ATARI NAMES CROSSY ROAD CREATOR MATT HALL EVP OF MOBILE

Hipster Whale co-founder to lead cross-platform expansion

New York (October 27, 2026) – Atari today announced that Matt Hall has been appointed EVP, Atari Mobile, a new position reporting to Wade Rosen, Atari Chairman and CEO. In this role, Hall will oversee Atari’s mobile gaming business and play a leading role in the execution of the company’s unified cross-platform strategy that encompasses PC, console, web, and mobile.

Hall, who co-founded the studio Hipster Whale and created the hit mobile franchise Crossy Road, combines a deep grasp of the mobile business with the technical and creative expertise required to understand what makes a great mobile game and how games should be optimized across platforms.

Atari’s acquisitions of Hipster Whale and Early Morning Studios, alongside its RollerCoaster Tycoon mobile titles, give the company a strong base from which to build. “Atari is a company eager to lean into mobile as a key part of its cross-platform strategy, and that’s very exciting to me,” said Matt Hall, “I’m looking forward to applying what we learned building Crossy Road across the whole portfolio, and to bringing Atari’s best PC and console games to a much larger audience.”

Hall will work across the company to make Atari’s titles portable across engines and platforms, strengthen relationships with third-party mobile platforms, and build the infrastructure needed for regular releases on mobile and web alongside PC and console.  He will also ensure that valuable mobile IP reaches web, PC and console, and that the company’s best-performing console and PC games reach mobile.

“As the mobile gaming business continues to mature, we believe that success requires a disciplined strategy, technological optimization, multi-platform design and strong, creative IP,” said Wade Rosen, Chairman and CEO of Atari. “Since joining Atari earlier this year, Matt has already established himself as a valued leader, and he is poised to play an important role in the long-term success of the company.”
