WIZDOM ACADEMY LAUNCHES ON KICKSTARTER TO FUND ITS PATH TO V1.0

Self-published Franco-Swiss co-production asks its community to help fund the road to full release, with the first stretch goal already confirmed.

Le Bouveret, Switzerland / La RĂ©union, France, September 1, 2026.  Wizdom Academy, developed between the Indian Ocean and continental Europe by French studio Lake On Fire and Swiss studio Kipwak Studio, today launches a Kickstarter campaign to fund the work still ahead of its V1.0 release. Self-published and co-produced from the start, the campaign is live now with a funding goal of 10,000 CHF and runs for 30 days.

What is Wizdom Academy?

Wizdom Academy is a 3D builder management sim where you take on the role of Headmaster of your own wizarding school. Design every room, recruit students from across the world, send professors on expeditions, and keep your school running through mana droughts, staff drama and rival academies.

With over 100 unique student traits, more than 50 Destinies to unlock, and a comprehensive tech tree, every playthrough produces a different academy. Students return to study, grow with your decisions, and the best graduates stay on as teachers, shaping the next generation in your own image.

The game has been in Early Access on Steam since April 2025 and has shipped six major updates, with the most recent overhauling classrooms, student progression, staff dynamics and late game content. Full release, V1.0, is targeted for Q4 this year.

“We built Wizdom Academy without a publisher, without shortcuts and without waiting for anyone’s permission,” said Guillaume Mezino, CEO and founder of Kipwak Studio. “Nearly 70,000 people have already wishlisted this game, and our community has grown to close to 100,000 people who believe in what we are building. This campaign is not about starting from zero. It is about finishing what we started, and doing it right.”

Wizdom Academy was the first project to secure backing from Swiss institutions CCF and PRISM. It also secured support from the Réunion Region, home of Lake On Fire, and its Franco-Swiss co-production structure is one of the first of its kind. That institutional backing, combined with active Early Access revenue, underpins the campaign: funds raised will go toward new content and features, marketing and visibility, a planned console port, and final polish ahead of the full V1.0 release.

The team is also open about where the game stands today. Wizdom Academy currently holds a Mixed rating on Steam, a reflection of its early launch. Since then, the team says it has reworked core systems based on player feedback, and points to a free demo on Steam as an invitation for anyone, backers or press, to judge the current state of the game for themselves.

The campaign’s first stretch goal has already been confirmed: at 20,000 CHF, Wizdom Academy will receive full modding tools and Steam Workshop integration. Additional stretch goals will be revealed as the campaign progresses.
