wonder, shot in one continuous camera.

This galactic and cosmic adventure is fuelled by mystery, logically challenging puzzles, beautiful set pieces, and a captivating soundtrack.

Game features

Story-Focused Puzzles – Every puzzle is embedded into the captivating sci-fi narrative of Outsider: After Life. From restoring HUD-ini to exploring a now barren Earth, solving each puzzle will progress the story.

The End of Humanity Never Looked so Good – From the adorable HUD-ini to the sweeping vistas of an alien planet, Outsider: After Life visuals pop with striking colours and beautiful hand-animated set-pieces.

It Just Makes Sense – Gone are the days of using a rubber chicken as a zip-line. Every puzzle you’ll come across on your galactic journey can be solved with some mind-bending but fair logic.

Interstellar Adventures Need a Soundtrack – A sci-fi adventure needs a ‘stellar’ soundtrack, and Outsider: After Life is no different. The dark and atmospheric tones sweep in to really drive home some key story beats.

Outsider: After Life will be available on PC via Steam from the 13th July for $9.99/8.19€/£7.19. Accompanying the game release will be the stand-alone release of the Outsider: After Life soundtrack.
