Command the Allied Advance, Sudden Strike 5 – France: Road to Liberation Arrives Today

Lead the charge in six DLC missions inspired by Operation Dragoon with new vehicles, units and new Commander Jean de Lattre de Tassigny

Bracknell, UK – July 30, 2026. Publisher Kalypso Media and developer Kite Games today launch Sudden Strike 5 – France: Road to Liberation, taking players through a six-mission campaign as Allied forces fight to liberate Southern France and the German army attempts to maintain their grip on the territory.

The DLC is available now on PC, Xbox on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation®5, with a 10% launch discount on Steam and the Epic Games Store through August 6, 2026, with a special 20% discount on the Kalypso Store from July 30 until September 1 in celebration of Kalypso Media’s 20th anniversary.

Across six new historically inspired missions, Sudden Strike 5 – France: Road to Liberation revisits the events of Operation Dragoon in August 1944, placing generals on both sides of the battle. Take command of the liberation in three missions as Allied forces fight inland from Camel Beach toward the liberation of Toulon before seizing Hill 300 to sever Germany’s escape route. Flip the script in the next three missions to the other side of the front, Axis commanders must hold collapsing defensive lines long enough to cover a desperate withdrawal under mounting Allied pressure.

Experience the campaign that turned the tide across Southern France in the official launch trailer for Sudden Strike 5 – France: Road to Liberation

Every campaign is shaped by the commanders who lead it and in Sudden Strike 5 – France: Road to Liberation, the new French Commander Jean de Lattre de Tassigny offers a mobility-focused playstyle rewarding players who seize opportunities and maintain control of the engagement. Supporting this playstyle are the new Maquis Mobilization and Crew Vehicle Training doctrine cards, providing new strategic options for deploying forces, sustaining operations, and shifting tactics as the battlefield evolves.

Rounding out the DLC, more than six new units and unit types including the USS Edison, the remote demolition vehicle German SdKfz. 302 Goliath, and French infantry with additional new vehicles join the fight.

Sudden Strike 5 – France: Road to Liberation arrives as part of an ongoing post-launch commitment for Sudden Strike 5, following the rollout of the free Co-Op Mode and a recent quality-of-life update as Kite Games continues expanding the player experience through 2026.

Sudden Strike 5 – France: Road to Liberation is available now on PC, Xbox on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 for $14.99 / €14.99 / £12.99 with a 10% launch discount on Steam and the Epic Games Store through August 6, 2026, and a special 20% discount through the Kalypso Media Store.
