Explore a fallen world, scale gigantic Keepers, and choose between destruction and salvation in this atmospheric open-world action-adventure coming to Steam
Illinois, United States – October 16, 2026. The old world is dying. Its forgotten guardians are corrupted. And somewhere beneath the ruins, an ancient god is beginning to wake.
Solo indie developer Resting Relic has today revealed Nyra and the Garden of Moros, a moody open-world action-adventure coming to PC via Steam, with a brand-new gameplay trailer making its debut at The MIX Fall Showcase.
Nyra and the Garden of Moros is a moody open-world action-adventure in which Nyra’s search for a cure to a spreading curse leads her to the ruins of the Old Empire. There, she discovers the Prison of Moros, an ancient god of doom, has been opened, its key shattered. To restore the prison and contain Moros once more, Nyra must seek out and climb the gigantic Keepers who guard the twelve seals. But players must decide their fate: destroy the corrupted Keepers, or take the harder path and attempt to cleanse and save them. Alongside her loyal wolf companion Rama, Nyra must choose how far she is willing to go to stop Moros and save a dying world.
WATCH THE GAMEPLAY REVEAL
The new gameplay trailer, debuting at The MIX Fall Showcase, offers the first extended look at Nyra and the Garden of Moros, including Nyra’s journey through the forgotten world, her bond with Rama, and the enormous scale of the Keepers she must confront.
CLIMB THE GIANTS
Long ago, the god of doom known as Moros was imprisoned by the power of twelve magical seals. Each seal was entrusted to a gigantic Keeper, created to protect it for all time.
But the prison has been broken.
Now a dark corruption is spreading across the land, reaching the Keepers and turning them against Nyra. To stop Moros from returning, Nyra must cross the remains of a forgotten empire, discover the hidden domains of the Keepers and climb their enormous forms to recover the seals.
These are not simply enemies to be defeated. Each Keeper is part of the world and its forgotten history, and what happens to them is ultimately Nyra’s choice.
TWO PATHS. ONE WORLD.
There is an easier way to reclaim the seals. Destroy the corrupted Keepers, take what Nyra needs and continue the journey.
But there is another path.
The corruption can be cleansed, allowing Nyra to save the Keepers of the Seals instead of destroying them. It is the harder choice, requiring sacrifice and asking players to consider what they are willing to give up to save something else.
Whichever path Nyra chooses, the consequences will echo through the world.
A JOURNEY THROUGH AN OLD EMPIRE, LOST IN TIME
The land of Nyra and the Garden of Moros is a world shaped by the remains of the Old Empire. Forests, desolate plains, crumbling halls, and enormous remnants of a forgotten civilization create a landscape filled with secrets and lost power.
Nyra travels through this world alongside Rama, her loyal wolf companion, as she searches for a cure to the curse that has drawn her into the wider mystery of Moros.
Together they will seek out hidden paths, uncover the domains of the Keepers and discover the remnants of a world that has long since been forgotten.
At the heart of the journey are the Keepers themselves; gigantic creatures of myth, earth and ancient magic. Reaching them is only the beginning. Nyra must climb their vast forms, uncover the corruption within them and decide their fate.
A PERSONAL JOURNEY
For Resting Relic solo developer Joe Winter, the relationship between Nyra and Rama is rooted in something deeply personal.
Rama was inspired by his late husky, Strider, whose loss helped inspire the project, while Nyra was inspired by his wife and her strength and compassion.
What began as a way to honour them eventually grew into an ambitious game inspired by the sense of scale, companionship and adventure found in Joe’s favourite games, while creating a world where players can choose a different path through their encounters with its giants.
Nyra and the Garden of Moros is currently in development for PC, and fans can add the game to Steam Wishlists now.Â
