The game’s largest-ever update adds 20% more content with new enemies, mysteries, characters, events
WORLD OF HORROR, the unsettling cosmic horror retro RPG from developer panstasz and publisher Ysbryd Games, summons AS BELOW SO ABOVE, its largest content update ever, to PC via Steam, GOG, and itch.io today. Consoles will get disturbed by the free update in 2027.
AS BELOW SO ABOVE makes WORLD OF HORROR 20% bigger, adding new events, enemies, mysteries, characters, items, spells, curses, and injuries, along with a large batch of quality-of-life features and bug fixes.
Two never-before-seen manifestations of the Old Gods raise the stakes: IKT-YOSIS, THE FIRST NIGHTMARE, sleeps in a gargantuan chamber beneath the mountains. With each ritual performed to wake him, the world above slowly reshapes itself and brings strange weather with it. THE WAR FOR SHIOKAWA adds an extra level of terror, with four cults summoning their eldritch masters simultaneously to plunge the town into pure evil.
Three new playable characters join the fight, including KIRIKO, a mysterious tarotist whose cards decide SHIOKAWA’s fate, and SATOSHI, a young hiker who knows the mountains around the town like no other.
The new Scenario Mode adds self-contained stories set before the main game, expanding WORLD OF HORROR’s lore and tying different mysteries together. The FOREST OF FEAR / TAPES OF TRAGEDY scenario introduces MAKOTO, an overachiever member of the school AV club who decides to film a documentary about the forest’s oldest legend.
The new update also gives modders more to work with on Steam Workshop, where they can create enemies, events, and mysteries, with more ways to customize them.
WORLD OF HORROR is currently available on PC via Steam, GOG, and itch.io, as well as Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4|5 for $19.99. The game supports English, German, French, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Polish.
