Two Beloved RPG Return with BATEN KAITOS I & II HD REMASTER, Featuring Enhanced Visual Fidelity and New Accessibility Features
Leading video game publisher and developer Bandai Namco Europe S.AS. today announced that BATEN KAITOS I & II HD REMASTER is available now on Nintendo Switch™. The collection will give players the opportunity to experience the emotional journeys of both BATEN KAITOS: ETERNAL WINGS AND THE LOST OCEAN and BATEN KAITOS ORIGINS, which were originally released for the Nintendo GameCube.
The BATEN KAITOS series features distinct card-based RPG play mechanics that allow for split-second decisions, edging participants closer to victory. In each title, players will take the role of a Guardian Spirit and guide the protagonist and companions through unique adventures in each game:
BATEN KAITOS: ETERNAL WINGS AND THE LOST OCEAN tells the story of Kalas who, while seeking revenge for the death of his brother and grandfather, meets Xelha as they both embark on a journey to defeat the Alfard Empire.
BATEN KAITOS ORIGINS takes place 20 years before the events of the first game. The story involves Sagi, a “spiriter” that has a connection with Guardian Spirits and who is part of the Dark Service, an elite unit of the Alfard Empire. Sagi sets on a journey to clear his name after being framed, and to unveil the empire’s secrets.

BATEN KAITOS I & II HD REMASTER enhances the gameplay of the original games with new features. The remaster includes an “Instant KO” setting that will let players defeat the enemy in one single attack, a major increase to game and battle speeds, and a “No Encounters” setting that will let players avoid battles, along with additional new settings that support game progression.
In addition to BATEN KAITOS I & II HD REMASTER release, players can now enjoy both game’s soundtracks on digital distribution services such as iTunes, Apple Music or Spotify or YouTube. Resident Evil 4 VR Coming to PlayStation®VR2 This Winter
London (September 14, 2023) Today, Capcom revealed Separate Ways, a new story DLC for Resident Evil™ 4 that is releasing on September 21, 2023. Separate Ways explores another side of the reawakened tale, following Ada Wong on a clandestine mission that reunites the agent with Leon S. Kennedy during his search for the president’s missing daughter. Alongside the release of Separate Ways, a free update for The Mercenaries will go live the same day, introducing Ada Wong and her notorious employer Albert Wesker as playable characters for the popular bonus mode.
The new trailer also debuted thrilling footage of Resident Evil 4 VR Mode. This immersive new way to experience the main campaign of Resident Evil 4 is coming to PlayStation®VR2 as free DLC this winter. In Separate Ways, Ada Wong travels to a lonely and rural part of Europe to infiltrate a village controlled by the religious group known as Los Iluminados. Under orders from Albert Wesker, Ada is assigned to obtain the cult’s darkest secret: a mysterious material known as “the Amber.” Her operation intertwines with Leon S. Kennedy’s search for the president’s missing daughter, providing an alternate perspective on the main story that uncovers events that unfold behind the scenes.
Alongside the highly acclaimed gunplay, combat, and knife mechanics of Resident Evil 4, Separate Ways introduces an additional feature to the experience that takes the fast-paced action to exciting new heights. For this exhilarating mission, Ada is armed with a Grappling Gun that can be used to swing across chasms, make rapid ascents, and plunge into the depths below. She can also wield the device in combat to take on enemies in close quarters and launch into melee takedowns from a distance.

In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, you will play as a Na’vi who was abducted as an infant by the RDA and trained in The Ambassador Program (TAP) to serve human interests on Pandora. When the RDA evacuated Pandora during the Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains (as seen in the first Avatar movie), you were put into emergency cryosleep. You wake up 15 years later, finally free from the RDA, but lost and unfamiliar with your home world.
You set out on a journey to discover the world that was kept from you, meeting other Na’vi clans and learning about Na’vi culture. You discover that you are a member of the respected Sarentu clan, believed to have disappeared years before. As you journey across the Western Frontier, you will meet the Aranahe, a clan of artisans known for their weaving skills; the Zeswa, a proud nomadic clan that lives in symbiosis with gigantic beasts called Zakru; and the Kame’tire, a reclusive, enigmatic clan skilled in healing and potion-making.
As a rite of passage, you will bond with your own banshee, or ikran (as the Na’vi say). Together, you will be able to explore Pandora from a new perspective: that of the skies. Once again, the RDA poses a threat to Pandora’s flourishing ecosystems. The new trailer showcases SaGa Emerald Beyond’s eclectic cast of heroes from vastly different worlds, with five distinct and dramatic stories to experience. Players will select any of the six protagonists to begin their story with, and guided by mysterious emerald waves, will explore 17 strikingly beautiful worlds where you can meet a diverse cast of races, including monsters, mechs, and vampires, forging their own story. SaGa Emerald Beyond expands on the free-form scenario system the SaGa franchise is renowned for, offering the player the greatest amount of freedom to shape their own story to date, with each tale branching outwards based on their choices and actions. The trailer also showcases the game’s strategic turn-based combat system in motion, offering the best iteration of the SaGa franchise’s combat.
Alongside the trailer, SQUARE ENIX also unveiled a debut key art featuring all six protagonists.
Players can choose to begin their story as one of the following protagonists. Each possesses the rare ability to see emerald waves that present choices of their destinies:
Tsunanori Mido – A man who can manipulate kugutsu, or animated puppets, which protect the barrier around his home, Miyako City. When the city is plagued by all kinds of supernatural phenomena, Tsunanori embarks on a journey to other worlds to find four elemental spirits in order to restore order to the spiritual realm.
Ameya – A witch-in-training who visits Miyako City and lives in secret as a schoolgirl as a part of her graduation exam. After Ameya is attacked by an unknown man, she loses practically all of her magical power and must find a way to regain what was lost and pass her final exam.
Siugnas – An immortal vampire who rules over Yomi, a world shrouded in darkness, as the Dismal King. However, after being betrayed and driven from his throne, Siugnas finds himself in Brighthome—the gathering place of dead warriors—and must set out on a journey to recover his powers alongside the other warriors in his squadron.
Diva No.5 – A songstress mech designed to sing and dance from the world of Avalon. After singing a forbidden song, however, Diva’s memory and singing functionality are sealed away, causing her to lose her livelihood and music itself. In her despair, Diva discards her “human” body and, going with the flow, accepts an invitation from a secret society, leaving Avalon behind.
Bonnie and Formina – Two new recruits and partners on the Capitol City police force who are investigating an assassination attempt on the President. With a key person of interest’s claim that the president is a traitor and a mysterious triangle piece as their only clues, they set off on a journey through other worlds to uncover the hidden truth behind the incident.

SYDNEY (Sept. 15, 2023) – Today, during the PlayStation’s State of Play broadcast, SQUARE ENIX® debuted a brand-new trailer for its upcoming action-RPG, FINAL FANTASY™ VII REBIRTH, and revealed thatthe highly anticipated new story in the critically acclaimed FINAL FANTASY VII remake project will debut on February 29th, 2024 for the PlayStation®5 (PS5™) console. The company also announced that the first entry in the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, has surpassed 7 million shipments and digital sales worldwide.
The action-packed trailer features iconic characters Cloud, Aerith, Barret and Tifa in a sci-fi and fantasy-inspired world teeming with danger at every turn. The unlikely heroes join forces with new playable companions, including Yuffie, a member of Wutai’s elite corps of ninja operatives, Red XIII, a beast with a flaming tail who offers words of wisdom to Cloud’s party from time to time, and Cait Sith, a wisecracking, feline-shaped robot often seen poised atop his big moogle pal, to hunt down Sephiroth, the one-winged angel bent on ruling the planet.

Alongside the release date, SQUARE ENIX unveiled the key art for the game. Created by Creative Director, Tetsuya Nomura, the new artwork represents the three worlds that form the axis of the story in FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH. Sephiroth is in the center, as he represents the instigator of the events of the past. Cloud and Zack are on the side as they represent their destinies being torn apart by Sephiroth. The image of blood, fire, and red that evokes Sephiroth, stains the sky and spreads over the world. The subtle red shade in the logo of this work is also inspired by the same imagery.

Players got the news that Helldivers 2 launches on PS5 and Steam on February 8, 2024, with a new trailer showcasing the new co-op action gameplay. It won’t be long before you and three recruits can team up for online cooperative multiplayer with large-scale destructive power through stratagems, explore unique planets and complete objectives together, and upgrade your equipment through the deep progression system of Helldivers 2. Today’s State of Play included a brand-new look at Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (FFVII). The trailer surely will delight both long-term FFVII fans as well as players eager to know what happens after the conclusion of Final Fantasy VII Remake, as Cloud and company embark on a journey that takes them to the world outside Midgar. In the trailer we caught glimpses of new party members, sprawling open areas to explore and the reimagining of some iconic moments from the original game – including the appearance of beloved gothic hero, Vincent Valentine.
