Gameloft for brands Releases New Industry Whitepaper “THE MARKETING ROI IN GAMING – The Positive Impact of Gaming for Brands”

This study, conducted by Gameloft for brands, aims to offer brands a new KPI to help them assess their marketing ROI when running video game-based activations

PARIS, FRANCE – March 21, 2023 – Gameloft for brands, a leader in the creation of gamified experiences for brands, today announced the release of a new whitepaper entitled “THE MARKETING ROI IN GAMING – The Positive Impact of Gaming for Brands”. The report presented during this year’s IAB PlayFronts New York, provides a methodology and a brand-new KPI to measure the effectiveness of gaming and understand how to benchmark it against digital and traditional media.

Video games live by their own rules and are the only medium where the user actively participates in the creation of their experience, leading to strong engagement and attention. By generating positive emotions, gaming offers a unique “positive moment” for brands to engage their audience, significantly impacting positively brand attractiveness which, in turn, generates affinity and love. We call this “the brand likeability factor”.

Gameloft for brands used an approach inspired by the RCQ* (Reach, Cost, and Quality) methodology to define a brand-new KPI that takes into consideration the quality of the gaming moment.

Entitled the “Gameloft Quality Score”, it aims to measure the effectiveness of a given advertising campaign, by analyzing the synergy between the quality of  the context in which the campaign is delivered and the creative assets used to deliver it. This is done by leveraging the traditional measures of exposure and engagement that marketers are familiar with.

“It is essential to understand the relationship between the contextual environment of a campaign and the advertising effectiveness. Our expertise at Gameloft for brands gives us great visibility on how the game context influences the ways a player processes an advertising message delivered in a video game and how to more effectively measure its impact on brand affinity and return on investment”, says Alexandre Tan, Executive Vice-President of Advertising and Brand Partnerships at Gameloft. “Thanks to the Gameloft Quality Score, brands are now able to more accurately measure their Marketing ROI“ concludes Alexandre Tan.

Gameloft for brands’ white paper “The Marketing ROI in Gaming” is available here.

*The RCQ (“Reach, Cost, Quality”) methodology has been first documented by Dr. Thomas Bauer, Dr. Tjark Freundt and Ingeborg Molden Hegstad in Retail Marketing and Branding by Jesko Perrey and Dennis Spillecke (2013, John Wiley & Sons Publications)

STEAL A MARCH ON YOUR RIVALS AND REVISIT ERENOR FOR THIS YEAR’S FIRST ARCHEAGE CONTENT DROP

ArcheAge’s Spring Update features a host of improvements, revamped instances and all-new Twitch Drop events

Amsterdam, The Netherlands — March 23, 2023 | It is with great excitement that Kakao Games and XLGames announce ArcheAge’s first content update of 2023. The Spring Update will include a wealth of improvements and reworking of in-game features, engineered by the development team to continue enhancing player experience.

Among a flurry of changes in the update, two instances have been tweaked. The Fall of Hiram City will see Normal and Hard modes combined into one singular, condensed option, and is now accessible two times per week on Fridays and Sundays. With a shortened duration and no transition to nighttime, The Fall of Hiram City will now be easier to jump in. The Skyfin Nest Arena — which has previously only been available by chance — has now become its own instance. Rewards and rules will, however, remain the same.

A new tier has been introduced for Brilliant Erenor Accessories; you can now awaken a Mythic or higher grade Radiant Erenor Accessory into Brilliant, by using a Radiant or Blessed Erenor Awakening Scroll.

Alongside skill balancing, a number of improvements to Faction Activity Points will also be featured in the Spring Update. These include increases in the weight of influence for Siege content directly related to Faction activity, and Faction Activity Points for raids lasting longer than before. Points will no longer be visible. These alterations aim to reduce the possibility scores being influenced through deliberate player forfeiting.

The Exile System has also received some tweaks, such as enhancements to capacity to allow for more players to be exiled, with the goal of rectifying difficulties players have encountered when transferring factions. Moreover, Auctions now incorporate a bidding system so players can battle it out for bargains.

As an additional guild benefit, growth support items are now available via the Prestige Shop. Once an item is used, an “effect region” will manifest which guild members must be within in order to receive any buffs.

ArcheAge’s Spring Content Update offers plenty for those returning to Erenor, but as further incentive, an all-new Twitch Drop event goes live from today (until April 17). Players will have the opportunity to get their hands on desirable in-game items, ranging from Bound Labor Rechargers to Manastorm Crystals. The longer you stay tuned, the better the reward.

For more information on ArcheAge and the Spring Update, please visit the official site. You can also follow ArcheAge on Discord.

Rubber Ducks Commence Naval Conquest in World of Warships’ April Rubber Duck-date

Get ready to duck and cover as Trouble in the Hot Tub is coming to the game, alongside the addition of Pan-American cruisers to Early Access and a celebratory campaign to mark two years in the Epic Games Store in the Update 12.2

23rd March – World of Warships is bringing the bubbles in its latest update! In celebration of April Fools Day, Trouble in the Hot Tub returns to the game, accompanied by plenty of rubber ducks. Nine Pan American cruisers will also arrive in the harbours of Early Access, alongside a special campaign where players can earn up to $20 to celebrate two years of World of Warships in the Epic Games Store.

Hot Tub battles are all they’re quacked up to be

Trouble in the Hot Tub is here, and with them come six rubber ducks to choose from! This includes two cruisers, two destroyers and two battleships. But, these rubber ducks aren’t a run-of-the-mill bath-time buddy — they come armed with splashy mines that explode upon contact with enemy ships. To heat things up, each class has a different stylised weapon, from high explosive and armour-piercing droplets to fizzy torpedoes. At the helm of these ships are special duck Commanders, ready to take on an opposing fleet in a seven-to-seven Domination Mode format to win the Trouble in the Hot Tub title.

As part of the fun, World of Warships is also partnering with Placid Plastic Duck Simulator on a collaborative DLC bundle available on Steam from the 23rd of March to 14th of April.

Nine new Pan American Cruisers in Early Access

Spanning Tier II-X, nine Pan-American cruisers come to Early Access on the 31st of March, the first tech tree of this faction with AP shells that have improved ricochet angles, and combat instructions accessible from Tier VI upwards which will speed up the reload time of consumables. These consumables include the “Specialized Repair Team” starting at Tier VI and “Surveillance Radar” available from Tier VIII. Though this range of ships has weaker armour, they are equipped with good concealment for a stealthy distance attack and operate best in medium and long-distance combat ranges.

Almost all of these ships are available through random and consecutive packs, though Tier VIII cruiser Ignacio Allende waits at the end of the Enhanced Battle Pass. Both Ignacio Allende and Tier IX Santander also have their own permanent camouflages available, with Mayan Mystery and Muisca Gold respectively.

For all players on Steam, a free DLC featuring the Tier II premium cruiser Almirante Abreu is also up for grabs until the 13th of April.

An Epic anniversary on the high seas

World of Warships marks two years in the Epic Games Store! To celebrate the occasion, starting on the 23rd of March new Epic Games Store players can go on an unprecedented Achievement hunt to receive up to $20 in their PayPal accounts. Obtain three different achievements across the four-week event, which range anywhere from winning battles to capturing enemy bases to rack up the value. Other ways that Warships will be celebrating include some hefty discounts on DLC and a Starter Pack: Ishizuchi DLC giveaway, and a combat mission marathon with a special Epic camouflage, patch and background waiting at the end for all players on this platform.

This update also brings a number of bug fixes, upgrades and balance changes across the game.
