Spiderweb Software Launches a Kickstarter for ‘Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor’

Crazily Innovative New Indie Adventure for Windows, Mac, and iOS Platforms

August 17th, 2021 – Spiderweb Software, Inc., makers of fine indie games for 27 years, announces a Kickstarter campaign for an all-new fantasy role-playing adventure. We want to make Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor, the second game in the Queen’s Wish trilogy, and we want our fans to be involved.

In Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor, you are the youngest child of Queen Sharyn. You are powerful royalty of the Empire of Haven. Your mother the Queen has fallen ill, and your enemies smell your weakness.

In the violent wilds of the Rokaj, rebels have tried to kill you. A rebellion is raging, and your mother demands that you stop it. Now you are trapped in high mountains, surrounded by angry armies and factions shouting for your support. Doom creeps ever closer, and the demands of your family are constant. They say you must conquer the Rokaj.

Will you? Or will you set it free? It is up to you.

Escape into an enormous fantasy world, where retro 80’s-style gameplay mixes with innovative design and storytelling. Explore an enormous outdoors and many towns and dungeons. Fight complex, elaborate turn-based battles. Outwit rival factions with cunning, diplomacy, or (if you choose) violence. In a unique game system, gain power by building new forts and filling them with industry.

Spiderweb Software is a small mom and pop game company, and we are asking our fans to help our new world live up to its potential. Thus, our Kickstarter. You can back our game, take part in designing it, and, if you ever pirated our games, you can purchase personalized absolution.

Spiderweb Software, Inc., a tiny indie game company based in Seattle, WA founded in 1994, is fanatically dedicated to creating fun, exciting fantasy role-playing games for Windows, Macintosh, and iOS. Past titles include the award-winning Exile, Geneforge, Avernum, and Avadon series.

TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW SIX SIEGE Reveals Year 6 Season 3 Crystal Guard

Rainbow Six Siege welcomes Osa, a Croatian Operator, among many other updates

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — August 17, 2021 — Today, Ubisoft® revealed Crystal Guard, the third season of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow SixSiege Year 6, and its new Operator, Osa, a military engineer coming from Croatia, in addition to light reworks of the maps Coastline, Bank and Clubhouse and many other updates.

In Crystal Guard, players will discover a brand-new attacker, Osa, equipped with Talon-8 Clear Shield: a transparent bulletproof shield that she can deploy on the ground, in door or window frames. She can navigate with the shield in her hands if needed, albeit with certain restrictions (weapon stored, no sprint, no prone). Osa is a medium speed, medium armour Operator, equipped with 556 Xl or PDW9 as primary weapon and the PMM as a secondary weapon.

In addition, the Bank, Coastline, and Clubhouse maps have been rebuilt from the ground up to enhance balancing, environmental destruction, sound propagation, and lighting. Crystal Guard introduces numerous balancing adjustments to these maps, including a 1F Reception bomb site replacing the 1F Service Entrance site on Coastline, new locations, and more entryways – for example, a new alleyway in Bank and a new path in Clubhouse. In terms of environmental destruction, the Bank and Coastline maps feature new destroyable walls: on Bank, the Railing on 2F Skyline and on Coastline, the exterior wall in 2F VIP lounge.

Additional updates coming with Crystal Guard include:

  • Elite customisation: players are now able to equip any existing headgear with an Elite uniform if they own both and belong to the same Operator
  • Operator balancing (Twitch, IQ, Fuze, Mute)
  • Flash Detection System
  • Gadget damage adjustments
  • Armour rework
  • RIM lighting that highlights opponents to avoid unfair camouflage scenarios

Finally, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is welcoming its second Elite skin from Capcom®’s survival horror franchise Resident Evil: Lion ‘Leon S. Kennedy’ Elite. This Elite skin will be available on August 18.

Rainbow Six Siege will release a new Collector case in Spring 2021. Exclusive to the Ubisoft Store, this case includes exclusive goodies such as a replica of Sledge’s hammer, the Sparkle Tachanka chibi, and digital content for Rainbow Six Siege. More details can be found on store.ubi.com.

The Test Server for Crystal Guard will go live on August 18, with Osa coming on August 19. The Test Server is an alternative version of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege that allows players to test upcoming gameplay features that will make their way into the main game. Since this is a testing environment, a consistent gameplay experience is not guaranteed on the Test Server. Players are invited to submit the issues they encounter on the Test Server on the R6 Fix platform here.

Players can discover their in-game stats, track their progression, receive personalised recaps, and more here: https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/rainbow-six/siege/stats

WW2 Real-Time Tactics in War Mongrels, Launching Oct. 19 on Steam

War Mongrels Fights For What’s Right October 19, 2021 on PC

Gliwice, Poland — Aug. 14, 2021 — War Mongrels, the grisly real-time tactics game set in World War II from publisher and developer Destructive Creations, brings the lesser-known hardships of history to PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. The unveiling of the story continues with the latest trailer.

Experience the story of a squad of German, Polish, and Lithuanian freedom fighters warring in the name of their homelands, values—newly discovered for some—and above all else, humanity. Follow their defection from the Third Reich, sneaking through occupied cities, barracks, enemy lines, and body pits. Avoid detection and distract ex-comrades by making use of scarce commodities, playing music boxes, whistling, or throwing rocks to escape unnoticed.

Strategize the best course of action and order the fighters to proceed at the right moment, or queue up multiple commands before enacting them all at once in Planning Mode. Use the team’s varied skills and stick to the shadows for a chance to make it through missions unscathed. But prepare for the worst: war offers no guarantees. Engage in combat with twin-stick shooting mechanics as a last resort, letting bullets fly to escape sticky situations.

Explore another side of history with War Mongrels’ visceral and violent entry in the isometric strategy sub-genre. Outside of gameplay, visually striking animated cutscenes tie together each vignette inspired by true stories of WWII soldiers and shaped by a team of historians. Destructive Creations prioritizes honesty and accuracy above all else when depicting details from this era, touching on everything from notable events to battlefield terrain, uniforms, news articles, and more.

“World War II has been warped by a lot of other media, and that’s left historical blind spots, often intentionally,” said Marcin Stanek, Business Development Manager at Destructive Creations. “Stories outside of the American perspective rarely get enough visibility, and we aim to change that with an interactive and immersive experience.”

War Mongrels will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store on October 19, 2021, for $44.99/€37.99, with next-gen and current-gen console ports to follow. Pre-orders are now available via the Epic Game Store, with a 20% discount. War Mongrels supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) language subtitles at launch with full English voiceover.

For more information, please visit the official War Mongrels website and follow Destructive Creations on Twitter and Facebook.
