Publisher and developer HandyGames releases a gigantic update to the critically acclaimed Townsmen VR. Honestly, it’s more like a complete overhaul than an update

Giebelstadt, Germany, September 21st, 2021
Finally! Townsmen VR is entering the final stages of Early Access. After a complete overhaul, you are no longer confined to a small island in the middle of an endless ocean. The latest Early Access update of Townsmen VR gives you not only a single island to explore but a world to interact with.

What to expect:
The world of Townsmen VR changed drastically. Whereas you just had one island to explore in the old version of the Early Access – the game was intended as a tech demo – you now still start on the tutorial island but one can expand their empire to a world of 13 different islands and archipelagos. Filled to the brim with exciting features, adventures and things to lay your virtual hands-on. By now the crafting system has been expanded so you have up to 20 different raw materials to build, carve, bake and smelt goods with. A good example is knights.

How to build a knight:

Current Early Access features

  • A complete overhaul of Townsmen VR
  • A fully voiced campaign and story arching over 13 islands
  • Upgrades and add-ons for buildings
  • Research is added for further upgrades
  • New animals like cows, sheep and chickens, and wild animals roaming the islands
  • Build a harbour to have a trader’s ship and begin treasuring up riches
  • Buy things at the market instead of harvesting (if you have the gold, of course)
  • Time to reach out and build some bows and crossbows for your soldiers
  • Deal with pirates and shady merchants
  • Completely remodelled UI and more quality of life improvements

Townsmen VR is available in all its Early Access glory here: Townsmen VR on STEAM

Encounters in Rainbow Billy are completely non-violent. Instead of fighting, Billy and their companions must build trust to successfully resolve the engagement! Many creatures have tricks to slow you down, but sometimes it only takes a little empathy and a new point of view to reach an understanding. You can learn more about how these encounters play out in the game’s Confrontations Trailer.

Derby, UK, 21st September 2021: With the launch of their first publishing project, BPM: Bullets Per Minute (Xbox One / PS4) just around the corner, Playtonic Friends decided the time was right to lift the lid on their next partnership.

Under development by brand new indie team MegaWobble, Lil Gator Game is built around the idea of uninterrupted exploration and child-like whimsy with a story not about noble heroes who changed the world or of wicked anti-heroes who learn the error of their ways but of heroes who learn to be better friends without ever losing their heart of gold

Employ a packed tool-box of toys & abilities to explore a giant play park spread across an island setting as you guide the Lil Gator as he climbs, jumps, glides and flings himself from adventure to adventure, new friend to new friend.

“We’ve talked a lot this year about what attracts us to new projects and it really boil down to one thing – finding games WE want to play and in a lot of cases wish we’d come up with!said Gavin Price, CEO, Playtonic FriendsThat really couldn’t be more the case with the guys at MegaWobble and the amazing world they’ve created with Lil Gator Game. From the first time we saw a few short gifs online we were so impressed and it just made sense to get in touch with them.  Turns out they are fans of all the same great games as us, shared a love of adventure platformers and so we decided to team up.”

Born from the team’s shared experience as gamers, not purely as developers, LiL Gator Game focuses on a wholesome, enjoyable experience built around the very concepts of friendship and helping each other.

Look out for Lil Gator Game during the Indie Land event this Saturday, 25th September, and it will also be popping up in the Steam Next Fest starting at the end of next week.

Successor to the original best-selling Recon 200, the Gen 2 is available in black, white, and an all-new midnight blue color. The Gen 2 edition builds on the strengths of the original Recon 200 while offering gamers more features and functionality for the same $59.95 MSRP. Super Arcade Football Takes To The Nintendo Switch Pitch Today

0

Cross-play allows Nintendo Switch players to kick off with others on PC and mobile.

Wimbledon, UK – September 20th, 2021 – OutOfTheBit announces that Super Arcade Football has arrived on Nintendo Switch today. With this latest launch players will have a hat trick of platforms to choose from as they enjoy the fast-paced, modern take on classic football games across Steam, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.

Super Arcade Football takes players back to an era of togetherness, allowing for up to four players to enjoy couch co-op local play. Players can also test their skills against the computer, if they want to refine their skills alone. Match modifiers keep players on their toes and can be as traditional as changing the size of the goal and game speed, or as flustering as destructive meteorites and slippery oil.

Along with quick matches, players can experience an entire Story Mode set in the same universe as OutOfTheBit’s smash hit Super Arcade Racing. Custom tournaments, featuring a number of pitches, weather conditions and more, are as fun as they are satisfying to win; but beware, the different environments affect each match in unique ways.

Fans of retro gaming are in for another treat as Barry Leitch has provided the soundtrack for Super Arcade Football, having worked on titles such as Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 and Horizon Chase Turbo. Leitch created the soundtrack in .MOD format, a file format found on Amiga computers from the 1990s, for an added old school touch. Super Arcade Football is available for $9.99/£9.99/€9.99 on Steam and Nintendo Switch but right now there’s a 50% sale on Nintendo Switch, giving players even better value for money to celebrate the launch. Whichever platform players kick off on, cross-play allows them to enjoy competition against all other platforms.

About OutOfTheBit

OutOfTheBit was founded in 2008 by Ali Motisi, who started out by making faithful digital versions of classic board and card games, including some Italian card games, as an homage to his Sicilian heritage. The company is based in Wimbledon, South London, and following the success of some of their mobile classics the company expanded and began working on original IPs. Super Arcade Football began development and was released on Steam Early Access in 2016, and Super Arcade Racing was also built on the company’s own custom engine – CerealBox.

KENA: BRIDGE OF SPIRITS NEW TRAILER DROPS AHEAD OF TOMORROW’S LAUNCH ON PS5, PS4, AND PC

Ember Lab Announces PS5 Fidelity Mode, PS5 Activities and Game Help, and Photo Mode for its Highly-Anticipated Action-Adventure

LOS ANGELES: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 – Independent game development and animation studio, Ember Lab, will release its inaugural game Kena: Bridge of Spirits Tuesday, which goes live at 4:00 AM UTC (9/21), 12:00 AM ET (9/21), 9 PM PT (9/20) on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and the Epic Games Store. Since first being revealed during Sony’s June 2020 Future of Gaming PS5 event, this story-driven action-adventure has won over fans with its stunning visuals and endearing characters to become one of the most anticipated games of the year.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits seamlessly blends a compelling narrative with exploration, puzzle-solving, and fast-paced combat. This gorgeous, immersive adventure takes players on a journey of self-discovery as Kena restores balance to an ancient village in a once-thriving environment. Players take on the role of Kena, a young Spirit Guide on a quest to uncover the mysterious story surrounding the demise of the village. Using her staff and the help of her collection of tiny companions known as Rot, the player will disarm adversaries, unlock new skills, uncover secrets, and restore the beauty of the land.

Honored earlier this year as a Tribeca Festival “Official Selection”, Kena: Bridge of Spirits was one of eight narrative games showcased for its storytelling. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is available in both a Standard Digital Edition ($39.99) and a Deluxe Digital Edition ($49.99), which includes the digital soundtrack, an in-game silver staff, and golden Rot skin exclusives. All PlayStation editions include both PS5 and PS4 digital versions of the game.

Those playing Kena on the PS5 have access to several exclusive features including full support for PlayStation Activities with more than 200 Game Help videos to increase the game’s accessibility. PS5 players also will have the option to play in “Fidelity Mode,” locked at a framerate of 30 fps with native 4k resolution for a more cinematic experience, or the PS5 version’s default “Performance Mode”, targeting 60 fps and upscaled 4K resolution to prioritize gameplay. PC players will also be happy to hear that Kena: Bridge of Spirits has DirectX 12 support.

“We were inspired to make Kena by the films and games we enjoyed together growing up, so we wanted to ensure the game was reflective and cinematic as well as challenging; an experience that would appeal to and be accessible for a broad range of players,” said Ember Lab co-founder and COO Josh Grier.

Another feature Ember Lab has been keeping under wraps that’s sure to be popular thanks to Kena’s adorable Rot companions is Photo Mode, which brings more fun aspects to the gameplay. In Photo Mode, players can pause the action to stage the game’s characters – including the Rot with the wardrobe of optional hats, then resume the action to bring them to life.   “We’re very excited to share the “Cheese!” function in Photo Mode,” shared Hunter Schmidt, Ember Lab’s Animation Director.

“When players have set up their perfect photo angle, they’ll have the option to have the characters in the photo say “CHEESE!” and strike a pose. Many characters have multiple poses, so you can snap a great variety of fun shots in the same location. I’m very excited to see what kinds of photos players will capture!”

Kena: Bridge of Spirits can still be pre-ordered today, which will unlock a special collection of exclusive celebration Rot hats, and will be available for live purchase starting tomorrow, Sep. 21 (4:00 UTC/9 PM PT), on the PlayStation and Epic Games stores.
