Mega-Roguelite Platformer 30XX Charges Up for 9 August Release Date

SEATTLE – 12 June 2023 – 30XX, the sequel to Batterystaple Games mega-roguelite platformer 20XX enjoyed by millions, blasts away enemies and pixels at megaspeed in the latest animated trailer from Half Giant (Cult of the Lamb, Rogue Legacy 2) to reveal a release date of Wednesday, 9 August 2023, for both PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.

Double jump into the future as robo-heroes Nina and Ace seek to uncover the fate of our fragile world after their thousand-year slumber following 20XX

Choose between a classic roguelite mode or the perma-death-free Mega Mode in either single-player or local/online co-op. Both experiences are equipped with ten randomly generated levels filled with nostalgic chiptunes, behemoth bosses, and thematic technological terrors. Customize 30XX’s difficulty for a tailored experience; tune down challenges with a robust Assist Mode or crank up custom Entropy Condition difficulty options to show off demonstrate mastery.

Upgrade Ace’s laser sword or Nina’s buster cannon with Techniques and Augments hidden throughout each stage or by saving up enough scrap from defeated foes to spend at shops. Close the distance between Ace and enemies with the Dolomite Link grapplewhip or channel his energy to transform his blade into the crushing Lara energy hammer. Smackdown robo-baddies using Nina’s Scatterblast for a widespread attack, or take out aerial enemies with the Vertibeam.

Stylishly sever opponents as Ace, who benefits from staying in the thick of battle and juggling multiple Techniques at once. Creatively combine Nina’s buster upgrades to unleash devastating hybrid attacks. Fuse special Boss Powers together to discover incredible new destructive potential, further empowering loadouts on the way to challenging 30XX’s fearsome Guardians and uncovering secrets.

Turn the platformer adrenaline dial up to eleven in Maker Mode, from the mind behind the Mega Man Maker fan project, and design hand-made section pieces or entire levels to share with the community. Create cleverly complex jumping puzzles, combine genres with an intricate Metroidvania stage full of ability gates, or assemble a ghastly gauntlet of automatons barring the exit. Engage with robust level discovery tools to easily find your favorite kinds of custom levels.

“The past two years of Early Access have flown by for the team, and we can’t wait to see the community’s reaction to the wild action and dark mystery of our full release,” said Batterystaple Games founder, Chris King. “We’re endlessly thankful to our Early Access community for helping us make 30XX into a game the team’s really proud of. When we enter v1.0 on PC and get to bring the action to Nintendo Switch this August, we look forward to watching our community dash towards all of 30XX’s Nier Automata-inspired hidden secret endings!”

Touching Platformer Everdeep Aurora Revealed at Wholesome Direct Showcase

Adorable feline adventure coming soon to Steam and Nintendo Switch

MADRID, SPAIN – 10 June 2023 – Everdeep Aurora, the lonely, desolate, yet hope-filled 2D adventure developed by Nautilus Games and published by Ysbryd Games, was revealed at today’s Wholesome Direct showcase, unveiling a nostalgic underground world. The Everdeep awaits on Windows PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2024.

As an apocalyptic meteor shower ravages the world, civilization has no choice but to continue underground, separating a little cat named Shell from her mother. Forge a new path into the Earth as Shell, drilling through procedurally-generated tile-based rocks and creating platforming opportunities on the kitty’s downward journey in hopes of reuniting with her family. Learn how life has fared under the surface by navigating temples, underground lakes, abandoned ruins, and suspicious science labs while befriending the eccentric subterrestrial denizens occupying them.

Encounter more than 20 charming underground denizens, forming bonds along the journey. The horned ram Remulus offers to upgrade Shell’s trusty drill, Aster cultivates botanical gifts in her hidden garden, and Ribbert leads the way to refuge. Hum to the tune of each character’s distinct musical theme while recovering collectibles, ores, and fulfilling side quests to foster their friendship. As Shell continues downward, the distant sounds of their secluded melodies may be the only motivation to keep her going…

With its nostalgia-inducing retro graphics and sound design, limited color palette, and square interface, Everdeep Aurora evokes a vintage aesthetic straight from beloved Nintendo Entertainment System pixel-painted titles. Nautilus Games goes a step beyond to accentuate the game’s artistry, including beautiful visual effects like color-grading transitions and whimsically-animated scenes.

Everdeep Aurora mixes elements from games and movies of our childhood while exploring issues of isolation and bearing the burdens of past decisions,” said Mikel Ojea, co-founder of Nautilus Games. “We were inspired by many classic titles with dark touches like Castlevania, Undertale, The Goonies, and Lost, and created an entirely non-violent game. There is no combat or any enemies to fight in Everdeep Aurora – instead, we focused on exploration, both of the physical Everdeep, and of the emotions we wanted to evoke from players, aiming for a memorable and stirring gameplay experience.”

Everdeep Aurora is coming to Windows PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2024. For more information about Everdeep Aurora, please visit the official website, join the community on Twitter and search #EverdeepAurora on social media.

UBISOFT UNVEILS NEW DETAILS ABOUT ITS UPCOMING ASSASSIN’S CREED RELEASES DURING UBISOFT FORWARD LIVE

New gameplay and deep dive into Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s story, announcement trailer and details about Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, and a new look at Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade

Sydney, Australia – June 13, 2023 – Today, during the Ubisoft Forward Live conference, Ubisoft revealed more about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed games: Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, and Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade. Each title enriches and expands the Assassin’s Creed brand to new territories, giving the opportunity for more players to delve into varied settings and immersive gameplay experiences.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

With development led* by Ubisoft Bordeaux, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an homage to the series, and a particularly special tribute to the first Assassin’s Creed. Inviting players in a magnificent ninth-century Baghdad at the peak of its Golden Age, Assassin’s Creed Mirage offers a condensed, narrative-driven action-adventure experience with a modern take on the parkour, stealth, and assassinations gameplay elements that have defined the franchise for over fifteen years.

Two new trailers were unveiled during the conference, delivering an immersive preview of the iconic Assassin’s Creed experience the game will offer to players. As they follow the story of Basim going from a street thief to a master assassin, they will fight against the Order of the Ancients and discover more about the nightmarish visions that haunt him. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will release on October 12, 2023 on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna, as well as on Windows PC through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store. Players can also subscribe to Ubisoft+ on Xbox and PC through Ubisoft Connect to access the game on launch day.

Starting from launch, players will be able to learn historical information and discover images from renowned museums and institutions’ collections thanks to the “History of Baghdad” feature.

Featuring 66 historical sites across the world of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, “History of Baghdad” will provide a research-based perspective over the setting and era of the game. All entries will be available in the game’s Codex.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR

Led by Ubisoft Red Storm** and set to release Holiday 2023, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is the first AAA VR title of the franchise, allowing players to embody legendary master assassins and physically perform their iconic actions throughout a full-fledged game. The game will be available on the Meta Quest Platform, which includes the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest Pro. Fan favourite characters will be playable in Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, including Ezio Auditore da Firenze in Renaissance Italy, Kassandra in Ancient Greece, and Connor in Colonial America, in an all-new story built from the ground up for VR.

Abstergo Industries has found a way to retrieve powerful lost artifacts that can profile anyone via their lifetime of memories, and then use those profiles to manipulate their beliefs. Players will work to sabotage Abstergo’s plan, discovering all new chapters of each Assassin’s story.

Players will be immersed into the world of Assassin’s Creed, using real-world motions to fight with their blade, throw their axe, and wield their bow in combat against a variety of enemies. They must move stealthily, hiding within the environment or blending in amongst civilians. Players will explore iconic historical cities including Venice, Athens and Colonial Boston, as each environment features 360-degree navigation, allowing them to climb and parkour freely as they meet civilians and historical figures, all of whom react to the player’s VR actions.

They will experience the rush of air assassinations and the thrilling leap of faith as they decide how to achieve their objectives. Years of development have led to Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR featuring a comprehensive suite of comfort features in order to accommodate players of all types with VR sensitivity. Players can add Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR to their Wishlist on the Meta Quest Store page.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade

Today, Ubisoft also revealed its partnership with Level Infinite, a gaming brand dedicated to delivering high-quality games to a global audience, that will publish Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade.

Players will get to access a huge open world set in third century BC ancient China, featuring iconic Assassin’s Creed’s gameplay elements: exploration, parkour, combat and assassination. For the first time in the franchise, players will be able to customize their character’s appearance and make it their own, before tackling the journey ahead, filled with ancient history and hidden dangers. During this pivotal era, the Qin Dynasty unified China and secured the trade route to the West. Players will have to take on desert raiders and work to dismantle conspiracies, taking on greater responsibilities and facing new challenges along the way, from the Great Wall to the imperial capital of Xianyang. To ensure the delivery of the most compelling experience, players feedback will be collected through various beta phases, with the first one starting later this summer.
