HUNTER’S ARENA: LEGENDS TO LAUNCH AS PLAYSTATION 5 AND PS PLUS EXCLUSIVE ON AUGUST 3

PC version to exit Steam Early Access, enabling cross-play

SEOUL – July 9, 2021 – Hunter’s Arena: Legends will launch on August 3, 2021, as a PS5, PS4, and PS Plus exclusive, as revealed today during a State of Play event by PlayStation®. The PC version will exit Steam Early Access on the same date, adding new features and enabling cross-play with PlayStation® players. It will also receive a limited time 50% launch discount.

Watch PlayStation State of Play trailer here:

“We’d like to apologize for taking a considerable amount of time to polish our game and making our fans wait for the official launch,” said David Yoon, the CEO of Mantisco. “Today, I’m excited to confirm: Hunter’s Arena Legends will get a full release on August 3d on PlayStation and PC with cross-play!”

Major changes in the release version include:

  • Five new Hunters – Five new warriors – Momo, Dalgi, Wu Kong, Pigsy, and Sandy – will be added to a total roster of 17 Hunters that players can enjoy, test, and craft their own strategies with.
  • Smaller map for tighter gameplay – Listening to user feedback, the map has now been shrunk and the number of players has been decreased for more dynamic gameplay and easier navigation. Fast travel options have also been added.
  • Overhauled combat system – To give players more options, Quickstep has been added to the game. It’s a risky move that can turn the tide of the battle, but using it makes players more vulnerable to enemy’s projectiles.
  • New arena, crossplay, and more – There’s a new arena coming, as well various optimizations that allow for cross-play between PС and PlayStation. The game’s PC performance has been further improved.

The Track Builder makes its debut in the new Hot Wheels Unleashed video

Creativity has no limits!

Mattel and Milestone showed today a deep dive dedicated to the Track Builder, a brand new game mode for Hot Wheels Unleashed™ where players can express themselves thanks to an editor without limits.

The Track Builder is the same tool that Milestone’s designers used to the create the game’s tracks, this means that players have in their hands all the powers to unleash their creativity.

Players will learn how to take control of the iconic orange track modules, the backbone of all the adrenaline races. Twisting, bending, stretching and finally placing every available module is now part of the pure racing fun experience!

For the occasion, Federico Cardini, Lead Game Designer for Hot Wheels Unleashed, presents a deep dive dedicated to how the Track Builder works:

After more than two years of development, the final result allows players to create crazy tracks in an extremely easy way, starting from choosing one of the environments available in the game, including the Track Room, a special stage designed specifically to showcase the freedom of the Track Builder, thanks to an empty big space without any kind of limits or obstacles.

Any element of the environments could potentially be part of the track, this means that players can mix track modules with a stage’s objects in order to create dynamic and unpredictable races.

Players will also have the chance to bring their tracks to the next level, thanks to the special Track Builder Modules. More than 20 amazing modules are available, such as T-Rex Escape, Spider Ambush, Hungry Cobra, those will make the tracks even more unique, insane and challenging.

The Track Builder also features the chance to share creations with the world or enjoy the tracks made by other crazy players. Being part of the community means having the chance to become an extraordinary designer or simply a racer always looking for new adrenaline and unpredictable challenges.

Finally, the new videos unveiled seven new vehicles out of the 60+ available on day 1. They are: 24 Ours™, Off-Duty™, Supercharged™, RocketFire™, Street Creeper™, Surf ‘N Turf™, Tricera-Truck.

Hot Wheels Unleashed offers players the opportunity to drive the cars as if they were playing with the die-cast toys. The gameplay includes adrenaline-filled races, an extended choice of Hot Wheels vehicles with different attributes and rarity levels that players can customise with different skins, and jaw-dropping tracks set in everyday-life locations with special track modules and interactive items. The game also features a revolutionary Track Builder enabling players to customise tracks in any game environment and share them with the game’s community.

Sci-Fi Roguelike Gravity Oddity Teleports onto Consoles and PC Summer 2022

Sci-Fi Roguelike Gravity Oddity Teleports onto Consoles and PC Summer 2022

Launching on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 + 5, Xbox One + Series X|S, PC

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – July 8, 2021 – Gravity Oddity, the gravity-bending space action roguelike from developer Invincible Cat, fuels up its jetpack for a Summer 2022 launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Steam for PC.

Gravity’s gone! Planets have started to shrink and shatter. Survivors create new colonies on floating rocks in space or live lonely lives in their ships. Fortunately, Rio Grande Corp. anticipated this disaster and created the Gravity Boots, empowering people to walk on any surface and live nearly normal lives. But Rio Grande Corp. may have an evil agenda: they’ve kidnapped the protagonist’s roommate, Gary. With Gary gone, how will our hero pay his rent?

Grab those Gravity Boots and go after Gary on a journey through space. Zip across asteroids and leap from ship-to-ship with a handy jetpack and modular raygun capable of teleporting its user to any surface. Fight on ceilings and walls to take out soldiers and turrets while dodging ship security systems. Master gravity in fast-paced, chaotic shootouts emphasizing verticality, precision shots, and platforming skills.

After blasting bad guys and wrecking ships, loot everything to find money, supplies, or one of 80+ stackable mods. Discover synergistic upgrades to empower the starting sidearm, with improvements like bouncing bullets, homing shots, or even spawning a decoy with each reload. Arm up and defeat the boss in each procedurally-generated stage to travel to the next area. Move with caution, as perma-death means the loss of those precious upgrades.

Customize the colorful, cartoony look of Gravity Oddity’s silly sci-fi journey by tweaking the protagonist’s costume and appearance. Coordinate outfits with both the protagonist’s furry friend Newton and their robot to look sharp while teleporting across the galaxy. Even the music changes to match the gameplay: while songs typically start off with piano, intense action amplifies the soundtrack, adding retro synth elements for the ultimate space experience.

“Designing Gravity Oddity has been creatively fulfilling because I’ve worked directly with my community,” said Tim Verrouil, solo developer and founder, Invincible Cat. “I asked them what they’d want in a game, and we came up with this concept together. It was tricky to make combat work on walls and ceilings but with their help, I think we’ve made it very enjoyable!”

Gravity Oddity will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam for PC. It will support English, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Polish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, South Korean and Japanese.

To learn more, visit Gravity Oddity’s official website, check out Invincible Cat’s Twitter and Facebook page, and join the official Discord server. Gravity Oddity is also part of the GameBCN video game incubator.

Apogee Entertainment Reveals Challenging Roguelike Below the Stone, Survival Shooter Dead Fury

Apogee Entertainment Reveals Challenging Roguelike Below the Stone, Survival Shooter Dead Fury

Revived Storied Publisher Bringing New Titles to PC, Consoles

DALLAS — 8 July 2021 — Legendary indie publisher Apogee Entertainment unveils two new titles coming to its catalog: Strollart’s Below the Stone, a back-to-the-past hand-drawn roguelike arriving in 2022, and Funder Studios’ Dead Fury, the story-rich zombie survival shooter arising in 2023. Both titles will release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam for PC.

A PAX Online East Indie Showcase selection, Below the Stone invites treasure seekers to join the Explorer’s Guild of Draggas as an apprentice dwarf, continuing the sacred dwarven tradition of mining. Descend into procedurally generated, pixel-art biomes, digging for treasure and ore to obtain crucial upgrades for the next run. Discover the hidden world underneath the stone. Explore carefully, for anything earned in the mine is lost forever upon a Depth Dweller’s demise!

Dead Fury features narrative-driven missions with fast-paced, third-person shooting in a world where humans are now unstoppable killing machines thanks to a mysterious infection brought back to Earth hidden within Mars’ rocks. Play as Jaxon, a soldier stationed in New Zealand who must fight off intelligent hordes with clever traps and firepower while he tracks down the rare flower that can slow the spread of the Fury infecting humanity.

In April, renowned publisher Apogee Entertainment returned to the video game stage with its original founder, Scott Miller. The new Apogee seeks to continue the pioneering spirit of the company in the 1990s, when the company released classic titles including Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem 3D, and many more.

Below the Stone and Dead Fury are perfect representatives of what we want to do at Apogee in the 2020s: give you that old-school feel while taking the medium forward to a new era,” said Scott Miller, founder of Apogee Entertainment. “By finding one-of-a-kind video game experiences and funding them in their early stages, we’re allowing developers to continue designing outside the box and make some incredible experiences.”

For more information on Strollart’s underground tale of dwarven expedition, check out the official website, and follow the studio on their website, Twitter, and Discord.

About Strollart

Founded as a place for a group of friends to come together and express their love of indie games, Stollart looks to break the formula that’s pervasive within the AAA space and build something that can only be found within indie development. Michael Carroll, director, producer, and artist, is joined by Andrew Leonard and Karam Bharj in the development of their debut game, Below the Stone, with an eye set on showing what a few friends in a metaphorical basement can build together.

About Funder Studios

Funder Studios’ founder Paul Cousins took his love of open-world and simulation games and began work on the studio’s debut title, Dead Fury, in 2019. The studio aims to take the best parts and the lessons they’ve learned from their favorite titles, and make them into fun, refined, and eye-opening experiences.

About Apogee Entertainment

Apogee Software’s legendary journey began in 1987, when Scott Miller decided to split his new game, Kingdom of Kroz, into three episodes, with the first episode available as free shareware. The “Apogee model” of distribution would revolutionize PC gaming and catapult Apogee Software to global renown. As a publisher, Apogee (and its later incarnation, 3D Realms) would introduce the world to id Software, Remedy Entertainment, Parallax Software, and other video game superstars in the making. As a developer, Apogee would innovate and inspire in equal measure, creating treasured characters and franchises like Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior, and Prey en route to earning over a billion dollars in commercial revenue.

The new Apogee Entertainment, with founder Scott Miller and longtime partner Terry Nagy at the helm, will empower today’s incredibly talented indie developers, paving the way for their global success with innovative ideas, cutting-edge marketing, and the same fearlessness that changed the industry.
