0

The PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup for October is here, there’s superhuman clashes in the form of Injustice 2, big racing thrills with tiny cars in Hot Wheels Unleashedand the electrifying strategic combat of Superhot

PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Deluxe members can add these three titles to their game library from Tuesday, 4 October until Monday, 31 October. The PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe Game Catalogue lineup for October will be announced later this month.

Let’s take a closer look at the games…

Hot Wheels Unleashed | PS4, PS5

Collect, build and race in this fantastic arcade sim based on the Hot Wheels universe. Earn new vehicles then take them to the track to race side by side with friends in two-player split-screen, or face up to 12 opponents in online challenges. Create amazing layouts inside and outside the track editor. Players can add loops, special boosters, obstacles and special elements to make an incredible amusement park for their races, then share their creations online for other players to try.

Injustice 2 | PS4

The creators of Mortal Kombat return to the DC universe with the biggest superhuman roster. Select from twisted versions of iconic heroes and supervillains and bring epic-scale battles to awe-inspiring locations across the globe. Players can take on other players locally and online, or immerse themselves in the story-driven single player campaign as Batman struggles against Superman’s regime. Players will earn gear after every match to equip, customise and evolve their roster.

Superhot | PS4

Blurring the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem, Superhot is the FPS in which time moves only when players move. No generating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops/ It’s just players, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing the weapons of fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets. Superhot’s polished, minimalist visual language helps players concentrate on the most important – on the fluidity of gameplay and cinematic beauty of the fight.

Don’t forget PlayStation Plus members have until Monday, 3 October to add Need for Speed Heat, Granblue Fantasy: Versus and Toem to their game library. Also, check out the PlayStation Plus monthly-games inspired playlist on Spotify, which will be updated with new songs every month.

0

TOKYO – 28 Sept., 2022 – NeverAwake, the twin-stick shoot’em up set in the world of a young girl’s nightmares from developer Neotro Inc and publisher Phoenixx, performs a terrifying bullet ballet today on PC via Steam, with versions for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4|5 releasing Thursday, 19 Jan., 2023.

Guide Rem, a small girl trapped in an endless sleep, through visions from the darkest corners of her mind. Shimmy between projectile patterns fired by disturbing, hand-drawn representations of Rem’s fears, manifestations of vegetables, dogs, classmates, and more as grotesque creatures.

Overcome fear with ferocious firepower through more than 80 levels demanding fast-paced precision. Shoot back with combinations of twin-stick weaponry paired with accessories and upgrades bought with the souls of defeated enemies. Try to defeat foes on the first loop of each level, with each further loop posing further risk of failure. However, souls earned don’t disappear on death, giving Rem the chance to afford the weaponry she needs to break free.

However, Rem’s freedom won’t come easily, with more than a dozen bosses trying to keep her shackled in eternal slumber. Perform well and discover secrets leading to multiple endings, in this white-knuckle experience bestowed the Vermilion Gate Award (Grand Prize) at Japan’s most prestigious indie game event, BitSummit X-Roads.

Available on Steam alongside the game are the official NeverAwake “Nightmare World Art” digital artbook, and the soundtrack. Neotro enlisted YonYon, a Seoul-born, Tokyo-raised DJ, singer-songwriter, and producer to create the official theme “AWAKE”, streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.

“When I heard about this project, I wanted to make an emotional song for the ending theme,” said YonYon. “I tried to capture in the lyrics the main character Rem’s feelings as she overcomes her many traumas toward the end of the game, as well as her changing feelings toward her friends and family, and her realization of how important it was to spend time together and support each other.”

NeverAwake releases today on PC via Steam for $19.99 with a 15% launch discount, with support for English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language text. Also available today are the “Nightmare World Art” digital artbook for $7.99, and the NeverAwake soundtrack also for $7.99. Gear Up to Explore “The Depths of Tharis Island” in Season 2 of The Cycle: Frontier, Out Now

Explore the most challenging map yet in YAGER’s free-to-play extraction shooter and unearth a sprawling labyrinth of ancient power

BERLIN Sept. 28, 2022 The Cycle: Frontier’s second season, “The Depths of Tharis Island,” kicks off today on Steam and the Epic Games Store. After a wildly successful Season 1, Prospectors are invited back to Fortuna III to fight for rare materials, powerful weapons and the ultimate bragging rights on the hostile planet below. Learn more about what lies in the depths of Tharis island in this video from YAGER. Since every season ends with a progression wipe, this is the perfect opportunity for new or returning players to jump in and experience everything new in Season 2, including new campaign missions, gear perks, a new Fortuna Pass and, of course, Tharis Island, a mysterious locale that hosts a vast, unexplored, labyrinthian cave system.

Players can unlock Tharis Island, the first new map released for The Cycle: Frontier since its launch, by playing through the campaign. Tharis Island pits veteran Prospectors against hazards and missions like nothing they’ve seen before: among the abandoned ruins of the island slumbers unknown technology that can be used to enhance a Prospector’s gear in unique and powerful ways. Unlike the game’s previous maps, Tharis Island is more focused on interior spaces, drawing players into more dangerous encounters with challenges that players must figure out on their own.

Players will also gain access to an all-new Fortuna Pass featuring 100 levels of highly desirable rewards to unlock, including cosmetic items, Aurum, Salvage tokens and other goodies to help them survive and thrive on Tharis Island. The free track of the Fortuna Pass mostly offers gameplay rewards like weapons and gear, while the premium track includes new Prospector and weapon skins, emotes, weapon charms, XP boosters and enough Aurum to purchase next season’s Fortuna Pass if completed. Prospectors who opt to go the premium route will not have any gameplay advantages over those who do not, although they may look a little more awesome.

Season 2 also introduces a variety of general game, balance and anti-cheat improvements for The Cycle: Frontier. These quality-of-life upgrades will continue to roll out throughout the season and beyond. Check out what Season 2 has to offer by reading the patch notes here.

Join the members of the YAGER team as they celebrate the launch of Season 2 at 1:00 PM ET/ 10:00 AM PT on September 29 on their Twitch channel. Adam Cleaver, along with several other guests from the dev team, will discuss what’s new in Season 2, explore some of the mysteries on Tharis Island (including the new gear perk system) and give insights on the future of The Cycle: Frontier beyond Season 2.

Wild Hearts Revealed by EA and Omega Force

Perhaps one of the most unexpected combinations of developers and publishers has been announced today as EA and Koei Tecmo have revealed that they are working together to create a brand new game set in fantasy feudal Japan by the name of Wild Hearts. Wild Hearts is being developed by Omega Force and will be releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 17, 2023 for $69.99.

Wild Hearts takes place in Azuma, a fantasy landscape inspired by feudal Japan, that is now rampaged by the once peaceful Kemono, altering their environment at the cost of citizens’ lives. The Kemono range from plant-infused squirrels to the massive Kingtusk wild boar. After a dreadful fight with the winter wolf Deathstalker, players become bearers of a life-sustaining technology and are compelled to restore balance across the region. In the game players will be able to fight solo or team up with up to two friends in cross-play capable co-op.

A number of screenshots as well as the official reveal trailer for this fantasy hunting game can be found below.

Skull and Bones Delayed Once More to March 9, 2023

The oft delayed Skull and Bones previously had what appeared to be a solid release date of November 8th but that is no longer the case. Ubisoft has announced that they will be delaying Skull and Bones with Ubisoft Singapore aiming to provide “the best possible experience” and delay the game four months as a result. The company has now stated that Skull and Bones will now be releasing on March 9, 2023 where it will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and even the Stadia and Luna platforms.

While this news will be disheartening for those looking forward to this pirate game, there was at least a bit of good news. The company also stated that while this delay is happening they will be holding an open beta for Skull and Bones sometime in the “near future” so we can likely expect an announcement sometime soon.
