Following eight weeks of patches, Soulbound redefines raiding in the latest update, allowing eight players to coordinate an assault against the first of the Anima.
London, UK, 17 September 2026 | Today, indie studio Spiderware opens the Spectra raid in Soulbound: Online. This update marks the first eight-player encounter in the pixel-art MMORPG. The raid arrives at the end of an eight-week run of updates following the game’s Early Access release on July 21st.
The First Of The Anima
The Anima are malevolent entities that rule over the digital world in Soulbound: Online. They are working their way out of the digital space to emerge on the other side of the screen, and Spectra the Necromancer is the first to be stopped. Her fight is built around mechanics no single player can manage alone. Eight players must work together to defeat two raid difficulties and unlock new gear, horizontal ability relics, and legendary drops.
Spectra’s raid pushes players into clear roles: A tank has to hold her, a healer to keep the raid standing, and a DPS has to land attacks. Players must use manual casting to time their abilities in this bullet heaven raid mode if they wish to overcome the complex mechanics.
Eight Players, No Solo Clear
Players spend raid keys to enter the challenge, obtained by completing earlier dungeons. These keys to open one of two doors that stand at the raid entrance: Normal and Hard mode. With fifteen minutes on the clock, throw as many attempts at defeating Spectra as your team can manage. Wipe and you go again, as long as the timer has something left. Get her into the last of her health as the clock dies and you are allowed to finish what you started.
Eight Weeks, Eight Patches
Spectra arrives following heavy technical work to the Early Access title. Thanks to a supportive Discord community, the team launched weekly patches to address the most common feedback issues. Development team Spiderware rebuilt sprite loading, added a persistent on-disk sprite cache, split large world updates into smaller packets and capped per-frame work to eliminate spikes in busy areas. Players and quest NPCs now appear within a second. Mount and camera movement are smoother with added V-Sync.
Spectra Update Features

- 13 Pieces, Five Variants Each – Roughly 65 pieces of Necromancer raid gear to chase.
- Legendary Hard Mode Cape – A legendary cape that drops exclusively in Hard mode.
- 16 Rebuilt Legendaries – Oathmourne, Ruinchain, Spectra’s Amulet, Ring of Death, Wraith Binding, Revenant Priest and Necrotic Warrior sets availalbe to claim with rewritten effects.
- Levels Of The Boss – Levels in increments of 20% (80%, 60%, 40% & 20%).
