The launch of ‘The Blood Moon Rises’ Grandmaster Quest sees experienced players valiantly attempt to overcome the vampyric overlord of Vampyrium.
Tuesday, 30th June 2026, Cambridge, UK – Jagex: The RuneScape Company is bringing Old School RuneScape’s Myreque quest series, regularly voted one of the most popular quests by the community, to a dramatic conclusion today with the launch of The Blood Moon Rises.
A late-game Grandmaster Quest, the highest difficulty tier of quest in Old School RuneScape, The Blood Moon Rises sees players enter the dark, foreboding land of Vampyrium for the very first time to overthrow its vampyric ruler, Lord Lowerniel Draken…
First announced to the community at RuneFest 2025 and available to members, The Blood Moon Rises is one of the most challenging questing experiences launched in the game to date and comes six years after the release of the previous episode in the questline: Sins of the Father.
In addition to the new region of Vampyrium for players to explore, it also features a range of new deadly creatures to overcome, a new range of skilling activities and a new solo boss encounter with The Maggot King. Brand new weaponry will be available for those courageous enough to complete the quest, while those who also rout the King of the Ur-Maggots will receive the Crimson Kisten.
In addition to membership, players looking to complete the questline will need to have completed the Sins of the Father and A Night at the Theatre quests and have skill levels greater or equal to 78 Cooking, 74 Slayer, 72 Mining, 72 Smithing, 70 Fletching, 64 Crafting, and 57 Magic.
Old School RuneScape is available now on PC, Steam, iOS, and Android, complete with cross-platform progression and play on PC and mobile.
