MODUS GAMES HEADS TO GAMESCOM WITH STACKED LINEUP

Appearances from Soulstice, In Sound Mind, Rustler, and Super Animal Royale, plus a surprise announcement planned

Walnut Creek, Calif. (August 24, 2021) – Modus Games today unveiled their plans for Gamescom ahead of the event’s Opening Night Live ceremony tomorrow. As an official partner of Gamescom, which runs from August 25-27, Modus Games will offer fans access to the latest information about its exciting lineup of games and will appear throughout the show in various media events – including the Future Games Show airing on August 26 and on IGN’s Gamescom programming on August 26 and 27. Modus will make a splash with the previously announced titles Soulstice, In Sound Mind, Super Animal Royale and Rustler, along with a surprise announcement at the Future Games Show.

Originally announced during the PC Gaming Show at E3, Soulstice is a stunning hack-and-slash action title developed by Reply Game Studios that puts players in control of two characters at the same time. The innovative dual character setup encourages players to dominate the battlefield in unique ways, unleashing spectacular attacks that combine the strengths of sisters Briar and Lute. Only if players learn how to combine their powers for maximum damage will they be able to master their abilities and save their world.

In Sound Mind from We Create Stuff is an imaginative first-person psychological horror adventure that pits players against the unpredictable dangers stirring within deep memories. Created by the team behind the legendary Nightmare House 2 mod, In Sound Mind twists seemingly simple recollections into odd encounters with terrifying threats, frenetic puzzles, and a mysterious talking cat for good measure.

In Rustler, developed by Jutsu Games, you’ll play as anti-hero Guy, a brigand determined to win The Grand Tournament for its illustrious prize. Saddle up and prepare to complete quests, terrorise townspeople, shoot cows into the sky and cause absolute ruckus as a medieval marauder in Rustler.

Super Animal Royale is a battle royale with a zoological twist. Play as your favorite cuddly, genetically modified animal picked from 300+ breeds, find your style with 600+ cosmetic items, and jump off the back of a Giant Eagle and into a 64-player fight to the death! You’ll fire shotguns and sparrows, toss grenades and bananas, ride emus and hamster balls all the way to the top of the food chain. The explosive top-down action pairs perfectly with an expressive flat-design style, and the innovative fog-of-war-system enables a game that’s as deep and strategic as it is fun and accessible.

POST-APOCALYPTIC RPG BROKEN ROADS KICKS OFF TEAM17’S GAMESCOM WEEK

The wastelands of post-apocalyptic Western Australia reveal their stories in Drop Bear Bytes’ emotive and branching isometric role-playing game coming to Steam and console platforms in 2022.

Tuesday, 24th August 2021 – Team17 and Drop Bear Bytes have today confirmed the development of Broken Roads, an original and narrative-rich, isometric, turn-based role-playing game set in an unforgiving, post-apocalyptic Western Australia. Scheduled to launch on Steam and console platforms in 2022, Broken Roads presents a post-apocalypse with real-world locations and landmarks serving as the backdrop for the complex stories of Australia’s survivors.

At the heart of Broken Roads’ thoughtful and mature storylines is a deep and meaningful morality system – the Moral Compass – that influences quests, dialogue, and character development. The system is shaped along four different philosophical paths: Humanist, Utilitarian, Machiavellian, and Nihilist, each with their own unique traits. As the journey begins, players will be asked a series of questions – moral quandries – that determine their starting position on the compass. Decisions made throughout the game will then shift their philosophical leaning and affect future choices, quests, and reactions from the people they meet.

Broken Roads key features

  • Deep and compelling: Broken Roads builds on classic single-player role-playing games, blending traditional gameplay with original mechanics and experiences
  • Moral Compass: A unique system that influences both story and gameplay as the plot unfolds
  • Authentic setting: Explore real-world locations across a post-apocalyptic Western Australia filled with intriguing and emotional stories
  • Unique visual and musical styles: Hand-drawn visuals and a soundtrack composed with instruments constructed from everyday objects help make the world of Broken Roads vibrant and alive.

Broken Roads is now available to Wishlist on Steam. To keep up to date with all the information on Broken Roads please like us on Facebook, follow Team17 and the official Broken Roads Twitter, and join us on the official Discord server.

Fire up your hot air balloon, grab your goggles and gears, and top it all off with a copper top hat because Minecraft Dungeons is going steampunk! Wait, what? Excuse me, esteemed reader, I am being aggressively handed a brief. Let’s see. Oh? Oh. Well, this is embarrassing. I don’t usually make mistakes, but we are going to have to start over.

Ahem.

Fire up your keyboards, check your RGB lights, and top it all off with a pair of oversized headphones because Minecraft Dungeons is launching on Steam! On September 22, you will be able to download the Minecraft Dungeons base game for $19.99 USD and the Ultimate Edition, which includes the base game along with all six DLCs, for $39.99 USD. When you purchase the Ultimate Edition on Steam, you also unlock special bonus content that consists of the entire game and all DLCs soundtrack and hi-res digital artwork featuring each DLC setting!

Don’t look at me like that, you need to warm up before you harmonize with all 215 tracks in the game soundtrack.
