NBA 2K21 – 2K Foundations Reveals Refurbished Toronto Lawrence Heights Basketball Court with Globally Renowned Artists The Weeknd and NAV

Expansion of 2K Foundations projects serves even more underprivileged communities with diverse programming across basketball, golf, music, and more

Sydney, Australia – July 8, 2021 2K Foundations, the philanthropic arm of 2K that supports and inspires underserved communities by directly investing in local enrichment programs, unveiled its latest project in Toronto this week. In partnership with the City of Toronto, HXOUSE and global artists The Weeknd and NAV, the Toronto Lawrence Heights Court has received a complete refurbishment that includes a new scoreboard, backboards, repairs to the court, and an art installation designed by award-winning, multi-disciplinary artist Ben Johnston and multimedia artist Trevor Wheatley.

“The support from 2K Foundations has made a huge difference to the children in our community who truly benefit from better access to play,” said Janie Romoff, Forestry and Recreation General Manager at Toronto Parks. “In a community that’s been greatly impacted by COVID-19, the impact of 2K Foundations’ contributions are invaluable and will motivate our kids to pursue their passions on and off the court once it is safe to do so.”

In addition, 2K Foundations will continue its investments in local communities through court refurbishments in partnership with globally renowned artists and athletes.

Throughout 2020-2021, 2K Foundations has grown its efforts to support a number of projects, representing communities around the globe and showcasing the program’s expansion to include career and learning initiatives, expanded access to sports through golf clinics and tournaments, community enrichment opportunities through music and upgraded studios, and much more: 

  • Cal Johnson Park Court, Knoxville, Tenn. – Refurbished two basketball courts designed in partnership with Chicago Sky forward Candace Parker and artist Erin Miller Wray that opened October 2020, and earned a Keep Knoxville Beautiful Orchid Award for Public Art;
  • Elencio Mercedes Sports Arena Court, Dominican Republic – Done in partnership with Boston Celtics power forward Al Horford, this new court is currently being installed and painted with the colours of the Dominican Republic flag;
  • Nechells Wellbeing Centre, Birmingham, UK – Partnered with the City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club, whose club ambassador is former NBA player Hakeem Olajuwon, to renovate the current facilities and enable them to offer more community projects. It is the largest basketball club in Birmingham and delivers over 80 hours of basketball sessions to over 800 youths each week in an ethnically-rich community, but underserved area of the UK;
  • Urban Ventures and First Tee, Minneapolis, Minn. – Introduced a brand-new program from 2K Foundations that looks to expose the game of golf to more Black and female youth in the area. The program provides green fees, lesson fees, and equipment to these minority groups to help them get exposed to career paths that may not have existed before;
  • Ace Kids Golf, Oakland, Calif. – 2K Foundations provided an opportunity for Ace Kids Golf to create its first-ever golf tournament in March 2021, with a second tournament that took place this past month;
  • Dryades YMCA, New Orleans, La. – Partnered with local youth art organization, YAYA, to create a music program with a mentor artist and young artist in training, as well as create a music lounge for youth, which includes a recording studio, instruments, and mixing equipment for them to create their own music. The program has also expanded to hosting art workshops for local youth that take place in the brand-new Dryades garden, providing a safe and creative outlet for students, with more support planned later this year.

Working directly with community leaders to address important needs, last year 2K also quickly implemented a Distance Learning Initiative, where iPads, high-speed internet and weekly educational lessons were provided to community centres in Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New Orleans, and Oakland. Families in these communities were greatly impacted by school closures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and these resources enabled them to continue their education in a safe setting.

Step into the burgeoning criminal underworld of Red Dead Online: Blood Money on July 13, and prove you are willing to get your hands dirty in service to some particularly notorious and well-connected members of Saint Denis society.

Blood Money
There are whispers in the alleys of Lemoyne’s capital that Guido Martelli — right-hand man and underboss to the infamous Angelo Bronte — needs gunslingers of strong constitution. Martelli is seeking to recover a valuable commodity known as Capitale. Originally devised as a unique system of exchange for more sensitive business dealings away from the watchful eyes of the taxman, it’s since ended up in the hands of nearly every lowlife across the five states. Now, Bronte and Martelli want it back — if you can find and return it, Martelli will reward you with access to more worthwhile criminal opportunities.

Martelli is purely focused on results — entry into this world of more civilized crime requires nothing beyond a trusty sidearm and the willingness to use it, and no upfront investment is required.

Crimes and Opportunities

Martelli has entrusted some of The West’s most reprehensible soldiers of fortune with leads on where you might find Capitale. Visiting these contacts will reveal an entirely new type of work known as Crimes. Crimes will range from cloak-and-dagger coach holdups to multi-stage robberies — including kidnapping, brutal debt collections, and more.

Embark on Crimes either as a lone gun or with a full Posse of cutthroats alongside you. During each outing, keep a keen wit and search high and low for signs of Capitale to return to Guido Martelli — including from hidden chests or on the remains of those who’ve crossed your path. As you traverse the plains in Free Roam, you may hear of unlocked Homesteads and vulnerable Camps, ripe for the picking and begging to be relieved of a Capitale stash.

Accumulating enough Capitale for Guido Martelli will reveal Opportunities. These are dispatched by Martelli in a scheme to stifle a rising Lemoyne senator who is disrupting Bronte operations throughout the region. Each Opportunity can reveal various approaches to the task at hand — listen into nearby conversations or look out for important targets to uncover new paths to completion and weaken the politician’s position by bringing each of the three Jewels of the West to Martelli. The first of three Opportunities is available on July 13, while two more will unveil themselves in time.

The Quick Draw Club

The Quick Draw Club is a series of four distinct rapid-fire passes, arriving in consecutive installments over the coming months. Purchasing each membership entitles you to rewards, bonuses, and items to help live life on the fringe of the law — starting with Dutch’s outfit, The Redcliff. With each consecutive pass you purchase, you’ll earn additional perks and rewards for continuing the journey.

Each pass will cost 25 Gold Bars, all of which you’ll earn back by completing the Pass’ 25 Ranks. As an added bonus, players who purchase all four passes will receive the upcoming Halloween Pass 2 for free.

Realms Deep, 3D Realms’ Shooter-Focused Digital Event, Returns August 13-15

AALBORG, Denmark — July 7, 2021 — Realms Deep, 3D Realms’s shooter-focused digital event, returns for a second year filled with world premieres and special guests, from Friday, August 13 through Sunday August 15, with a live show airing at 10:00AM PDT on August 14, on the 3D Realms’ Twitch channel

A Realms Deep Steam Sale will also take place from Aug. 13-15. This year, Realms Deep also includes “The Vault”, filled with talks, interviews, lessons and great discussions with some of the brightest minds in the first-person shooter industry. The Vault content will unlock throughout the weekend!

Prepare for three days dedicated to all the latest old-school shooters, newer shooters and everything in-between. Some non-shooters might even sneak in! Realms Deep 2020 featured 40+ games including the Hexen-inspired GRAVEN, Ion Fury’s Aftershock expansion, and Postal: Brain Damaged.

This year’s event plans to more than double the fun with 100+ titles worth of reveals and updates. 3D Realms invited their friends with announcements from Slipgate Ironworks, Devolver Digital, 1C Entertainment, Running with Scissors, New Blood Interactive, HYPERSTRANGE, and more.

Realms Deep returns with deep-dives, lessons, keynotes and discussions, with classic industry icons and legends as part of The Vault, throughout the weekend. These names will be revealed leading up to the show! Tune in to hear from a new generation of developers, like MK Schmidt (Star Explorers, Paradox Vector), Damjan Mozetič (Call of Saregnar), Scumhead (Vomitoreum), and many more.

In addition to some super secret debuts, expect updates on GRAVEN, dark-fantasy action adventure WRATH, and Ion Fury Aftershock. Ivar Hill continues to work with 3DR and prepares to provide exciting news on Core Decay, an immersive sim inspired by classics like System Shock and Deus Ex revealed at last year’s Realms Deep.

Just like last year, proceeds generated by exclusive Realms Deep merchandise available during the show all go directly to Child’s Play.

SYDNEY (8th July 2021) – Today, independent developer FuturLab released their first content update for Steam Early Access title POWERWASH SIMULATOR. Published by Square Enix Ltd, the latest update (0.4) features new ‘Challenge Mode’, additional cleaning jobs, and some all-important community requested quality of life changes. POWERWASH SIMULATOR lets players wash away their worries with the soothing sounds of high-pressure water. Players can build their very own power washing business and blast away every speck of dirt and grime that they can find. With a unique take on the simulation genre, POWERWASH SIMULATOR focuses on player relaxation and escapism. 

For players looking for a little more pressure, new ‘Challenge Mode’ invites you to fight grime in different scenarios; by washing against the clock in Time Challenge or testing your accuracy by using as little water as possible in Water Challenge. 

POWERWASH SIMULATOR can offer something for everyone, which is why we created ‘Challenge Mode’,” commented Lead Designer Dan Chequer. “With the deliberate exclusion of limits and time pressures in Career Mode, the new separate Challenge Mode evolved naturally to offer a light bit of competition for those who want it.”

That’s not all for the 0.4 Update! Get into the zen zone with more fantastically filthy things to clean; forage in the forest and help Hunter Lode clean his Treehouse, restore a well-travelled RV to its former glory and lend a helping hand to a ‘copter caked in ash!

Level Increase, 5th Job Skills, and Arcane River Special Content arrive July 6

LOS ANGELES – July 7, 2021  –  MapleStory M, the free-to-play mobile MMORPG for iOS and Android, is celebrating its third anniversary with a host of new features and content beginning with the latest game update arriving July 5 which includes the highly anticipated addition of 5th Job Skills and Arcane River Special Content and a level cap increase to 230.

5th Job Skills have officially arrived in MapleStory M, offering players above Level 200 that have completed job advancement quests, the opportunity to fortify their characters’ abilities by allowing them to upgrade from primary 1-4 Job Skills to use 5th Job Skills.

Unlike the initial 1-4 Job Skills, 5th Job Skills are divided into three different types – Shared Skills, Class-Specific Skills, and Job Skills, offering more diverse battle opportunities for characters and overall use.  

  • Shared Skills: Skills that can be acquired and used by any character regardless of Class or Job.
  • Class-Specific Skills: Skills that can only be used by a specific Class (Warrior, Magician, Bowman, Thief, or Pirate).
  • Job Skills: Skills that are limited to a specific Job, similar to applications with 1st through 4th Job Skills.

With 5th Job Skills acquired, access to the Arcane River area along with special Arcane River content is granted. The Arcane River provides advanced MapleStory M content including daily quests, the ability to boost Arcane Power and gain stronger Arcane Symbols which enable characters to boost their damage and deal stronger hits when hunting in the Arcane River area. The Arcane River also adds new daily quests which become available after the region’s story quests have been completed.
