London (September 9, 2026) During today’s Nintendo Showcase, Capcom revealed exciting updates across its lineup of upcoming titles. Monster Hunter Wilds™ is heading to Nintendo Switch™ 2 on Dec. 4, bringing all the action to hunters everywhere. Mega Man™: Dual Override welcomes Proto Man as a new character joining the iconic Blue Bomber. Finally, the Resident Evil™ series makes its major leap to the console, with the acclaimed remakes of Resident Evil™ 2, Resident Evil™ 3, and Resident Evil™ 4 joining the lineup.
Monster Hunter Wilds Journeys to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4!
Monster Hunter Wilds summons a new wave of hunters to the Forbidden Lands, when the acclaimed action RPG releases for Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026. Hunters on the Expedition Team journey to the Forbidden Lands in search of the mysterious “White Wraith,” wield 14 iconic weapon types against larger-than-life monsters, and gather resources to craft an expansive arsenal of more powerful gear during their search for answers. The Nintendo Switch 2 release includes all Title Update content including the Grand Hub, returning fan-favorite monsters including Lagiacrus, and the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online collaboration. Additionally, hunters can band together with other Nintendo Switch 2 players using local wireless connections, or online with full cross-play support.
The Standard Edition of Monster Hunter Wilds, and the Gold Edition which includes the base game and a wealth of cosmetic DLC will be available on the Nintendo eShop. When digital pre-orders for Monster Hunter Wilds begin on October 19, the Standard Edition will be available for an early adopter’s discount until the promotion ends on December 3, 2026. The physical Monster Hunter Wilds Deluxe Edition, including the base game and the Deluxe Pack cosmetics, will be available from retailers. A free Prologue Demo will also be coming before launch, so keep a look out!

Proto Man Powers Up in Mega Man: Dual Override, Launching Spring 2027!
During the Nintendo Direct, Capcom showcased the first gameplay footage of Proto Man, who will fight alongside the Blue Bomber as a second playable character in Mega Man: Dual Override. Whereas Mega Man relies on ranged firepower, Proto Man jumps into the fray with a close-quarters attacks, providing a new way to charge through stages and defeat Robot Masters. While he packs a powerful punch, players should keep an eye on Proto Man’s heat gauge to stay cool in battle when harnessing his formidable arsenal of abilities.
In this new installment of the beloved series, the two iconic heroes can channel the Override system, temporarily pushing their powers beyond their normal limits. Players can personalize Mega Man and Proto Man’s abilities with the all-new Custom Chip system, equipping a variety of upgrades to build playstyles that are uniquely their own.
Capcom also unveiled brand-new Mega Man and Proto Man amiibo™ for the first time, set to release alongside the highly anticipated action-platforming game. More information about the figures’ functionality and release timing will be shared at a later date.

Relive the Fear with Resident Evil™ Remakes on Nintendo Switch 2!
Just in time for spooky season, three masterful Resident Evil remakes – including Resident Evil™ 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil™ 3, and Resident Evil™ 4 Gold Edition – make their way to Nintendo Switch 2 starting on October 16th digitally, with pre-orders and an early adopter’s discount available now! These three remakes will also be available physically on January 29th, 2027.
With the introduction of these three remakes, all mainline Resident Evil titles, including the recently released Resident Evil™ Requiem and the upcoming Resident Evil™ Veronica, will be able to be experienced on Nintendo Switch 2!
While these three remakes faithfully preserve the essence of the original games, each title has been reimagined with fresh ideas and modernized gameplay via Capcom’s RE ENGINE. Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition also include a wealth of additional content from the original versions.
For the uninitiated, here’s a quick rundown of each remake:
- Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition: An unprecedented biological disaster that strikes Raccoon City drags rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, a college student who has come to town to visit her brother, into a tragedy unlike any they’ve ever faced.
- Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City lies in ruins following the aforementioned unprecedented biological disaster. Told from the perspective of Jill Valentine, a survivor of the special forces unit S.T.A.R.S., this is the story of the beginning and end of the Raccoon City Incident.
- Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition: Six years after the Raccoon City Incident, Leon S. Kennedy—now an agent—embarks on a harrowing mission to locate and rescue the president’s daughter. Can he survive the madness of the villagers, who have been transformed into monstrous cultists?
