Dolmen Releasing May 20th, 2022 – New trailer showcasing cooperative and multiplayer modes unveiled

Sydney, Australia, March 8, 2022  –  Prime Matter and Massive Work Studio are happy to announce that Dolmen – the third-person action role playing game (RPG) with a unique cosmic horror sci-fi setting – will be releasing on 20th May 2022. The game can now be pre-ordered and  will be available on PlayStation® 4, PlayStation® 5, Xbox One, X Box Series X | S  and PC.

A new trailer has also been released, showcasing the cooperative and multiplayer game modes is also unveiling today. Players will be able to fight bosses together as people will be able to join before each bossfight. There will also be a special Day One Edition which will contain a unique set of Rebel armour and weapons.

The Game

Set in a sci-fi universe, where humanity has colonised several star systems using space travel technology and genetic manipulation to adapt to the conditions; Dolmen has players battling across a distant planet – Revion Prime – trying to unravel a mystery of alien species, corrupt corporations and unknown dimensions. Behind everything appears to be an alien species called Vahani,  who roam the universe altering the genetic makeup of other species; however it remains to be seen if their motives are noble or more malevolent. It’s suspected that a crystal called Dolmen is the key to their work; Revion Prime has an abundance of Dolmen and you need to unravel its secrets.

Day One Rebel Set

The Day One edition contains numerous unique items for players, enhancing their journey across Revion Prime. Created by genetically modified humans – the so called Xenospecies – the gear helps the user adapt to the rigours of space. The Rebel Set contains a full set of armour, sword and axe; ideal for dispatching your enemies and keeping you safe from harm.

Everything You Need to Know About WWE 2K22’s Innovative New MyFACTION Mode

Collect Superstars, managers, and boosts, form the ultimate WWE stable, and take on regularly updated challenges

With the launch of WWE® 2K22 just days away, 2K is sharing today a quick guide to the franchise-first MyFACTION mode.

MyFACTION is a new take on a classic team-building mode in which players collect, manage, and upgrade an array of WWE Superstars and Legends to create their ultimate four-person factions. Managers and Side Plates boost performance, while Logos, Wallpapers, and Nameplates allow for creative customization.

Building the perfect faction to rival legendary groups such as the nWo, D-Generation X, and Evolution is no small task. Some useful tips to remember:

  • Players must make important choices when it comes to selecting the best Superstars for their factions and deploying the right boosts to take down the competition;
  • In need of some major muscle?  Draft your favorite Powerhouse into action, like Big E or Rhea Ripley. If speed and devastating martial arts are in order, a Striker like Shinsuke Nakamura may be the way to go;
  • Between a roster packed with Superstars and Legends, and a wide range of specialized Side Plates, countless combinations are available, and experimentation is encouraged.

Ready to hit the squared circle? MyFACTION players can pit their four-person factions against other fearsome foursomes in Faction Wars, test their mettle across various match types in Proving Grounds, topple a new Tower every week, or complete an assortment of daily challenges. There are three types of in-game currency available in MyFACTION:

  • MyFACTION Points – which can be exchanged for card packs and contracts – are awarded for completing matches and challenges;
  • MyFACTION Tokens – which can be used in the Token Rewards market to unlock powerful WWE Superstar and Legend cards – are also awarded for completing matches and challenges; and
  • Virtual Currency – which is available for purchase and can be used exclusively in MyFACTION on card packs, boxes, and contracts.

As an important reminder, anything that players can unlock with Virtual Currency can also be unlocked with MyFACTION Points. In addition, MyFACTION is an online single-player only experience, so players cannot gain a competitive advantage over other players by purchasing Virtual Currency.

Additional rewards can be earned in certain MyFACTION modes, including Weekly Towers and Faction Wars, where exciting, limited-time rewards refresh each month. New themed card packs will roll out frequently, offering players a legion of current Superstars and beloved Legends to add to their collections.

Players can begin building their dream factions when WWE 2K22 is available on March 11, 2022*. For more information on WWE 2K22, visit the game’s official website, become a fan on Facebook, follow the game on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #WWE2K22 or subscribe on YouTube.

Visual Concepts is a 2K studio. 2K is a wholly owned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO).

*WWE 2K22 Standard Edition and Cross-Gen Bundle will be available March 11, 2022. WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition and nWo 4-Life Digital Edition will be available on March 8, 2022.

Hustle and Scuffle Your Way Through the Steampunk Streets of Alchemical INC.

Welcome to New Folk City where cards are more than just a game, they are the currency you live by.

Independent developer Looch Labs are excited to announce their first title, Alchemical INC., a steampunk roguelike where card battles play out through the management of steam-powered machines called alchemical kits. Explore the grubby streets of New Folk City, hustle with the locals to build your deck, and scuffle with Alchemists to earn cards. If you want to eat, you need the cards!

Filling the young shoes of a kid living in the shadow of the Alchemical INC. factory, you’ll need to scurry down to the streets below every day to buy food for your family. How do you pay for this food? Through the currency of cards.

The overworld of New Folk City is littered with gritty streets full of mobsters, schemers, and Alchemists. Maneuvering, negotiating, and defeating these colorful characters will reward you with new cards, alchemical kit parts, and even food for your family.

Card battling, or more specifically, alchemical kits are the very heart of New Folk City. Everyone wants to be an Alchemist, but very few possess the skill, knowledge, and patience to safely and effectively manage their machines to victory.

The core cards of Alchemical INC are elementals, each representing a different real-world element such as Thermite, Zinc, or Water. Positioning these elementals into your alchemical kit allows you to charge the machine for powerful attacks on your opponent. To up the ante, you can combine different elements to find new recipes and create even more powerful combos within your machine.

Playing your elementals is only half the battle. Your alchemical kit processes elements and other cards in a specific order, which can be manipulated. Not only do you need to think of what elemental to play but in what order you fuse them.

Hustling in the streets of New Folk City will also reward you with other unique cards, including action cards that react to your opponent’s elements, Punch cards that provide passive abilities to your alchemical kit, and new Alchemist cards that can alter the archetype of your deck. With over 300 cards planned for Alchemical INC. the deckbuilding possibilities and fusing opportunities are massive.

If you would like to explore the streets of New Folk City yourself feel free to shuffle down below to request a preview key for Alchemical INC. Make sure you bring your A-game kiddo, or this could be a painful one for you.

DEAL DEATH TO THE UNDEAD — OR RISE UP ALONGSIDE THEM — IN OMNI’S NIGHTMARE

NARAKA’s all-new faction clash hits official servers March 11; Omni’s Nightmare is NARAKA’s very own ‘zombie mode’ and a tactical, teamwork-oriented take on the genre.

Hangzhou, March 7th 2022 | Leading Chinese developer, 24 Entertainment, is pleased to announce its all new in-game mode, Omni’s Nightmare, where players are pitted against each other, as Heroes or the undead Evil-EntEvil-Ents; in the ultimate fight for survival. Naraka’s zombies are not the lumbering, decaying, shuffling variety; they are fast, they have fight moves, they can level up from securing kills — and they’re a bit handy at lobbing axes too!

In Omni’s Nightmare, players will be randomly assigned to one of three factions: Evil-Ent Evil-Ent, Evil-Ent LordEvil-Ent and the Heroes. If you’re assigned the role of The Hero, you win when all three of the Soul Sparks are lit. If you find yourselves in the body of the undead with The Evil-EntEvil-Ent’s or The Evil-EntEvil-Ent Lord, your way to victory will consist of defeating all The Heroes or if The Heroes fail to light the Soul Sparks in the allotted time.

Gameplay Showcase: Omni’s Nightmare Mode Introduction

While playing as the Hero (Human) for the first part of the match, you will only be equipped with ranged weapons and no ultimate move. You’ll need to fight your way through the onslaught to collect resources and submit them to 1 of 3 basements scattered around the map. Be wary of the Evel-EntEvil-Ent (Zombie) players though, they move incredibly fast, have the ability to leap to high places and also throw axes, which deal notable damage. Once you reach particular requirements, the game will move into Phase 2, in which a portal will appear and much stronger weapons are at your disposal. As a remaining human, you’ll need to fight your way through the portal realm, slaying your zombie enemies along the way with your reinforced weapons and your ultimate move (which also becomes available in Phase 2).

The map in this game mode consists of the EmberEmbers and the Shadow Corruption. Each of the EmbersEmber contains a Soul Spark, whereas the Shadow Corruption contains several Soul Lantern. Straying too far into the Shadow Corruption will cause damage to your health as a Hero, whereas remaining in the EmbersEmber — or in close proximity to a Soul Lantern — will replenish your health. Heroes must collect Rattans that can only be found in the Shadow Corruption and transport them to Soul Spark in the EmberEmber. As a Evil-Ent or Evil-Ent Lord, you’ll lose health over time while in the Ember, while you will be unaffected by the Shadow Corruption.

If it goes down to the wire, the game enters overtime; if the Heroes have ignited at least 240% of their Soulshines. Heroes and Evil-Ents will both need to grasp this last chance for victory!

Communication is key in Omni’s Nightmare, and it is vital to tap into your full potential and use the voice chat function provided. Evil-Ents and Heroes can only communicate to nearby members of their faction; whereas the Evil-Ent Lord can hear and be heard by all.

Make sure to keep up to date with all the latest NARAKA: BLADEPOINT action on the NARAKA site, Twitter, Facebook, Twitch, Steam, and Discord.

Martha is Dead Review

Martha is Dead

Developer: LKA
Publisher: Wired Productions
Platforms: PC (Reviewed), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X
Release Date: 24 February 2022
Price: $29.99 USD / $42.95 AUD – Available Here

Overview

Martha is Dead is a narrative-driven horror adventure. It takes place during the Second World War, a very unsettling and complicated period of human history. Suffering is routine, and now, death knocks upon the protagonist’s door. Many video game authors choose to avoid WWII themes when writing a more serious and mature story. Developer LKA, however, boldly decided to weave its suspenseful and macabre tale using such a controversial time period as background. Everything is presented in a very authentic manner. Nothing is censored: Swastikas can be seen imprinted on letters and elsewhere. There are also depictions of extreme brutality, mutilated corpses among other niceties: All presented in a very photo-realistic way. Martha is Dead is definitely not a game for everyone. Even then, it succeeds in telling a gripping and thought-provoking story that helps elevate video games artistically as a medium, but not without some hiccups along the way.

Story

The story takes place in 1944 at the peak of the Second World War. Giulia, the daughter of a German general, lives a rather tranquil life in Italy, despite the war that’s raging on. That is until she finds the corpse of a woman floating over a river. The corpse belongs to none other than her deaf twin sister, Martha. Giulia is horrified and confused, but deliberately stays silent when her parents inquire about what happened. Since nobody can tell the two sisters apart, Giulia decides to assume Martha’s identity. Now, Giulia is determined to find who killed her sister.

Martha is Dead isn’t a simple story of a girl playing detective to find the culprit for the murder of her twin sister. It’s far more intricate than that. Like a real person, Giulia must deal with her doubts, fears, delusions, and her complicated relationship with her parents. The story is presented in a deliberately confusing and dreamlike way, but not excessively so: It makes sense enough for any player to grasp the overarching plot.

Gameplay

As with many games of its kind, Martha is Dead can be classified as a “walking simulator” of sorts. Exploration is presented in a first-person view. Fortunately, the gameplay is not only limited to just walking from point a to b while listening to Giulia’s monologues (Although I found myself captivated by Giulia’s personality at some points). The player can interact with points of interest, walk, run, and even make use of other manners of transportation such as a bicycle or a boat.

Giulia is an amateur photographer. Using equipment true to what you’d find in 1944, the player can photograph anything using a variety of lenses and films. There’s even a dark room to develop photos. Some of these photos are key items to the continuity of the story, but you can take photos of whatever you want, if you find the idea fun enough.

Although Martha is Dead is mostly a linear story, there are some objectives that you can skip. Some of these objectives can change the outcome of a given chapter. The ending you’ll get, also depends on what you did or didn’t do. There are also hidden photo locations, equipment for your camera, and places that are missable: These are certainly a welcome addition because they encourage exploration. I believe that these elements add more enjoyment to the game, besides extending its longevity.

Visuals

LKA, being a developer based in Italy, had the opportunity to collect material in loco for Martha is Dead’s visuals. The graphics are beautiful and feature true to life landscapes of the Tuscany region. The buildings are very well done most of the time, especially the inside of Giulia’s house. The forests that abound in the region feature thick and detailed vegetation. This same artistic care is also prevalent when speaking about human models: Giulia and, by extension, Martha, have detailed bodies and faces. Another graphical aspect worthy of mention, since this is such a brutal game, are the gory scenes: They’re sure to make your skin crawl, unless you’re a hardcore horror movie buff. It’s not only the fact that LKA has put such care in constructing these scenes, but the contexts in which they happen.

Unfortunately, a number of issues plague the current build of Martha is Dead. There are constant stutters, frame drops, and also graphical inconsistencies: Vegetation and objects flicker horribly at some points. Some of these visual glitches appear randomly, while others persist in certain parts of the game. All this can detract heavily from the overall atmosphere and immersion. This review is based on the version available at the time of publication. LKA is consistently releasing patches to alleviate such problems, so I expect that the game will soon be in an at least near perfect state.

Audio

There’s a lot going on with regard to the audio in Martha is Dead. Besides a variety of dialogues and Giulia’s insightful thoughts and monologues, there is also a radio that, when not relaying news about the war, will play songs from the time that the game takes place in. A cacophony of sounds which seems derived from some stringed instruments will play during the more tense and horrific moments. They’re not exactly fear-inducing, but unpleasant and disturbing, which fits what the developers generally wanted to convey with the story in the game. Other tracks and songs play at certain key moments. All in all, Martha is Dead’s soundtrack is varied and superbly done. There are a number of voice-over options, but since the game takes place in Italy, I decided to use the Italian VO, and I’m glad I did: the Italian voice acting is fantastic and a nice change of pace of all the English and Japanese VOs that I’ve been accustomed to.

Overall

Finishing Martha is Dead was not the easiest of tasks for me. Its themes and depictions of extreme human suffering left me with a knot in my stomach. Martha is Dead is a testament of LKA’s expertise in portraying such serious and mature themes in video game form. Despite my uneasiness and the unfortunate technical problems present in the PC version, Martha is Dead was an awesome experience. There’s still more that I need to see, since I got what I presume is the worst ending. I’ll leave the conclusion for when I’m over digesting this bittersweet meal.

This migration includes any Characters, GTA$, Progression, Stats, Vehicles, Properties, Weapons, Clothing, and Player-Created Jobs.*

Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online will be available digitally on March 15 through the PlayStation 5 console store and the Microsoft Store — with pre-purchase and pre-load beginning on March 8 — and physical releases coming in April. Stay tuned for more details.

*For GTA Online platform migrations, purchased GTA$ can only be transferred between platforms of the same family (PS4 -> PS5, Xbox One -> Xbox Series). All earned GTA$ will transfer regardless of platform.
