Crossout begins a new season with naval firepower, air cushions and battles in the dark

The “New Horizon” update brings new weapons and vehicle parts, unusual PvP brawls, additional battle scenarios and a redesigned storage interface

Gaijin Entertainment announces the launch of “New Horizon,” a new season in the post-apocalyptic online action game Crossout. This time, the Engineers, Steppenwolfs and Scavengers are forced to join forces against the treacherous Aris and the Ravagers. Survivors can unlock a new collection of vehicle parts and weapons, experiment with new combat builds, take part in a series of unusual brawls and encounter additional scenarios in regular PvP battles.

One of the most unusual additions of the season is the “MVP Flagship” air cushion, a massive new car part capable of carrying armored cars across the battlefield at speeds of up to 70 km/h. Its perk increases cabin power when enemies are nearby, making it especially useful for aggressive builds that prefer to fight right in the middle of the action.

The new arsenal also includes the “Smasher” cannon, which fires enormous naval cannonballs. During the first 125 metres of flight, the projectile gradually gains damage and impulse, rewarding survivors who can line up powerful long-range shots. The “ATGM Cornet” launcher, meanwhile, fires manoeuvrable missiles guided by a laser designator. Pilots can also release the guidance early to split the projectile into four explosive fragments, giving the weapon an alternative way to attack targets over a small area. There is also the MPR-8 “Slice” radar capable of periodically detecting concealed and invisible opponents, and the heavy “Wildhog” cabin, whose bonuses change depending on whether nearby allies or enemies outnumber each other.

“New Horizon” also launches a succession of special PvP brawls. For example, in the new “No signal” mode, player names and minimap icons disappear, while friendly fire is enabled. The color of an armored car becomes the only reliable way to distinguish friend from foe, so identifying the target before pulling the trigger is just as important as good aim. The new “Blind fire” brawl takes visibility problems even further: every participant is invisible. Firing a weapon, activating a module, taking damage or colliding with something reveals the vehicle, while attentive players can still hunt invisible rivals by listening for sounds and watching for dust clouds. At certain moments, everyone is temporarily revealed, turning careful stalking into an instant firefight.

The “New Horizon” season and its Battle Pass will remain available through November 25. The Deluxe Battle Pass has also been expanded with instant access to recipes for upgraded seasonal parts, additional Bearings and other bonuses.
