Volcanoids received a major update just in time for the Steam Summer Sale. The update introduces new equipment, customization options, and a revamped ash mechanic.
There are new melee weapons for those preferring to get up close and personal in combat, including a hand mounted Saw Gauntlet. The dark mines are also now easier to navigate with the new flashlanght.
The drillship has more equipment and customization options. Players can now build healing devices, item dispensers, and turret control stations to help deal with incoming robot raids. Personally, I’m especially excited about the turret controls as I’d much rather stay inside the safety of the drillship than the riskier battle outside I experiend in the Volcanoids preview after the co-op update was released.
Finally, the ash mechanic has been revamped. Previously, ash would only cover the ground just after the volcano explosion, and not much was obscured. Now, thick clouds of ash will linger, obscuring vision and requiring the use of the new flashlights.
Volcanoids is currently on Steam Early Access for Windows PC.

Combat in SCARLET NEXUS mixes traditional melee weapons with powerful psionic abilities. Both Yuito and Kasane are able to use their telekinetic powers to throw environmental objects at enemies while also slicing them down with their sword or kunai attacks, respectively. Players will also be taking various squad mates from the OSF out on missions. These party members each have their own unique abilities that, when combined with Yuito or Kasane’s powers, offer powerful opportunities to exploit enemy weaknesses and gain the upper hand in battles. Experiment with different ability combinations and deepen bonds with your squad for more advanced and effective techniques.

FMV Game Receives Complete Restoration and Release with Additional Voice-work by Original Actor Timothy Bottoms
DENVER, COLORADO (June 25, 2021) — Today, publisher of retro-and-modern games, Ziggurat Interactive announced the upcoming release of the previously unfinished Atari Jaguar Full-Motion-Video (FMV) game, American Hero, for multiple digital platforms, and an exclusive physical release through Limited Run Games this summer. This lost gem is a true product of its time, complete with sleazy dives, lovely ladies, a brain-washing villain, and Golden Globe Award nominee Timothy Bottoms as the lead. Ziggurat has worked with Empty Clip Studios to reengineer the game from the ground up, including Timothy Bottoms’ return to his starring role with all-new voiceover recordings to complete the original script.
“With American Hero, we sought to balance conservation of the project’s original vision with editorial restoration wherever game assets were incomplete,” said Matt Shores, CEO of Empty Clip Studios. “We feel that this was the best approach to resurrect the game and allow players a chance to experience a title that was never released to the public.”
Written in the 1990s, American Hero is a satire of over-the-top 80’s action films which has itself aged into a caricature of 90’s cinema. “Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World” is a horizontal scroll action RPG in which the original staff of the time re-created “Monster World IV”, which was developed by Westumbit Entertainment Co., Ltd. and released as a megadrive version in 1994 as the final work of the “Wonder Boy” series released by Sega Co., Ltd. (sega enterprises co., ltd.), under the leadership of Ryuichi Nishizawa, the parent of the series, was fully remade in a modern style.
The Story This is Monster World. Asha, who has just become a warrior, is involved in a serious incident involving the kingdom’s existence. Four spirits were trapped by invaders who plotted to make this world their own. Asha, who was ordered by Queen Prapril to rescue the spirits, set out on an adventure with Peperogu, a mysterious creature she met in the royal city of Rapadana.
