In Jace’s Echoverse, a new reality brings chaotic twists and shocking turns to your favourite characters and spells
September 25, 2026 — Wizards of the Coast today launched Prerelease events at WPN stores for Reality Fracture, the latest set for the popular trading card game, Magic: The Gathering (MTG). As Jace Beleren’s alternate reality, The Echoverse, invades the Multiverse, your favourite characters and spells won’t be quite as you remember when Reality Fracture lands on the tabletop from October 2.
Reality Isn’t Quite As It Seems
This is the end. Reality Fracture marks the conclusion of an epic three-year arc in the universe of Magic: The Gathering. Jace Beleren’s alternate reality is crashing into our Multiverse – it’s your choice to confront him in his twisted world, or join him as a student of Hexhaven.
Reality Fracture brings twisted versions of cards you’ve played with over 30 years of Magic, warped in Jace’s vision. You’ll also be presented with Echoed Pairs of characters you know and love, their alternate pathways brought to life in cards that mirror one another appearing in the same pack.
Multiversal Mechanics
Marking the end of the saga are new and returning mechanics designed to flip any game on its head. These mechanics include:
- Empower Jace – When triggered, cards with ‘Empower Jace’ either make a Jace Planeswalker Token or adds loyalty counters if you already have one in play.
- Prepared Creatures – A returning mechanic from Secrets of Strixhaven, creatures with a spell that you can cast so long as they’re prepared. Each preparation card has a two-part frame, with the left side housing the creature’s abilities, and the right side housing its spell.
Multiverse Reforged
Reimagine a new Multiverse with Jace at the helm and a deck full of alternate-reality versions of beloved Magic creatures. Reveal your master plan by replacing tokens with these new twisted creatures and bring order, just the way Jace envisioned it!
Collecting Reality Fracture
Reality Fracture introduces a raft of new cards for you to wrap your mind around, along with never-before-seen card treatments to stand out in your collection. The headliner of the set is Bloodline Recollector, a serialised card limited to just 500 across all realities. This double rainbow foil treatment can only be found in Collector Boosters.
Fans of Secrets of Strixhaven may find this card somewhat familiar. That’s right, both visually and mechanically, it’s a warped version of that set’s headliner card – Emeritus of Ideation.
Brand-new to Reality Fracture are Shattered Mirror cards. These new treatments showcase a card’s inspiration right alongside its Echoverse counterpart. One card representing multiple realities. There are just 13 Shattered Mirror cards in the set, with unique facet foil versions appearing in Collector Boosters, while non-foil versions appear in both Play Boosters and Collector Boosters.
Split across realities yet joined as one, Borderless Echoed Pairs depict a clash across realms between the different versions of notable characters from the story, like Chandra. Here, Chandra’s fire magic clashes against her chilly counterpart’s ice spells. There are 15 pairs total, each displaying stunning artwork across that extends across both cards. Borderless Echoed Pairs can be found in both Play Boosters and Collector Boosters.
Is your mind not boggled enough yet? Then the Braintwister Series Cards are here to finish the job. These 23 card variants can be found in both Play Boosters and Collector Boosters, tricking your senses with the most dizzying effects of the set.
Ten cards from the Reality Fracture set have been reimagined as Japan Showcase cards, with artwork inspired by Japanese hobby shops, complete with a special card frame. Traditional foil and fracture foil Japan Showcase cards appear only in Collector Boosters.
Get in on Secret Lair’s dazzling artwork with the Secret Lair Bundle Promo Cards. This mind-bending collection brings together everything you love about the set, infusing ten cards with wild Secret Lair visuals. The Bundle houses 2 Collector Boosters, 6 Play Boosters, a set of traditional foil basic lands, and 2 of 10 traditional foil Secret Lair Bundle promo cards.
Reality Fracture also includes rare Dual Lands, opening portals to familiar dimensions. Like Secrets of Strixhaven before it, these Portal Lands align with Hexhaven college colours. These can be found as non-foil and foil versions in both Play Boosters and Collector Boosters.
Lastly, basic lands also get their own unique treatment, depicting the impossibly tall Jace Tower. The structure is represented in the set through borderless art spanning 15 Land cards, three for each colour, in total. You might need a bigger table to show these off in your next game.
