VR Game SWORDS of GARGANTUA Announces Plans to Launch Tesseract Abyss 2 Expansion August 5

Prepare to blast and slash with the brand new Tesseract Abyss 2 update, coming soon for Oculus Quest and PCVR!

TOKYO – July 6, 2021Thirdverse revealed today that the Tesseract Abyss 2 update would be coming soon to its renowned VR sword-action game SWORDS of GARGANTUA. In December 2019, Thirdverse released the original Tesseract Abyss Adventure Mode expansion to much fanfare and rave reviews. This newest expansion, Tesseract Abyss 2, will be sure to provide SWORDS of GARGANTUA players with hours of sword-wielding multiplayer battle!

In the Tesseract Abyss 2 update, players will be faced with three new enemies – including a massive new foe, Galossus – while traversing through newly designed, more challenging and strategic battles that will put even the strongest warriors to the test. Tesseract Abyss puts players into the deepest layers of the 4D space known as the “Tesseract”. By using weapons and coins earned by playing this mode, players (single or multiplayer) will be able to continue into the abyss, gradually becoming stronger through equipment and abilities.

Masaru Ohnogi, Co-Founder and CBO of Thirdverse, said: “We have a very active and deeply dedicated community, and through their direct feedback we created Tesseract Abyss 2, featuring more challenges and enemies than ever before. Additionally, we heard from players that one of the most attractive features of the game is our sword combat, so we really pushed ourselves to create the best sword combat system and overall gaming experience for our current players as well as newcomers to SWORDS of GARGANTUA, and we can’t wait to see how players respond when we launch in August.”

SWORDS of GARGANTUA is a VR sword-action game you can experience in single-player mode or online co-op with up to 3 other players on Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, HTC Vive, HTC VIVE COSMOS, Valve Index and Windows Mixed Reality devices. Players make use of various weapons and abilities to take on difficult battles along their journey. A wide variety of weapons are available, including one and two-handed swords, axes, maces, boomerangs, shields, and more. While in-game, players can use voice chat to communicate with fellow warriors while taking on enemies.

Key Features:

  • New Challenges in Tesseract Abyss 2: Defeat three new enemies while traversing through the new, more challenging battles that await you in the Abyss.
  • Realistic VR Swordsmanship: Swing, stab, crush and parry. Wield dozens of discoverable weapons and fight your way through 101 floors of enemies hell bent on stopping you from reaching the colossal end-boss, Gargantua.
  • Rogue-lite Action: Each play through gives different floor advancement choices along the way; play it safe, but it’ll take more battles to reach the end, or skip to a deeper level and be cursed with major disadvantages and debuffs while fighting tougher enemies.
  • Character Progression: Keep all the weapons, items, coins and stat upgrades collected through each play permanently. Take excess weapons and combine them to make stronger versions to aid in progressively difficult battles.
  • Co-op Multiplayer: Play with up to three other adventurers. Call the shots with native voice chat and defeat the mighty Gargantua.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister released the Steam version 1.0 on May 27 and has seen consistent positive media and user reviews. The Sorcerer class update is the first major update since release. Players can expect to see the update go live on July 13th.

Lemnis Gate PC Beta Begins July 22

It’s Almost Time! Lemnis Gate BETA Confirmed for July 22-26

Lemnis Gate Developer Diary Shares New Details on BETA and Ways to Play

Cambridge, UK – July 6, 2021 Frontier Foundry, the games label of Frontier Developments plc (AIM: FDEV, ‘Frontier’), and Ratloop Games Canada today shared in-depth details on what players can expect in the upcoming BETA. Going live from July 22nd to 26th, the five-day event marks the first ever time PC players can jump into the action and experience the cerebral intricacies of this turn-based strategy shooter.

The BETA will feature four maps and two game modes, offering players a taste of the tactical challenges that await them in Lemnis Gate. Retrieve XM, the first of two modes available, takes place across the maps of Tectonic Wells and Quarry. Players will need to leverage these varied landscapes as part of their strategy as they compete to collect the most Exotic Matter (XM) before time runs out. Domination is the second mode available, where players will seek to outwit and outsmart the opposition as they compete to control territory across the maps of Chimera and Arbor.

In both modes, all seven Operatives are available to select. Players can deploy the likes of robotic Operative KARL, poison-spewing Toxin, and time-slowing marksman Striker as they devise innovative strategies to outthink and outmaneuver opponents. With the match’s competitors each rolling out a new Operative at the beginning of every 25-second round, there’s plenty of scope for tactical geniuses to devise incredible game plans spanning multiple timelines.

In addition to battling across various worlds, players taking part also have the opportunity to unlock exclusive operative and weapon skins only available through the BETA. Any skins unlocked during the BETA will carry over to the full game at launch.

Alongside the BETA news, Frontier Foundry also unveiled their latest developer diary, delving into the many ways to play in this tactical, turn-based time-twister.

Join Game Director, James Anderson, and 3D Artist, Corey Kasperski, as they take a deeper look at Lemnis Gate’s four tantalising game modes; Retrieve XM, Domination, Seek & Destroy and Deathmatch, each of which puts a unique spin on FPS staples thanks to the innovative 25 second time loop mechanic at the heart of Lemnis Gate’s gameplay. In addition to the game modes, players will also learn about the various match types available. For solo players there’s the 1v1 match type letting them battle it out to determine who has the greatest team of operatives, while for those who believe two heads are better than one there’s the 2v2 match type that lets two teams of operatives face off as they battle over the objectives. Both modes offer players the option to play either turn-based or simultaneous turn-based, where teammates will play together on the same turn. All of these modes and match types will be available both online and offline. Through Lemnis Gate’s offline mode, players can also play with their friends via a “pass the controller” option, and strategise alongside each other in person.

Lemnis Gate is available to pre-order today for 20% off the suggested retail price of $19.99 from Steam, Windows Store, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store. Pre-order will also unlock the exclusive KARL operative and weapon skin, Mettle Mantis.

STATESPACE PARTNERS WITH NEUROTECH INNOVATOR, KERNEL

STATESPACE PARTNERS WITH NEUROTECH INNOVATOR, KERNEL

Partnership Aims to Quantify and Enhance Gamers’ Peak Mental Performance

NEW YORK — July 6, 2021 — Statespace, the publisher of Aim Lab, the ultimate skill training and player development platform for first- and third-person shooters built by neuroscientists, announced their partnership with Kernel, who has built a revolutionary non-invasive brain interface. This interface, Kernel Flow, will be worn by gamers training with Aim Lab software to record neural activity, showing the relationship between gameplay and brain function. The science and technology behind Aim Lab and Kernel will launch a new era of professional gaming, brain wellness, and mental fitness, based on neuro quantification and lays the foundation of a new era of Digital Health.

Excelling in competitive video games and esports demands more than just quick fingers. A first-person shooter game, for example, engages the visual system of the brain to perceive, the motor systems in the brain to control movement, and requires numerous cognitive skills and capabilities such as attention, working memory, navigation, planning, and decision-making. Aim Lab was designed to help gamers maximize their performance by training and improving these brain functions.

Early tests conducted by Statespace and Kernel have shown that these skillsets can be quantified and tracked, with millions of neurons firing across wide areas of a gamer’s brain when practicing gaming skills in Gridshot, Aim Lab’s most popular training mode. These, and future tests, will contribute to an ever growing body of research that demonstrates how playing action video games is a great way to exercise your brain.

“My focus with Aim Lab has always been the ways in which we can understand and quantify the relationship between brain function and in-game performance, and how that knowledge can be used for improvement,” said Dr. Wayne Mackey, founder of Statespace. “So our partnership with Kernel is a perfect fit. We’re looking forward to utilizing their cutting-edge hardware to expand our understanding of what human minds look like when playing games at a high level, and ultimately using that understanding to push the boundaries of what people think is even possible.”

“What’s measured is improved, and Kernel is making brain measurement mainstream,” said Kernel founder Bryan Johnson. “Pairing Kernel Flow with Aim Lab opens a new frontier of performance enhancement, learning and mental optimization.”

The partnership will be marked by an upcoming event during which Kernel Flow will be worn by pro gamers while playing Aim Lab. Details of this event will be revealed soon.

About Aim Lab

Founded by a team of neuroscientists, Aim Lab is the ultimate training platform for gamers of all levels, with over 16 million players around the globe. Designed to help all players reach peak performance, Aim Lab learns your strengths and weaknesses and challenges you with custom exercises that reward commitment and optimize gains. About Kernel

Kernel’s full-stack team of engineers, physicists, and neuroscientists built two new revolutionary non-invasive brain interfaces that enable measuring the mind as easy as your heartbeat—Kernel Flow and Flux.
