August 31st, 2026 – Finland – We are excited to finally open up our first public playtest with a brand new scenario mode and many other never-seen-before updates. The playtest opens up on August 31st for Steam PvE Survival & Crafting Fest, and it comes out with a new trailer!
The scenario mode builds on the true and tested sandbox experience loved by tens of thousands of playtesters and many content creators like Biffmatic and Comodo Gaming.
The scenarios include a more guided way to the game to introduce you to the newest additions and existing mechanics. Build your car, scrap parts and find out what happened to Brian who went to get some more gas to survive.
The scenario can be played solo or in co-op with up to 4 players online. The playtest gives gamers 3 additional invites to send out to their friends, or they can join the open playtest via the Steam Page here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4009490/Arctic_Drive/
Key Features:
- Solo & 2–4 player online co-op: Coordinate roles, share supplies, revive teammates and keep your vehicle rolling through the snow.Â
- Immersive physics and vehicle simulation: Cars, trailers, and objects use physics-based interactions. If you can pick something up, you can pack it into the car. But remember, don’t haul too much weight, fuel is scarce out there.
- Procedurally generated arctic world: Drive through a randomized network of roads, point of interests and wilderness every run. Each journey offers new challenges in an open world survival sandbox.
- Vehicle customization, repair and car maintenance: Prepare for a long drive in the north. Explore to find parts, repair damage, and keep your survival rig tuned like a true automobile sim.
- Survival systems in the cold: Manage hunger, thirst and body temperature in a harsh winter climate. Your every decision affects how far your road trip can go.
Arctic Drive is a First-person survival road trip in a procedurally generated frozen wasteland. Drive and upgrade your car and camper, solo or with up to 3 friends, scavenge for fuel, food, and parts, and survive hunger, thirst, and sub-zero temperatures. Drive safe (you won’t)!
