Independent video game studio WayForward, in conjunction with publisher Limited Run Games, is excited to announce that preorders for the physical version of Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution are now live at limitedrungames.com. Offered on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC in Standard, Classic, and Revolutionary Editions, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution will be available as an open preorder from August 8 through September 7, 2025. The missing chapter in the Shantae saga, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution was initially developed for Game Boy Advance and finally released for original hardware earlier in 2025 following a 20-year hiatus. As Shantae battles back against an earth-shattering scheme from her nemesis, the nefarious pirate Risky Boots, players will be treated to hair-whipping action, magical dance transformations, and exploration-packed multilayered levels — all of which can be experienced on consoles/PC with HD character portraits and illustrations, or with the original pixel art in Classic Mode. A thrilling local multiplayer Battle Mode — a first for the Shantae series — is included as well.
Additionally, the Limited Run Games physical version of Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution for consoles and PC will feature the digital Deluxe Edition extra content — the Relic Hunter, High Voltage, and Sizzle Armor costumes — directly on Game Card or disc.
The physical version of Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is available in three enchanting editions. In addition to the Standard Edition ($34.99), which includes the game and manual, the Classic Edition ($64.99) includes the game, manual, CD soundtrack, and SteelBook case in a deluxe holofoil box, while the Revolutionary Edition ($174.99) includes everything from the Classic Edition plus a Shantae pixel-art light, 50 Shantae trading cards, six art prints, a metal retro GBA cartridge keychain, a Squid Baron plush, and an individually numbered certificate of authenticity. A variety of Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution merchandise — including a Risky Boots plush, a t-shirt, card sleeves, a card binder, a Tinkerbat hat, and a double LP vinyl soundtrack — is also available from limitedrungames.com.
The latest of six games in the multi-million selling Shantae series, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution follows entries such as Shantae and the Seven Sirens, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, and Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, and will be available to download digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Steam on August 19.
