Sydney, Australia – May 1st, 2026: For 25 years, Gothic has sent players into the Colony and for 25 years, its passionate community has kept the flame alive. In the new making-of video for Gothic 1 Remake, Alkimia Interactive puts the spotlight on the people who shaped Gothic far beyond the original game: fans, modders, musicians, artists, LARPers, creators, and everyone who helped turn Gothic into something much bigger than a game.
Gothic 1 Remake – Making of Special “Community”
From early forums such as World of Gothic to legendary fan projects, Gothic has never been just a game. It became a meeting place, a creative playground, and, for many fans, a second home.
The making-of video shows how closely Gothic’s history is tied to its community. Since the early 2000s, fans have exchanged feedback directly with developers, created their own content, and later helped keep parts of the series alive through community patches, tools, and mods.
This connection also plays a central role in Gothic 1 Remake. The team at Alkimia Interactive aims to preserve the spirit of the original while creating a modern version of the Colony, for long-time fans as well as players entering the world of Gothic for the very first time.
The new making-of is not only a behind-the-scenes look at the remake, but also a THANK YOU to everyone who has kept Gothic alive for two and a half decades.

The Kingdom of Myrtana has been invaded by a relentless horde of orcs.
