Dutch Cruisers Available in Early Access in World of Warships

New ships will feather a new type of armament – Airstrike

AUSTIN, TX (July 14, 2021) – World of Warships, the widely popular free to play naval combat game from developer and publisher, Wargaming, has released Update 0.10.6 making available Dutch Cruisers in early access, two seasons of Brawls, and more visual and technical improvements.

Watch the update video HERE.

The main event for Update 0.10.6 is the addition of Dutch Tier IV-IX cruisers in Early Access.  These mighty ships have high caliber firepower, rock solid armor at high tiers and great maneuverability, but a short firing range.

Starting from Tier VI, they will come equipped with a brand-new type of armament – Airstrike. Based on real world examples of the low altitude bombing principle, it will allow players to call in aircraft and have it bombard the specified area with HE bombs. These explosives are equipped with drogue parachutes to slow their descent, and prevent planes being hit by the shrapnel.

The AI controlled aircraft will have a maximum operating distance of 10–13 km and it won’t be able to spot enemies. It will however be highly effective against low-mobility targets such as battleships and large cruisers. This ability gives players a fresh way to strike enemy ships hiding behind the cover of islands.
To access new Dutch cruisers for free, players will need to complete combat mission groups and earn a new temporary resource – Dutch Tokens. The same resource will be available in free daily bundles, random bundles for doubloons, and in bundles for community tokens.

Besides the ships, players are able to obtain the Kinderdijk Windmill patch, a commemorative flag and themed camouflages.

Finally, to celebrate the event the historical Rotterdam port has been added, which authentically recreates the look of the famous harbor city from the 1950s.

Update 0.10.6 will also feature two seasons of Brawls. All players will be able to participate in 3 vs 3 battles on Tier VI and Tier VII ships.

A number of visual and other enhancements have also been made, including the updated AI that will result in more realistic behavior of bots. In addition, a Hall of Fame tab has been added to Clan Battles, showcasing the winners of previous seasons.

All the details, developer notes can be found HERE,

Deception, Survival and Betrayal Set Sail as Dread Hunger Launches on PC This Fall

Early Access Multiplayer Survival Game from Digital Confectioners Reveals Icy New ‘The Summit’ Map as Players Prepare for a Dangerous Arctic Voyage

CHRISTCHURCH, NZ – July 14, 2021 – Prepare to sail to uncharted lands where human nature can be deadlier than the bitter cold

Digital Confectioners, an independent PC and console games studio, today announces that Dread Hunger, its multiplayer roleplaying game of survival and betrayal where players undertake a deadly voyage on a doomed sailing ship, will launch on Steam for PC this fall.

The upcoming full release follows the game’s popular Early Access phase. Capturing the attention of early media adopters and game influencers, Dread Hunger’s gameplay videos are amassing millions of views and the game is killing it with an 88% positive user review score. Dread Hunger immerses players in a rich world of 19th century Arctic exploration where eight player-controlled ‘Explorers’ depend on each other for survival—but two of them are ‘Thralls’ determined to sabotage the mission!

“It has been deeply gratifying to see a loyal community spring up around Dread Hunger and throw themselves into everything from discovering new metas, to just goofing around and pretending to be old timey priests,” said Alex Quick, Creative Director of the Dread Hunger Team.

“We’ve been listening closely to the community’s feedback as we move through Early Access, and I think the game is so much better for it!”

Players use voice chat to role play and give life to their chosen character aboard the ship while completing objectives in an action-adventure game world. The six Explorers must work together to gather resources to power the ship towards its destination while contending with the harsh climate.

Meanwhile, Thralls plot to poison food, massacre crewmembers, detonate explosives in the ship, plunder resources, and invoke dark magic to undermine the mission—all while pretending to be loyal Explorers. Starvation, wolves, cannibal attacks, and other gruesome fates abound, any misplaced trust can quickly lead to a knife in the back. When food is sparse, fellow crewmates appear more and more appetizing.

The full release of Dread Hunger will bring the final version of maps, characters, and gameplay updates to the Unreal® Engine-based title. Progress toward the final game can be seen in today’s video for new ‘The Great Hunt’ update, which brings a new map – The Summit, a new character – The Hunter, her Bow weapon, and a terrifying new enemy – the Polar Bear:

Game Key Features

Survive the Arctic: Build fires to stay warm, fend off wolves and other predators, and hunt for food to stay alive in the brutal and unforgiving Canadian Arctic.
Betray Your Friends: Feed them tainted food, lure animals to attack them, hex them with blood magic, or if all else fails… just shoot them in the back.
Roleplay Your Character: Add flavor and personality to your character by using integrated voice chat and your in-game actions. Play as the Captain, Navigator, Engineer, Cook, Doctor, Chaplain, Royal Marine, or Hunter, all equipped with a unique starting kit and passive ability.
You Are What You Eat: In the Arctic, you must make grim choices to stay fed; butcher bodies and use the pieces as weapons—or food.
Captain a Ship: Steer a 19th century warship around (or into) icebergs and find coal for the ever-hungry boiler to keep the ship moving… or blow it up.
Brave a Perilous World: Plan around a full day and night cycle, contend with unexpected whiteouts, and try to outrun a massive blizzard that looms over the expedition.

Dread Hunger, scheduled for release on PC via Steam this fall, is developed by the Dread Hunger Team and published by Digital Confectioners. The game will first be released on PC, but developers are exploring options to bring the game to other platforms. More information will be revealed in the coming months, including opportunities for media and creators to play with the developers. Replica Studios Announces Early Access to AI Voice Actors for Unreal Engine’s MetaHuman Creator

AI Voice Platform that enables perfectly timed lip-sync to digital humans will be showcased at upcoming Game Developers Conference

BRISBANE, Australia — July 14, 2021 — Replica Studios, an artificial intelligence (AI) voice technology company, today revealed plans to integrate with Unreal Engine’s MetaHuman Creator, allowing developers to give their MetaHumans unique sounding AI voices with matching lip-synch and face animation. Replica’s platform enables game developers, animators, and filmmakers to use AI voices for digital characters. Additionally, they are creating a library of hundreds of AI voice characters with unique sounding voices for developers to tap into for game and animation narratives. Developers can sign up for early access to the Replica Studios and MetaHuman Creator integration at https://replicastudios.com/metahumans

View a preview video showcasing MetaHuman Creator avatars performed by two of Replica Studios’ AI voice actors:

Quality lip-syncing can make or break visual storytelling in games and digital content, and as developers add a cast of characters to a narrative, the lip-syncing challenge becomes all the more complex. Replica Studios’ integration with Unreal Engine’s MetaHuman Creator provides developers from AAA to indie studios with AI voice-acted characters in addition to accurate lip-synching and face animation, speeding up the animation process and freeing up more time for more creative experimentation with game narrative. Developers can animate digital characters in minutes by capturing their own voice using a recording app, then using the audio to direct the performance of the AI voice, so that it matches with the face mocap and lip movements of the MetaHuman Creator.

This video shows how the integration between Replica and MetaHuman Creator works:

Replica Studios will showcase its AI voice technology at the annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) next week. Developers can attend the GDC session to learn more about its AI voice actors for MetaHuman Creator on Monday, July 19, from 2:00pm – 2:30pm Pacific Time: https://schedule.gdconf.com/session/game-narrative-summit-voice-ai-for-game-developers-optimizing-the-narrative-process/879792

Shreyas Nivas, Co-Founder and CEO of Replica Studios, said: “We’re about to see a major transformation in the way game narratives are created and experienced by audiences. Traditionally, animators manually animate the face and lip movements to match the voiceover, which gets recorded separately, often losing days or weeks to this process over the lifecycle of a project. Replica’s Voice AI platform enables text-to-animation pipelines to render dialogue and narration within minutes. While we’re only letting in early access developers into our AI voices beta program for Unreal Engine MetaHuman Creator, soon millions of game developers and animators with access to the MetaHuman Creator will be able to access our library of AI voice actors to give their MetaHuman Creator avatars a voice. These lower barriers to entry and faster times to market mean that we’ll be seeing a shift to higher quality, more narrative driven, more realistic looking and sounding games sooner than you’d expect.”

Sign up for early access to the Replica Studios & MetaHuman Creator integration at https://replicastudios.com/metahumans

Replica Studios’ AI voices for MetaHuman Creator will feature:

  • Unreal Engine MetaHuman Creator voiced by Replica Studios’ AI voice actors, with accurate lip-syncing.
  • Replica Studio’s library of 40+ AI voice actors that range from expressive game characters to narrators and storytellers with a diverse range of accents and speaking styles.
  • Text to Synthesized Speech. Type what you want your avatar to say and receive the synthesized speech in seconds.
  • Fine tune the AI voice actor’s performance with controls to apply moods, emphasis, pitch, sound effects and other characteristics where needed.
  • Capture and save multiple takes and access a history of saved dialog lines for future adjustments and iterations

This announcement follows on the heels of their launch of an integration with iClone Character Creator, another highly popular animation and face mocap software trusted by hundreds of thousands of developers worldwide.

New details for Ayo the Clown, releasing on July 28th, in Where’s the Pup video

Learn more about Ayo’s adventure and quest to find his jiggly dog!

New Jersey, USA – July 14th, 2021 – Indie game studio Cloud M1 has revealed a new video in the run-up to the release of 2.5D clown-themed platformer Ayo the Clown; launching on Nintendo Switch and Steam for PC on July 28th 2021. Where’s the Pup uses the game’s fantastic visuals to explore the main storyline of the game: the kidnapping of Ayo’s jiggly dog, Bo, and his adventure across a variety of wacky worlds. This video also shows off some of the game’s environments, like Candy Land, and new mechanics, such as the Flying Balloon.

“Ayo’s main goal is to find his beloved dog, Bo, so we wanted to show you just how cute this pup is! We’ve also added some new details about the game and its world to whet your appetite as the release date approaches,” said Xiu Liang, Cloud M1 Game Director. “Ayo the Clown will be finally arriving on July 28th and we can’t wait for players to join the fun.”

On this incredible adventure you play as Ayo, your not-so-average clown, in search of his best friend and beloved dog, Bo, who has mysteriously disappeared. This journey will take Ayo across eight regions from the lush Hills, to the wacky Water World and all the way to sickeningly sweet Candy Land in search of clues to Bo’s whereabouts. This world is full of friendly people and interesting creatures that are willing to lend a helping hand but beware of the fiendish foes who are out to cause you harm.

Pick up a water balloon, balloon sword, toy hammer, dinosaur, helicopter, tank, everything a healthy clown needs to survive in the great outdoors. Since Ayo is not the kind of clown to make the same joke over and over again, you’ll travel across many uniquely themed platforms and come into contact with larger than life bosses and hordes of enemies that will prove that this clown is much tougher than he seems.

Hanako: Honor & Blade, Samurai Multiplayer Game of Life and Destruction, Will Launch on Steam September 15

As Milestone Launch Nears, Developer +Mpact Reflects on Passion Project’s 14-Year Journey to Remember Those Lost to Cancer

ATLANTA, GA – July 14, 2021 – +Mpact Games, a small team of developers united to make a very personal game, today announced thatHanako: Honor & Blade, its immersive online multiplayer combat experience set in Feudal Japan, will launch onSteam for PC on September 15, 2021. The game, which completed its successful Early Access program this year, will be available for a price of $14.99. To celebrate the upcoming launch, +Mpact today released a new video showing the latest multiplayer map revealing the transformation of Yamai Castle, previously seen only in its dark, diseased form, as a raid of strong warriors culminates in a cleansing victory that removes its evil aura.

“As we put the final touches on Hanako: Honor & Blade we’re reflecting on the bittersweet journey we’ve shared to honor those we have lost,” said Matt Canei, Team Lead at +Mpact Games. “Seeing the transformation of the Yamai Castle map to celebrate a cleansing victory brings home the emotional impact of what our team has accomplished using our own resources.”

Hanako: Honor and Blade is a passion project that has been in development for over a decade. The game’s art and backstory of the game serve as a symbolic tribute to the late mother of team lead, Matt Canei, an industry veteran currently at ILMxLAB. The lore represents an everlasting struggle of life and death, as embodied by the game’s two warrior clans. The Hanako clan represents health and goodness in the spirit of Matt’s mother, and the Yamai clan symbolize the opposition to life inherent in cancer and other diseases. The natural balance of the opposing forces metaphorically represents real-life tragedies while seeking to honor those lost.

Hanako: Honor & Blade takes players online for immersive battles in a beautiful recreation of Feudal Japan between up to 24 players. Players can help decide the future of a nation by playing as one of four distinct warrior classes including the capable swordsman, powerful spearman, eagle-eyed archer, or nimble ninja. Each class has different build/skill options and features directionally driven combat, abilities, and spirit-based skills to get an extra edge. Players will play as one of two clans and seek to defeat opponents through multiple game modes and maps, with each game level presenting unique obstacles and mechanics that will require strategy and teamwork to defeat enemies.

About +Mpact Games

Hanako: Honor & Blade started as an award-winning college project back in 2007 with team co-founders, Matt Canei, Connor McCarthy, and Ajani Thomas. The project originated with Matt’s teenage vow to honor his mother, Janie, following her tragic passing after a five-year battle with breast cancer. Janie was a brilliantly positive and loving mother who raised Matt to always follow his dreams, and Hanako is a passion project that symbolizes the battle between life and destruction, with two samurai clan representing light and darkness. All three co-founders are now experienced developers, with Matt currently at ILMxLAB, and the game has continually evolved as their skills have advanced. Its upcoming full release on Steam on September 15, 2021, 14 years after it was conceived, make it one of the longest independent game launches in history.
