Knights Peak and Windup Games invite curious adventurers and fans to take a short trip into the magical world of Hela: of Mice & Magic with the newly released gameplay demo. In the demo, players can take their first steps in the world inspired by northern Sweden to solve puzzles, try out abilities and explore the world. A demo of Hela: of Mice & Magic is now available for a limited time on Windows-PC via Epic Games Store, the XBOX PC App and Steam, including full Steam Deck support.
This demo offers a tailored introduction to Hela: of Mice & Magic. Set across a bespoke map crafted exclusively for the Demo, it provides adventurers with an initial taste of the captivating atmosphere, puzzle mechanics, traversal, and charming interactions.
Venturing into a secluded area inspired by northern Sweden, players are tasked with rekindling the witch’s protective warding magic and collecting sufficient Glimmer to chart a course back to her home.
Throughout the journey, travelers can freely roam, interact with physics-based mechanics, unravel environmental puzzles using the magic-infused Froggy pack, uncover hidden secrets, and offer a supportive paw to creatures along the path.
This experience supports both single-player exploration and local split-screen cooperative play. Solo adventurers can utilize the innovative Shade System, summoning magical duplicates of their mouse to assist in overcoming obstacles and complex challenges.
Hela: of Mice & Magic puts players in the role of a small but agile mouse, helping a kind, wary witch care for the land she has protected for generations. Explore alone or together across various environments like forests, meadows, wetlands, and burrows. The witch provides the player with a backpack infused with magic, enabling them to explore further, reach higher, and interact with the world in new, and sometimes relaxing ways.

Hela: of Mice & Magic will be released on December 1st, 2026 digitally and as a limited ‘Harmony Edition’ in physical form for Nintendo Switch™ 2, Xbox Series X and PlayStation®5, as well as exclusively digitally for Xbox Series S and PC. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
