Major Update Brings Major Social and Civic Updates Along With Tragedy As First Generation of Seedlings Will Die of Old Age

Launching November 3, the 0.4 update brings new aspects of city life to Avesta, including player-hosted gatherings, expanded construction and customization options, shared electricity grids and new ways for Seedlings to grow and connect with their communities. SEED is available now in Early Access for €29.99/$29.99 through Klang’s PC launcher, with a Steam version planned for next year.
Watch the brand-new SEED Intro Trailer:
This massive update to SEED will add a series of new features to appeal to “caretaker” players, revolving around gatherings, building customization and service options like restaurants and bars. From raising a family to powering a neighborhood, Cultivators can look forward to:
Follow Seedlings Through Life’s Milestones
Seedlings’ lives become more visible and personal in the 0.4 update. Their appearances now change as they age from birth to death. Expecting Seedlings will develop baby bumps, with due dates displayed in the time widget. The Memoria app will preserve the stories, relationships and last thoughts of those who have passed away.
Shape Avesta’s Growing Cities
Players can develop specialized construction skills, adding outdoor balconies and customizing buildings at a lower cost, making it more affordable to build up to 8 floors high. Add a finishing creative touch from a choice of 18 color schemes. New buildings, from log cabins to brick to high-tech, have their own track to specialize in, so Seedlings can grow into skilled builders.
As your community grows, keep your town powered with generators, solar panels and shared electricity grids, while bringing neighborhoods to life with restaurants offering takeaway service at the counter or dine-in meals served by waiters.
Build a More Connected Community
Cultivators can now host gatherings, plan a hangout or a meal, set a time and place, invite other Seedling friends, and share it on Spark so anyone can join. Players will be able to send messages through the new SeedMail client, and access the in-game Spark social feed from your web browser to post, react and comment to the society of Avesta without having to launch the game.
Grow and Guide a Society
Refreshed Society goals guide communities by unlocking a new progression system along with room for more Seedlings. A new Achievements panel sets long-term goals for Cultivators, with rewards for you, your Society, or both.
A Change in Weather
Wind, rain, and a new cloud system bring a fresh atmosphere to Avesta.
The Great Founders Era Death Wave
Seedlings age naturally in the game, living an average of 120 years. Since one real-world hour equals one in-game day, players that started SEED in July 2026 will see their first gen Seedlings passing away. What will happen to SEED’s first societies? Businesses go to an heir automatically, properties can be passed on through a will and wallet contents can also be passed on via will. A Founder without a will takes their homes and savings with them, so if your Founders haven’t written one yet, now is the time. Klang is anticipating that this wave of deaths will reach the Global Market and have larger impacts on the game’s cultural and financial systems.

And More to Come In The Weeks Ahead
The launch of .4 on Nov 3 is just the beginning, with more features being rolled out in the weeks ahead, including romance and dating options, clinics and a nutrition system, new tools and equipment, bi-weekly cosmetics and clothing drops, changes to living standards, graffiti and much more. New language options are going to come into the game, allowing players to choose to play in French and Spanish as well as English.
