Surviving the Aftermath Leaves Early Access on November 16 with Endgame Content Update

Outback Radio Pack added to the Founder’s Edition – now available at a 25% discount on Steam

STOCKHOLM — October 27, 2021 — The end of the world is upon us! Surviving the Aftermath will leave early access and launch November 16 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch for a suggested retail price of $29.99 USD / £26.99 GBP / €29.99 EUR. The game will be forward compatible with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, allowing players who purchase Surviving the Aftermath for last-gen consoles to experience the game on their new devices. Paradox also announced the Outback Radio Pack has been added to the Early Access Founder’s Edition; anyone who already owns the Founder’s Edition will get the radio pack as a free content update at launch. Steam users who want to participate in Early Access before launch can purchase Surviving the Aftermath at a 25% discount until November 1.

Surviving the Aftermath leaves Early Access alongside the launch of the Endgame update, adding a rich questline and late-game colony features. Players will uncover the secrets behind the apocalypse and prepare their colony to survive another doomsday event.

Build a thriving colony and restore civilization to a devastated world in Paradox’s second installment in the Surviving series. Take up arms, fortify your gates, and fight against the hazards of the apocalypse –  bandits, natural disasters, disease – all while making the tough choices needed to see your colony through to survival. Send Specialists beyond the colony’s gates to gather resources, meet rival colonies, build outposts, and more, securing the colony’s future. Equip your Specialists with armor and weapons to defend the colony from attacking bandits and rampaging wildlife.

“After 20 major content updates focused on expanding gameplay mechanics and addressing player feedback, Surviving the Aftermath has evolved greatly from the version of the game that launched into Early Access two years ago,” said Lasse Liljedahl, Game Director for Surviving the Aftermath “I don’t think I’ve ever worked on a game where the community was as integral to development as it has been for Aftermath. Truly, every decision, change, and addition we made stemmed from our community feedback – if we could put them all in the credits we would! They had just as much a part in development as we have.”

Surviving the Aftermath Key Features:

  • Build and Manage a Colony: Build and manage a colony of survivors after a world-ending event. Construct more than 130 buildings and survive a harsh world filled with danger. Stay prepared, a natural disaster or environmental catastrophe can doom an ill-equipped settlement.
  • Recruit and Manage Specialists: Recruit over 80 unique specialists, each with their own skills and motivations, to manage your colony’s resources. Outfit your specialists with gear to defend the colony from attacking bandits and rampaging wildlife.
  • Explore a Procedurally Generated World: Send your specialists outside your colony and into a procedurally generated world. Meet rival colony leaders and trade resources or compete for survival. Specialists can set up outposts and gather materials, giving your colony an edge.
  • Make Tough Choices: Surviving the post-apocalypse means making impossible decisions. The colony’s fate depends on your judgement, every choice can impact your colony’s happiness and affect its future.
  • Discover the Truth: Specialists will stumble upon mysteries while exploring the world. Uncover secrets surrounding the apocalypse and prepare your colony for survival if it should happen again.

Surviving the Aftermath debuted first in Early Access on the Epic Games Store and Xbox Game Preview during PDX CON October 2019, and launched into Steam Early Access last October. Throughout early access, Iceflake and Paradox have incorporated player feedback into 20 major content updates, introducing features that expand the World Map and Colony systems, enhance combat, and add endgame content that sheds light on the nexus of the apocalypse. To see all the content added to Surviving the Aftermath since Early Access launch, check out the game’s roadmap

Co-op Escape Room Horror Coming To PC In Nightwell Manor

Work together to solve puzzles & uncover the mysteries hidden in the corridors of a grand mansion as you are hunted down by a killer

New Orleans, USA — October 27, 2021 – FearFX Squared are delighted to unveil their new co-op escape room horror, Nightwell Manor, currently in development for PC. The game offers a unique blend of puzzle solving, multiplayer cooperation and survive-a-killer style horror, all set in the context of a mysterious, story-driven adventure.

Set in the early 1940s, the game locks up to six players together in the eponymous Nightwell Manor, forcing them to work together to find a way out. Escape room style puzzles challenge players across the mansion’s vast grounds, each solution helping them come closer to discovering the mystery behind the manor and the rumours about its unusual owner. Through each of the game’s three acts, players will unlock a new area of the expansive manor, adding more playable space and challenge as you progress. Puzzles are randomised with every playthrough, ensuring that every run keeps players on their toes.

Adding a horror-inspired twist to the proceedings is the fact that Mr. Nightwell will be hunting you all down during your stay. Players will have to run, hide and stay quiet to avoid the murderous attention of the twisted proprietor stalking the manor’s corridors. You must be careful not to lean on the minimal sense of security the light of your flashlight might provide lest it give you away, while also being mindful of the risk of booby traps lying in wait in the darkness.

As well as uncovering the story behind Nightwell Manor, players will also find themselves taking on the roles of a cast of fascinating characters, each of which have their own motivation for coming to the manor. You and your cohorts will have to choose how to share the tools you start with, including flashlights, tools that will help you disarm traps, set up barricades to slow down the killer and so on. Additional tools can be found as you explore the manor, increasing your odds of surviving your life-threatening stay and solving those tricky escape rooms under the roof of the watchful Mr Nightwell.

The multiplayer focus of Nightwell Manor makes community feedback particularly important to the team at FearFX, so players interested in the game should consider joining the Nightwell Manor Discord server, where the team will be sharing info about the game’s development as it progresses and responding to player feedback on how to make the best version of Nightwell Manor possible.

“We’re delighted to finally reveal Nightwell Manor to the world after working away in secret for the past two years,” said Cory Schiffer, FearFX Squared CEO. “We think the game’s blend of escape room puzzles, co-op multiplier and horror survival offers something unique and we can’t wait to start getting feedback from the community as we continue to work on the game”.

Multiplayer Social Deduction Game Killer in the Cabin Announced for PC on Steam

Keep your wits about you and trust no-one, someone’s trying to kill you!

Oslo, Norway – October 27th, 2021 – Independent developer Games People Play today announced their brand new multiplayer deduction and survival game, Killer in the Cabin, is launching on Steam via Early Access on November 11th with a full launch due early next year. A closed beta is planned for 24 hours on Sunday 31st, during Halloween weekend, to get all who sign up here in the killing mood!

In Killer in the Cabin, play as a member of a group of survivors from a bus crash in the desolate Norwegian mountains, where in order to survive you must work together in order to gather supplies, discover shelter and share food as you wait for help to arrive. Stick together and you’ll make it out alive, but danger looms: there’s a hidden killer in the group, working to sabotage all survival efforts and eliminate the party, one by one.

If allocated as the killer, use the sandbox environment to get creative as you terminate your fellow survivors. Blunt violence is seldom a good idea, rather stay stealthy to avoid attention and detection. Poison the food, sabotage the survival efforts, strangle someone in their sleep or use your surroundings to pull off a deceptive hit. When the party begins to suspect who the killer is, they can vote and kill the elected suspect, whether they are guilty of the crimes or not.

With 15 minute long game sessions and multiplayer play with up to 8 players, Killer in the Cabin puts players’ communication, deception and truth-telling skills to the ultimate test. Crafty killer or innocent survivor? The voice is the most powerful tool in Killer in the Cabin, as nothing is ever more suspicious as a quiet murderer. Playing Killer in the Cabin requires a microphone, as it is critical to the core social interaction gameplay experience.

Thunderful Acquires Robot Teddy To Spearhead New Investment Pillar and Continue Self-Publishing Support

Establishment of Thunderful Investment kickstarted with two funds as funding expertise added to highly successful games publishing and development business

Gothenburg, Sweden – October 27th, 2021 – Thunderful Games is pleased to announce that it has acquired Robot Teddy as the company expands its offering to add a new investment pillar to its successful games publishing and development businesses.

With Thunderful welcoming Robot Teddy into the fold, the company will now have three key areas of business: games development, games publishing, and the new games investment pillar, Thunderful Investment, that will be led by Robot Teddy.

“The acquisition of Robot Teddy supports our strategy to grow our Games segment and the Group as a whole,” said Brjánn Sigurgeirsson, CEO of Thunderful Group. “Robot Teddy and their founder Callum Underwood have established a well-earned reputation for their work in the industry. They are exceptionally well-connected and keep their ears to the ground. Along with everything else they do, they will help us invest in superior games and studios”.

“From the moment we began thinking about adding an investment pillar to our games publishing and games development businesses, Robot Teddy stood out in our minds as the obvious partner,” said Agostino Simonetta, Chief Strategy & Investment Officer at Thunderful Games. “The proven expertise that Callum and the team at Robot Teddy bring to Thunderful will be invaluable and we are really excited about the work we are going to be doing together.”

Two New Funds Open Opportunities For Developers

Thunderful Investment will establish two new funds, which will be managed in collaboration with Robot Teddy to bridge gaps where there is currently a lack of options in the industry. As well as managing these funds, Robot Teddy will continue to offer support to developers who want to self-publish.

The first of the new Thunderful Investment funds will be targeted at the development of game prototypes and vertical slices. The paucity of prototype funding is a huge problem in a games industry that currently favours those that already have substantial financial reserves. This fund will help redress that balance and unleash the creativity of independent creators. The second fund will support the development of VR games, a booming sector that is rife with opportunity when it comes to self-publishing. VR project funding is sorely under-served, and up until this point has been focused on a small number of publishers, platform funds, or investment.

Robot Teddy brings years of experience and a demonstrable record of success working in self-publishing, funding, scouting and business development. This, combined with its background bringing indie and VR projects to fruition, makes Robot Teddy well-placed to undertake this exciting new work. With the support of Thunderful, Robot Teddy will be able to leverage its talent working in these areas more effectively than ever before.

Robot Teddy will continue to be headed up by founder Callum Underwood, with Ranjani Natarajan as COO, and continue to work with its clients and partners, which include Among Us developer Innersloth, SUPERHOT, Gang Beasts developer Boneloaf, What The Golf? developer Triband, Bunnyhug and many more. For these clients and others, Robot Teddy manages business development, release management, and strategy.

“I’m delighted to be joining Thunderful. Having them believe in our vision and goals, and understand the path we want to forge for self-published devs in the industry, is rare and wonderful.” said Robot Teddy founder Callum Underwood. “They’re giving us the support we need to develop and implement long-term plans that just wouldn’t be possible otherwise. We get to manage our own funds, we get to still work with all our clients, and we still get to be Robot Teddy. Hooray!”

The Eerie Mirny Calls Players Back This Halloween in World of Tanks

There’s a mystery to be unraveled at the heart of this lifeless town

October 27, 2021 — The spooky season is here and a new operation, code named Hope, will have World of Tanks players returning to brave the harsh and unsettling conditions of Mirny from October 28th. A mysterious story lies at the centre of this once-bustling town, and it’s up to players to find out exactly what is happening and, more importantly, why.

Mirny was once a populated oil-producing industrial town. But one day that all changed. A major incident occurred that seemed to be almost supernatural, a state of emergency was declared and a mass evacuation was ordered. This once booming town, full of promise, became desolate. Some brave scouts were ordered to venture into Mirny to find out its secrets, and only few returned.

Now, Recon Squads of up to 5 tankers are being created to go in search of answers to the question: “What really happened in Mirny?” Those who are eager to find out the truth will need to take on AI-controlled vehicles, unlike anything seen on the regular World of Tanks battlefield. The battle is made up of three phases if playing on the lowest difficulty setting, and four if on medium or the hardest level. A monstrous and formidable foe, the Immortal, awaits those rising to the challenge of the higher difficulties and make it to the fourth phase. Defeating this behemoth will take all players’ might and skill, but the rewards will definitely be worth it.

The backstory of how this once invincible beast became vulnerable will feature on this event’s collectibles: Reels. There are eight to be found, each containing some important background information on the Immortal. However, these items have been encrypted and players will be need special keys to decipher them, which can be earned throughout the event, as well as claimed through the Creepin’ It Real Prime Gaming drop. The bravest and unshakable commanders who decode all eight reels and understand this enigmatic locale will be awarded the King Tiger (Captured), a Tier VII Premium American heavy tank, as well as a unique and exclusive Mirny-inspired 3D style, Nox Tenebris.

Players will be able to brave Mirny once again until November 11th. For more information about the event, visit https://worldoftanks.asia/.

And for mobile tank battle fans, World of Tanks Blitz has prepared a Halloween-themed event that will run until November 4th. In this event, tankers must win battles or earn Mastery Badges in Tier IV-X vehicles to get Magfilms, this event’s special commodity. These can then be used to unlock levels which will bring great rewards, such as the incredible new Tier V Titan Mk. I and Tier VII Titan H-N tanks (which features experimental armor!), thematic camos, containers with resources and much more. For more information, visit: wotblitz.com

Chivalry 2: Fight Knight Update Adds Brawl Mode, Last Team Standing, the Rapier, Headbutts and More, Wrapped in a Limited-Time Halloween Event

Tripwire Presents and Torn Banner Studios Launch Free Fight Knight Update for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Sydney, AU – Oct. 27, 2021 – Developer Torn Banner Studios, publisher Tripwire Presents, and global retail publishing partner Deep Silver have announced the launch of the free Chivalry 2: Fight Knight update for the award-winning multiplayer hit and 2021 nominee for the Golden Joysticks Best PC Game and Best Multiplayer Game of the Year.

Out now for PC (via Epic Games Store), the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 computer entertainment systems, the Xbox One family of devices, and the Xbox Series X|S console systems, the Chivalry 2: Fight Knight update adds an all-new Brawl mode, Last Team Standing mode, and a new swashbuckling Rapier weapon.

In addition, combat becomes even more outrageous now that players with dismembered arms can use headbutts for one last chance at taking down rivals. All this and more comes wrapped in a seasonal Halloween event, filling the ultimate medieval battlefield with festive and spooky decorations.

“Chivalry 2 is going to live for a very long time,” said Torn Banner Studios CEO & Creative Director Steve Piggott. “We’ve already confirmed content planned for release all the way through the end of 2022 and remain committed to doubling the size and scope of Chivalry 2 as our team continues work on updates, like today’s Fight Knight release.”

Watch the newly released developer diary here:

Chivalry 2: Fight Knight update key features include:

  • Brawl Mode and Maps: Leave your weapons at the door for the all-new brawl mode designed to capture the rowdy and chaotic feel of a tavern brawl. Take a seat! Literally. And then smash someone’s face with it!
    • Two Brawl Maps: Up to 40 players can join the fray in The Great Hall and Rudhelm Feast.
    • Found Objects: Players can pick up and wield just about anything they can find across the map. Embrace the chaos and grab chairs, beer steins, rolling pins, sausages, and giant fish to beat down your rivals!
  • Last Team Standing Mode: Players looking for more realistic team battles can expect the return of top-requested mode from the original Chivalry: Medieval Warfare! Stakes are high, as these 40-player battles have no respawns. The last team/person standing is crowned as the winning team.
  • Headbutt Combat: It’s only a flesh wound! Chivalry 2’s limb loss combat system sees the most brutal and outrageous update yet. Now, when a player has lost both limbs in combat, they can execute an arm-less headbutt attack for a last chance at taking down an opponent before bleeding out.
  • Rapier Weapon: This new fencing weapon type also introduces a new swashbucklingcombat style with more focus on fast-movements and flourishes.
  • Halloween Event: Running from Oct. 26 through Nov. 7, players can look forward to Chivalry 2’s first-ever seasonal event with new cosmetics, like the pumpkinhelm, and Halloween themed decorations and interactive objects, like giant Jack O Lanterns that can be weaponised.
    • Rudhelm Siege, Dark Forest, Great Hall (Brawl mode), and Wardenglade (Free-for-All and Last Team Standing modes) will feature these limited-time Halloween decorations.
  • Arena Mode Improvements: New improvements to Arena include an offline practice mode for teams to hone their skills and teamwork as well as overall polish improvements, including a new winner’s podium cutscene.
  • Armory Updates: In addition to the new Rapier weapon, players can all look forward to a wide array of new cosmetics and skins to unlock, including armour sets, new female armour skins, new helmet skins, new weapon skins, and even a fancy moustache!

Chivalry 2 is a multiplayer first-person slasher inspired by epic medieval movie battles. Players are thrust into the action of every iconic moment of the era from clashing swords and storms of flaming arrows to sprawling castle sieges, and more. Dominate massive battlefields while catapults tear the earth apart as players lay siege to castles, set fire to villages, and slaughter filthy peasants in the return of Team Objective maps.

Improving on the original genre-defining Chivalry: Medieval Warfare in every way, Chivalry 2 invites players to master the blade with an all-new and improved combat system that combines real-time strikes and a free-flowing combo system to speed up the action and let players become a whirlwind of steel on the battlefield. Created with the ability to fight multiple foes in mind, Chivalry 2’s combat mixes the best of both FPS and fighting game genres for an unmatched melee experience.

Chivalry 2 has an RRP of AUD $59.95 for the Standard Edition or AUD $79.95 for the Special Edition, with a classification rating of R 18+(High impact violence, online interactivity and in-game purchases). We want to breathe life into that vision and allow more people to appreciate it. We want to take on the challenging ideas that when done well create truly powerful and unique games that are remembered. You say it can’t be done? We say bring it on.

About Tripwire Interactive
Formed in 2005 as a humble independent developer and founded by gamers who found success in the video game modding community, Tripwire Interactive has developed and self-published multiple critically acclaimed titles in the wildly popular Killing Floor and Rising Storm franchises, which have collectively sold over 20 million units to date. The studio’s most recent hit release, Maneater, breaks new ground in the popular action RPG genre and finds players taking on the role of a deadly shark with the uncanny ability to evolve as it feeds.

Since then, Tripwire Interactive has expanded its business with the publishing division, Tripwire Presents, turning its experience and resources to include publishing titles spanning multiple platforms and genres from other talented independent studios. Tripwire Presents aims to help like-minded independent studios bring their titles to market, including Chivalry 2 developed by Torn Banner Studios, Espire 1: VR Operative developed by Digital Lode, and Road Redemption developed by EQ Games and Pixel Dash Studios.
