New Early Access content update introduces freeform 4X sandbox scenarios; adds new playable factions
Prague, Czech Republic – January 25, 2023 – Fulqrum Publishing and Kalla Gameworks today announce that Scattered Empires – the first major Content Update for story-driven, sci-fi grand strategy title The Pegasus Expedition is now available via Steam, GOG.com and Epic Games Store. The free update introduces Scenarios, which are a brand-new way for players to experience the game.
Scenarios offer a more freeform and traditional sandbox 4X gameplay experience, decoupled from the narrative-led structure of the game’s story campaign, with each new scenario serving up fresh objectives and settings.

In Scattered Empires, the first of four planned early access content updates, players will find their intrepid expedition at a randomised starting location somewhere within the Pegasus Galaxy, faced with the challenging objective of building six Arges Facilities in six different colonies – which are the highest tier of an inhabited world. All gameplay mechanics and features from the main campaign are featured in the scenario, allowing players to explore, colonise, research and wage war throughout the galaxy as they see fit.
Scenarios also introduce playable factions to the game, with Scattered Empires giving players the choice of four human fleets – The Zeus Link, 1st Expeditionary Fleet, The Daras Combine’s Al-Musta’mara and The Pegasus Republic. The challenging sci-fi third-person action adventure shooter combines the best elements of combat, a compelling and intricate storyline and exploration of a mysterious alien world.
The game puts players in the space-boots of Dr Kate Ward, an astronaut and scientist, sent to explore a colossal and enigmatic alien structure – The Metahedron – that appears in Earth’s orbit.
Things don’t go as planned and the Metahedron hauls Kate and her team across space onto a mysterious extrasolar planet where she wakes up alone on a strange and hostile world; determined to survive, she sets out to find your crew and unravel the mystery behind what’s happened.
Players need to examine their surroundings, scan and analyse alien fauna and flora of the dangerous extrasolar planet, then use the gained knowledge to create various elemental weapons, gadgets, and consumables.
They will also need to rely on offensive and tactical devices, use the environment to their advantage and exploit weaknesses of monstrous creatures to survive against the odds; all the while trying to unlock the mystery of an ancient alien civilisation and uncover the truth about what happened to Kate and her team.

SYDNEY (25th January, 2023) – Square Enix Ltd, has announced that the much-anticipated, debut title from studio Luminous Productions, Forspoken, is now available globally on the PlayStation®5 (PS5™) console and PC via STEAM®, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store. In this story-driven action-RPG, players will become extraordinary while utilising magic-enhanced parkour and wielding a vast array of powerful spells and abilities in order to save the lands of Athia.
Square Enix and Luminous Productions also released a free playable PC demo (via STEAM®, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store) today. In the PC demo, players will face-off with a variety of enemies and test their fighting abilities with an extensive arsenal of attack and support magic that will prepare them for the high-octane action they can expect to encounter in the full game.
Forspoken puts players in the shoes of Frey Holland, an ordinary young woman who has been mysteriously transported to Athia, a fantastical land that is devastated by an unknown force known as the Break. Having somehow survived this strange phenomenon and armed with a magical sentient bracelet called ‘Cuff’, Frey now offers Athia a last beacon of hope and must harness her newfound magical abilities to save Athia and find her way home.
In Forspoken, players can expect captivating performances from an all-star cast, including Ella Balinska (Run Sweetheart Run) as protagonist Frey Holland, Jonathan Cake (Star Wars: The Old Republic) as magical-sentient, Cuff and Pollyanna McIntosh (The Walking Dead series), Janina Gavankar (The Morning Show) and Claudia Black (Uncharted: The Lost Legacy) who take on the roles of the Tantas, evil maddened sorceresses that rule over Athia, as well as appearances from further supporting cast members, including Monica Barbaro (Top Gun Maverick) and Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman).
