Strong Monkey Games will officially reveal DEAD SPIN on July 8, a horror roguelike deckbuilder that throws players into deadly slot-machine duels against lunatic gamblers. The game is coming to PC via Steam, with an open Steam Playtest.
DEAD SPIN blends slot-machine gameplay with deckbuilding strategy.
Players shape their deck with symbols, chips, and coins, then use consumable trinkets to stack effects, bend the odds, and build massive scores to stay ahead of their opponent before a bad spin turns into punishment.
Each run in DEAD SPIN is a deadly challenge against more than 8 unique opponents. Each opponent brings their own deck, skills, and strategy, forcing players to adapt their build around whatever random items they find. Lose, and the run starts over under new conditions. Win, and new items may be unlocked for future runs.
DEAD SPIN’s visual style draws from late ’90s and early ’00s horror aesthetics, blending a grimy VHS-inspired atmosphere with dark, grotesque humor.
