The System Shock remake combines the gameplay of the iconic original game with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface and all-new sounds and music. Never-before-seen enemies, quality-of-life gameplay tweaks, a revamped hacking system and visceral new combat options — featuring a brutal dismemberment system —also await players new and old.

A legion of hostile and mutated creatures — created and controlled by the delightfully villainous SHODAN herself — await players as they make their way through Citadel Station’s all-new areas, flexing their puzzle-solving skills and hacking prowess to reach new sectors of the station.

Players will also encounter traps, puzzles, and secrets in their pursuit of (hopefully) defeating SHODAN once and for all. A combination of stealth, cunning, and futuristic weaponry will be required to survive. When the System Shock remake arrives, players’ puzzle-solving and survival skills will be put to the test.

Nightdive Studios worked closely with many of the members of the original System Shock team, including the voice of SHODAN, Terri Brosius.

Console editions of System Shock will release on PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox One and Series S|X in due course; more details will be shared in the future.

Operation Dread Factor brings a Swedish Operator, a thorough map rework, and important gameplay updates.

Sydney, Australia — May 31, 2023 — Today, Ubisoft announced the launch of the second season of Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 8, Operation Dread Factor. This season introduces Fenrir, a new Swedish Operator, a complete rework of the Consulate map, and important gameplay updates including a new Aiming Lane to test destruction damage for the Shooting Range, a new permanent arcade playlist full of game modes, and more.

Operation Dread Factor calls Fenrir, a new tactical Defender, into action with his F-NATT Dread Mine gadget. This shadowy gadget releases a Fear Effect gas that temporarily limits a person’s field of view. As a result, strategic placement of the device will disrupt an attack, allow players to watch entry points, and cover their flank temporarily. Fenrir is a two speed, two health Operator, and his loadout features a MP7 or a SASG-12 as a primary weapon and a BAILIFF 410 as a secondary weapon.

The map rework for Consulate completely rebuilds the experience for players, transforming all floors and sites to make it more balanced, complex, and rewarding to play. The changes to Attacker spawns aim to reduce frustration and increase safety, so there are less vulnerable locations outdoors and Attackers can more easily make it from the spawn location to the building. The reworked Consulate map brings variety with each match, from a complete overhaul of the garage section up to the second floor, inspiring players to develop new tactics to master their approach.

New improvements to the Shooting Range make it the ultimate testing and training grounds for serious gamers with the introduction of a new Aiming Lane. The Aiming Lane allows you to master any weapon with customized training including several target types, movement speeds, distances, headshot-only mode and more. Also included in this update is a breakable wall, letting players test the destruction damage of different weapons. Year 8 Season 2 also brings a new permanent playlist letting players hop into Arcade modes for quick and unique matches whenever they prefer; returning game modes include Headshots Only, Snipers Only, and Golden Gun. The new playlist will also introduce a brand-new game mode called Free for All.

Balancing updates arriving this season include a new gadget, the Observation Blocker. This intel denial gadget projects a digital barrier blocking the line of sight of opponent drones and Observation Tools so they cannot spot Operators and devices on the other side. This barrier is only visible from a drone or an Observation Tool and will not be visible to Operators.

Also coming this season is the first part of balancing for Grim that aims to improve his loadout and his gadget, the Kawan Hive Launcher, letting his Hives release their swarm charge faster and increasing the chance of it catching a nearby Defender. The swarms are now bigger and stay for a longer duration, but they track a Defender for less time after they step out of the swarm.

Operation Dread Factor adds new controller layouts with alternate inputs for shooting, crouching, and leaning to make Siege a more comfortable gaming experience for controller players. Also coming this season is Free Camera in Match Replay, allowing players to use a free camera while watching their replays and letting them view recorded footage and create content from any angle. In addition, Squad members can now let the Squad leader know when they are ready to play, letting them skip the remaining timer and begin matchmaking.

Rainbow Six Siege is now available to play on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, the Xbox One family of consoles, Xbox Series X | S, Windows PC, including on Ubisoft+, Ubisoft’s subscription service, and Amazon Luna*.

Fan-Favorite Puzzle-RPG Series Pushes Genre Forward With Xbox and PlayStation Console Release

CALABASAS, Calif. – May 30, 2023 – Global video game publisher 505 Games announced today that Puzzle Quest 3 (PQ3), the most recent installment to the groundbreaking and highly successful puzzle-RPG franchise, is available today at 5pm PT/31 May at 1am BST and free-to-play on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, and PlayStation®4 gaming consoles.

“When Puzzle Quest 3 launched in March of 2022, we were excited for players to get their hands on a game nearly 10 years in the making,” said Steve Fawkner, CEO and Creative Lead at Infinity Plus Two. “Since then, we have taken player feedback, adding new modes, overhauling systems, and implementing key features to make a game that not only carries the legacy of the original Puzzle Quest but also evolves the franchise’s unique gameplay in different ways.”

To celebrate Puzzle Quest 3’s one year anniversary and the game’s launch on console, special rewards valued at over $100 will be available to players across all platforms for a limited time. This includes a 30-day VIP Pass with extra daily free VIP rewards, a free new set of skins for the original group of heroes, and access to the next Premium Quest Pass to earn extra rewards for completing ongoing quests.

In Puzzle Quest 3, players will embark on a heroic journey to discover the meaning behind the ancient Red Dragon’s dying words. Fans will also get a taste of the franchise’s new 3D game graphics as they become the ultimate hero with a familiar, yet updated puzzle board full of colorful gems and skulls, deep systems, recognizable characters, and an epic heroic storyline.

During the past year, the Puzzle Quest 3 team has introduced several new features and updates that will be part of the console launch including:

Gameplay Update: Action Points
Battles now include Action Points (AP) instead of the timer, allowing players to carefully plan out their best moves without the pressure of the timer. 

Larger Puzzle Board
The game has increased the size of the board by 1 column and 1 row, allowing for more potential matches and strategies.

Updated Tutorial Systems – including the Adventurer’s Guide
The tutorial functions have been improved to teach new players in the early stages of the game. The Adventurer’s Guide has also been introduced – in-game guides with pictures and descriptions of the various mechanics of the games that will continue to be expanded as new features come to the game.

Two New Heroes Classes
The Mercenary and The Warlock bring their unique take on puzzle combat, in addition to the original five hero classes.

New Game Modes: Adventure and Hunts
Adventure Mode: Allows heroes to journey through unique maps, each with branching paths, dialogue, rewards, and more. Every adventure is a dynamic experience with various difficulties. The map and play style hearkens back to the original Puzzle Quest.

Hunts Mode: Allows players to target specific chests and loot and provides an alternative game mode to level up secondary heroes.

Major Relic and Shards Rework (Economy Overhaul)
Reduces the number of different collectibles and simplifies the upgrade system of all gear, spells, and minions.

Updated Rewards for VIP and Passes
VIP system and Quest Pass (PQ3’s battle pass) now reflects higher direct player value with more opportunities to let players use their rewards how they want to, and reflects the reduced needs for keys that opened chests in the past.

Six Seasons of Content
Each season has introduced new weapons, new gear, new enemies, and new storylines that follow the adventuring party from the main storyline. All can be accessed via the Seasons Archive in the Battle menu.
