‘Halloween’ Slashes into PAX East with First-Ever Playable Demo, Star-Studded Panel

IllFonic debuts exclusive 1v4 experience on PS5, hosts a ‘Halloween’ panel, and more

Lakewood, CO – Feb. 25, 2026 – The first playable demo for Halloween, the asymmetrical stealth horror game, debuts at PAX East in Boston from March 26-29, 2026. Developer and publisher IllFonic, co-publisher Gun Interactive, and partners Compass International Pictures and Further Front will also host a panel featuring Malek Akkad, who will be joined virtually by John Carpenter before attempting the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the “Largest gathering of people dressed as Michael Myers (Halloween franchise).”

Step into a 1v4 online multiplayer experience, with one player embodying the relentless Michael Myers while four others fight to survive. True to the haunting spirit of the original 1978 classic, IllFonic has meticulously crafted the gameplay, locations, ambiance, music, and art direction to reflect the film’s unmistakable eerie tone. Every shadow, quiet street, and flicker of light feeds into an experience designed to recreate the dread that shaped a generation of horror.

The PAX East demo features the map, Haddonfield Heights, a deceptively quiet Midwestern neighborhood filled with modest single-story homes, fenced yards, dimly lit streets, and the abandoned Myers house. Civilians scavenge car trunks, search for escape routes, barricade themselves inside homes, and slip into risky hiding spots, all while Michael stalks from the darkness in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse.

On Saturday, March 28, at 12:00 pm, at PAX East’s Main Theater, IllFonic will host a panel exploring how developers and original creators collaborate to build authentic interactive worlds. The discussion will feature Malek Akkad, President of Compass International Pictures, Inc.; Ryan Freimann, SVP of Compass International Pictures, Inc.; IllFonic’s Chief Creative Officer, Jared Gerritzen; and Design Director, Jordan Mathewson. They will be joined virtually by John Carpenter, Director of the original 1978 film. The panel is offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the game honors its cinematic roots while evolving into a new medium.

Later on the same day, at 3:30 pm, fans are invited to take part in an ambitious attempt for the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the “Largest gathering of people dressed as Michael Myers (Halloween franchise)”, at the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center, the venue hosting PAX East. Participants must be dressed in Michael’s signature look: the Shape mask, blue jumpsuit, slicked-back brown hair or appropriate wig, and a prop knife.

Halloween launches on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

To dig deeper into IllFonic and its titles, visit IllFonic’s official website and follow Halloween’s official socials on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit, and join the official Discord to get the latest news as development continues.

Raw Fury’s Fantasy CRPG Esoteric Ebb Launches March 3 for PC

Solve The Mystery of An Exploded Tea Shop and Dice-Roll Through Political Chaos in This Upcoming Isometric CRPG

STOCKHOLM – Feb. 25, 2026 – Today during IGN Fan Fest 2026, Swedish indie publisher Raw Fury and developer Christoffer Bodegård announced that their fantasy CRPG, Esoteric Ebb, will launch on March 3 for PC.

Players will soon be able to step into Esoteric Ebb’s isometric, Disco-inspired TTRPG-turned-CRPG gameplay, which features deep, branching dialogue and staggering player choice, in a richly imagined Arcanepunk fantasy world.

In Esoteric Ebb, the player is the Cleric, one of many menial laborers of the city of Norvik. Tasked to solve the mystery of an exploded Tea Shop, players will roll dice against the voices in their head, explore a fantasy city on the brink of its first-ever election, and strive to become a hero of legends. Or completely ruin the campaign.

Key features in Esoteric Ebb include:

  • Make choices that may come back to bite – Complete open-ended quests, low and high-stakes alike, set in the streets, towers, and dark tunnels of Norvik. Become the city’s savior or its demise.
  • Roll the dice – Roll to wrestle dwarves, steal anything in sight, or keep from looking like a complete fool. But remember, in true TTRPG fashion, failure can often be way more interesting.
  • Warp reality to your whim – Use The Cleric’s innate magical power for unique narrative choices. Control minds for fun and profit. Detect secrets in the tunnels below or within the minds of enemies.
  • Master turn-based combat sequences – Clerics in Norvik are taught to use violence as a last resort. When the need does arise, a roll of the dice determines success or failure ala the best tabletop RPGs.
  • Progress through the story to complete the Questing Tree – A quest log, skill tree, and mind map all at once. Each Quest Branch can take root in your mind and alter the Cleric’s playstyle through game-changing feats.

ARK: SURVIVAL ASCENDED ASTRAEOS MEGA UPDATE AVAILABLE NOW

Five-Headed Hydra Boss, The Grand Tortugar Mobile Fortress, and New Desert Wasteland Arrive – Gameplay Trailer Debuts at IGN Fan Fest

SEATTLE, WA – February 25, 2026 – Studio Wildcard today unleashes the “Astraeos Mega Update,” a massive expansion to the mythic, Greek Odyssey-inspired world in ARK: Survival Ascended. This massive update introduces the Pyranthos landmass, a tamable amphibious fortress, and a brutal five-headed Hydra boss encounter. During today’s IGN Fan Fest, the first gameplay trailer revealing the new Pyranthos region debuted and the update is available now to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S, Epic Games Store and Steam.

Originally launched as a community mod by acclaimed creator Nekatus before becoming an Official Partner DLC, Astraeos continues to evolve with new creatures, bosses, cosmetics, and myth-inspired gameplay challenges. The Astraeos Mega Update marks the largest expansion to the map since its debut. This week the Astraeos map is 67% off on Steam and Xbox ($4.94 USD) – the biggest discount yet!

WHAT’S NEW IN ASTRAEOS?

The Pyranthos Wasteland
Astraeos expands with a vast new desert region shaped by myth and ruin. Shifting sands reveal forgotten structures, buried pathways, and unexplored artifact caves, while powerful creatures roam both surface and subterranean depths. This hostile new zone is built for exploration and punishes the unprepared.

The Grand Tortugar
To survive the dangerous wasteland, you’ll need more than shelter. The Grand Tortugar is a colossal amphibious living fortress built for endurance. Traverse land and ocean floor while harvesting valuable resources, open its armored carapace to create a roaming command post, or seal it shut to transform into a nearly unbreakable bastion. It’s not just a mount – it’s a war machine.

A Herculean Challenge Arises!
Buried deep within the Pyranthos ruins lies Astraeos’ greatest threat yet! The five-headed Hydra will demand teamwork, timing, and overwhelming firepower. Severing each head from the body changes the flow of combat, forcing teams to work together or fall to the beast.

ARK: Survival Ascended includes access to all of ARK’s worlds, including Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, ARK Genesis Part 1 and Part 2. Available now on PlayStation 5Xbox Series X|SWindows PC and Steam, players will create a Survivor, form a tribe, and then tame, train, breed & ride dinosaurs within a living ecosystem.

Reigns: The Witcher is a grand Witcher adventure like no other, and it’s available now on PC and mobile

Nerial and Devolver Digital have teamed up with CD PROJEKT RED to create Reigns: The Witcher, a fresh dark-fantasy take on the multi-million-selling Reigns series, available now on PC and mobile platforms.

Step into the muddy boots of professional monster slayer Geralt of Rivia — but this time, from a different perspective. Throughout CD PROJEKT RED’s The Witcher series of games, players have followed Geralt’s adventures on the Path. Now, in Reigns: The Witcher, the legends take on a life of their own through the gilded tongue of Geralt’s oldest friend: Dandelion the bard. Every choice is a verse, every misstep a stanza, and every bath an opportunity for a ballad.

Swipe Your Destiny

From contracts and conspiracies to angry villagers and hotheaded sorceresses, your decisions carry weight across the Continent. A casual swipe left or right may win you renown among nobles, enrage a rabble of mages, or leave you knee-deep in drowners. As any good witcher knows, few requests are as simple as they first appear.

Familiar Faces, Tall Tales

Along the Path you’ll find the company of Yennefer, Triss, Vesemir, and a roster of other beloved allies and adversaries. But remember: when filtered through Dandelion’s quill, even the most mundane of errands can become an audacious epic — or a slightly exaggerated disaster.

Songs, Swords, and Swipes

Players will weave Geralt’s legend through branching stories, bardic embellishments, and thousands of narrative combinations, with Dandelion himself conducting the chorus of fate. Between verses, the White Wolf still gets plenty of work done: combat minigames pit Geralt against drowners, rotfiends, and other foes both real and curiously improvised.

The Bard’s Encore

From taverns to far-flung villages, Reigns: The Witcher invites players to expand Dandelion’s ever-growing repertoire. Perform new “greatest hits” across the land, twist familiar stories into fresh tales, and shape the saga of the White Wolf — in ways both dramatic and absurd — on your quest for lyrical immortality.

Whether you’re crafting an epic for the ages or just trying not to drown in a swamp,Reigns: The Witcher will offer a new perspective on one of gaming’s most storied heroes — one swipe, one song, and one scandal at a time.Reigns: The Witcher is available now on PC and mobile platforms for 5,99€.
