Card-based narrative journey Foretales is out now on Switch and PC

0

Deal your own adventure with hereto unseen decksploration mechanics

Nantes, France, September 15th, 2022 – Behold! Just as the prophecy foretold, Alkemi and Dear Villagers’ innovative narrative-based card game Foretales has been summoned on the Nintendo Switch eShop and Steam! In Foretales, narration and experimentation blend with decksploration mechanics to create an all new kind of card game where what happens next is entirely up to you!

Our story begins long ago in the realm, where the avian thief Volepain and his friend were asked to steal a magical lyre. They outwitted the guards with an ace up their sleeve. And by “ace” I mean pocket sand. The point is it worked, and our heroes snagged the lyre undetected. Unfortunately, it was no sooner that they had gotten their hands on the lyre that Volepain began to have terrifying visions of the end of the world!

To combat this catastrophic prophecy, Volepain knew he had to assemble a team of companions. His potential allies included the tiger archer Léo, the gorilla Karst, the elephant Isabeau, and the parrot Pattenbois, among other eccentric allies. He knew each party member came with their own strengths and weaknesses that would have to be deployed strategically if they were to succeed in their quest.

Of course, Volepain and his friends need your helping hand to guide them on their journey. Choose whether to approach a scenario by using stealth, creating a ruse, making a trade, or engaging in good old-fashioned fisticuffs. If you play your cards right, Volepain and his ragtag squad could prevent a terrible fate!

Our boldest adventurers can sweeten the pot by tossing in some extra coin – approximately €23.99 / $23.99 / £18.78 – for the Deluxe Edition, containing Foretales’ original soundtrack and a digital art book.

“We’ve always been fans of both tabletop games and video games, so we wanted to bring the former to life using the technology of the latter,” said Alain Puget, founder of Alkemi. “Foretales uses gorgeous art, a stirring score by Beyond Good & Evil and Rayman Legends composer Christophe Héral, and narration by prolific character actor Travis Willingham, to create a wondrous storybook world that really pops off the page – or should I say screen? We’re very proud of how it’s all come together and are brimming with excitement to share it with you all today!”

Foretales has always stood out to us as a novel blend of genres that we think will appeal to fans of not just card games, but all kinds of open-ended adventures,” said Guillaume Jamet, Head of Publishing at Dear Villagers. “We haven’t seen anything quite like it, making Alkemi stand strong as a unique voice in gaming.”

EXPERIENCE THE PSYCHEDELIC SOUNDSCAPES OF THE CHANT

Unique Collaboration between Music and Gaming,The Renowned Composer Paul Ruskay brings The Game´s 70s Atmosphere to life-coming November 3rd

Sydney, Australia – September 15, 2022 – Watch an exclusive interview with Paul Ruskay, Audio Director and Mike Skupa, Creative Director of The Chant, – a single-player third person cosmic horror action adventure game due to ship on November, 3rd – that discloses the not-so-conventional creative process behind the music and sound design of the game.

Developed by Brass Token and published by Prime Matter, The Chant´s players will experience immersive audio in an atmosphere heavily influenced by the 1970s, including original experimental electronica composed and designed by the well-known artist.

Paul Ruskay has been a leading audio producer of music and sound design for the video game, film and advertising industries for the past 26 years.

Human beings respond to fear in a physical way, particularly when playing a cosmic horror action adventure game. What to expect sonically from The Chant is a mix between paying a homage to the classics but keeping things feeling fresh.

Unorthodox approach

The Chant is a colourful supernatural horror game that uses experimental soundscapes to amplify dread and tension in gameplay. Equally important is the soundtrack’s analogue feel, which allows players to travel to the natural environment where the game takes place – remote Glory Island on the edge of the Pacific Coast.

Knowing well how to invoke horror, Paul has been deeply influenced in this game by cult horror classic soundtracks from the 70s.

According to the Audio Director, it was easy to get excited about The Chant. “The references were very compelling to me, this was a fun project to explore creatively”. Ruskay goes on to say that Mike Skupa has been a great collaborator throughout the project, guiding the process towards the 70s and 80s classic horror movies, while also striving to achieve an original atmosphere that stands out from the rest.

Free jazz drum parts, sections where music is better left out altogether to ensure that players feel on the edge, and creature sounds, help to further enhance the immersive experience and boost the setting of the game to be even scarier.

The Chant is a cosmic horror action-adventure game developed by Brass Token and published by Prime Matter, launching on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC on November 3rd

0

Sydney, Australia – September 15, 2022 – Leading video game publisher and developer Bandai Namco Europe S.A.S. today announced SYNDUALITY, a new game that is part of a recently announced transmedia Sci-fi franchise developed by Game Studio. SYNDUALITY is a Sci-fi Shooter set in a dystopian futuristic world where humans and AI must co-exist and cooperate to survive. The gamewill be released on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

SYNDUALITY takes place in 2222, years after a mysterious poisonous rain called “The Tears of the New Moon” wipe out most of humanity and birthed deformed creatures that now hunt the population. Amidst the calamity, humans are forced to build an underground haven named Amasia, where they discover and begin to collaborate with forms of artificial intelligence called Magus.

SYNDUALITY is a project we can’t wait for players to put their hands on,” said Yosuke Futami, Producer at Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. “We have been working with famous designers such as Neco for character design and Ippei Gyoubu for mechanical design, as well as the team at Game Studio to develop a fun  shooter with strong core gameplay and a unique  focus on the relationship between AI and human, where the bond that develops between players and their Magus impacts game play and story.

In the game, players will step in the shoes of the Drifters, people who make a living collecting AO crystals, a rare resource available on Earth. In this quest they must face xenomorphic creatures known as Enders,  and they will be able to count on Magus, their AI partners, to guide them through their journey, help them in fights, and providing direction, hints, and warning. All the while, they will be developing and strengthening  the bond between player and AI. Gameplay and combat in SYNDUALITY centers around Cradle Coffins, armed vehicles in which the players will be roaming on the surface and can fully personalize, from appearance to weapon loadouts, to fit their own playstyle. SYNDUALITY will also have multiplayer, with other Drifters joining players to help them in their missions or turn against them, hindering their progress or fighting to loot their precious resources.
