Earlier this year we heard that Street Fighter 6 would finally be on the way and now not only has Capcom announced that the game will not be an exclusive like Street Fighter 5 was but they have also shown off gameplay footage, a new character, Chun-Li, and a brand new mode sure to please fans of single player modes. Street Fighter 6 will be releasing sometime in 2023 and will arrive on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Characters such as the returning Ryu and Chun-Li, the final addition to last game’s roster Luke, and the new character expert breakdancer / drunken boxer Jamie are shown off as well as three distinct game modes, including Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub. Street Fighter 6 unites core fighting modes from previous titles—including Arcade Mode, online matches, Training Mode, local versus battles and more to the Fighting Ground experience.World Tour is a single-player immersive story mode that pushes the boundaries of what a fighting game is and allows players to leave their own legacy with their player avatar. Finally Battle Hub is a destination that provides players with new and unique ways to engage, communicate and interact.
Street Fighter 6 will also feature a first-ever Real-Time Commentary Feature, supported with subtitles in 13 languages, incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Vicious and Aru directly into the game to narrate what is happening on-screen just like a real tournament. The game also introduces the Drive System, a new gauge used to perform five distinct techniques that enhance a player’s offensive or defensive capabilities.
A Drive Impact is a powerful strike that can absorb an opponent’s incoming attack and can lead to a wall splat. Use Drive Parry to repel your opponent’s attack and refill your Drive Gauge. Cancel out of a Drive Parry or normal attack into a Drive Rush to quickly close in on your opponent. Overdrive Arts are similar to EX Moves from past games that power up your Special Moves. Use Drive Reversal to perform a counterattack to get you out of tight situations.
During their latest State of Play Sony gave Studio Sai a portion of time to reveal that they have a brand new game that they are deeming a “dating action game” called Eternights and will be releasing it on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC sometime in early 2023. The company describes the title as a dating action game where players will blend a love story with “adrenaline-driven” combat as the characters make the most out of life during an apocalypse.
One day, something, or someone, has turned humans into dangerous monsters. All that interests them now is violence and power. When players aren’t exploring dungeons, you can choose to spend time growing closer to a cast of five quirky and loveable characters. Explore their stories and grow closer to them to unlock unique skills and spells you can use in battle.
Regardless of what players do, they will need to keep an eye on the clock because time passes while fighting, dating, and more and as time passes so do the days they have left to grow stronger and continue their journey. The reveal trailer for Eternights and a large number of screenshots can be found below.

This third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Capcom has made things official and have announced that the Resident Evil 4 remake is on the way and it also has a set release date already. Resident Evil 4 will be arriving on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 24, 2023 and the company also stated that some special content will also be included for those with the PlayStation VR2.
The company detailed that Resident Evil 4 is a remake of the original Resident Evil 4 released in 2005. Resident Evil 4 preserves the essence of the original while using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine to deliver modernized gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics.
Resident Evil 4joins Leon S. Kennedy six years after his hellish experiences in the biological disaster of Raccoon City. His unmatched resolve caused him to be recruited as an agent reporting directly to the president of the United States. With the experience of multiple missions on his back, Leon is dispatched to rescue the president’s recently kidnapped daughter. Leon tracks her to a secluded European village, however after making first contact he discovers a fervor beyond reason grips the local populace.
Many have wondered just when to expect the next Dragon Age game would arrive and while EA didn’t have any news for those people today, they did have at least the official name for the game. Electronic Arts and BioWare have announced that the next game in the series will be named Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. No platforms or expected release window were detailed outside of stating that more info will be arriving later this year but the company did detail just who the Dread Wolf might be.
Solas, the Dread Wolf. Some say he might be an ancient Elven god, but some say not. Others say a betrayer of his people… or a savior who now seeks to rescue them at the cost of your world. His motives are inscrutable and his methods sometimes questionable, earning him a reputation as something of a trickster deity—a player of dark and dangerous games. Whether players are new to Dragon Age stories or have experienced them all, using Solas’s namesake no doubt suggests a spectrum of endless possibilities on where things may go.
What’s great about independent games is that they have more room to experiment. Card Shark is the perfect example of that; it’s a game that allows players to become master con-artists in playing cards. This is an interesting idea that hasn’t been done previously.
Nerial, the studio that created the game, is not new to experimental games. They have already worked on other games that also have unique concepts.
Story
The game is set during the 18th century before the French Revolution. The story follows an alternate version of French history. Most of the characters are based on real historical figures such as Diderot or d’Alembert, and all of the cities present in the game exist in real life.
Our hero is an ordinary young man living in a tavern. His only particularity is that he’s mute. After meeting the Comte de Saint-Germain, a known impostor, his life will change. The Compte will teach him a simple card cheating technique. But as the pair try to trick someone, they are discovered, leading to the hero’s caretaker’s death. He will then follow and live with the Comte, who will teach him more cheating techniques involving playing cards.
We follow the characters as they try to undercover the truth behind a royal conspiracy known as “the twelve bottles of milk.” The writing is not exactly where the game shines. The main characters are written well enough, but the story as a whole isn’t very engaging.
Gameplay
Card Shark is best enjoyed with a gamepad, the game says so itself, the gameplay is simple to understand but can sometimes be hard to master.
The different cheating techniques become more complex as the game progresses. It’s great because it gives players a real sense of progression when they’re able to achieve tricks that are harder to execute. The gameplay consists of minigames, some are purely time-based while others require more reflection to be executed correctly. It is incredibly satisfying to cheat successfully.
Explanations regarding the tricks are clear and easy to understand. If they need a reminder, players can read over them again at any time. When a new cheating technique is unlocked, players can practice them as much as they want to, to fully understand it.
Overall, the game tries its best to be accessible; even someone that isn’t familiar with cards can play the game, thanks to added explanations regarding suits and the different values of cards. The characters travel through France with the help of a map. Most of the time, multiple locations are available at the same time, meaning that players will not be stuck even if they don’t master a technique yet.
The challenge mostly comes from the suspicion meter our opponents have. Players have to be quick when they cheat, or the person they try to deceive will get more and more suspicious. At the beginning of each round, players have the possibility to pick how much money they want to bet. Still, they have to be careful because the opponent becomes warier as the amount increases.
There’s a minimum betting amount, and players can be left with 0 livres if they fail multiple times in a row. But in this case, there’s dedicated parts of the map where players can go if they need to make money. If the suspicion meter reaches the top, our character will either be jailed or killed. Fortunately, except at the highest difficulty level, death isn’t permanent.
A lot of effort went into the game to make it as accurate as possible. All of the cheating techniques are based on real-life card tricks.
Apart from playing cards, our hero will also take part in sword battles which also launch minigames. There’s a pattern to remember and execute on time.
Visuals
Even though the graphics are very simple and not very detailed, the art is charming. It was achieved via monoprints, a technique that consists in creating individual painting stamp marks and then putting them on top of one another.
Audio
The music has been made with historical accuracy in mind. It is memorable and fits perfectly with the game’s theme and scenes. Some tunes are melancholic, and others are joyful based on what happens in the context of the story. The sound effects are really convincing, especially those created for the cards, which sound very authentic.
Overall
Card Shark is an excellent example of how independent games can offer players a unique gaming experience. Its story is rather lackluster, and the minimalistic art style might not appeal to everyone, but the smooth, interesting gameplay and the one-of-a-kind concept make it a game worth playing.
