Keep the Party Going – and Guessing – in New Word-based Puzzle Game

LONDON: December 5, 2013:  Marvelous Games, a division of Japanese publisher MarvelousAQL, best known for the highly-acclaimed titles No More HeroesHarvest Moon, and RunBot, today announced the release of Wurdy, a highly entertaining new word-based party game on the App Store. Available now on iPhone®, iPad and iPod® touch devices,Wurdy is designed to bring the entire room together – at home, your favourite pub, a friend’s house –  for hilarious ‘shout-out-loud’ fun anywhere you go.

Developed by UK studio SockMonkey, players each have a sixty second round to cleverly and quickly describe a listed word or phrase to their audience using clues that will lead them to the answer. Once someone guesses correctly, players move onto the next word as the clock quickly races to zero. The player with the most points at the end of each round wins, but remember: no miming and no rhyming!

Premium categories will also be available as in-app purchases, keeping players on their toes and up-to-speed with an array of new topics ,including the latest pop culture news, sporting events and holidays. Each category contains more than 300 words, which will offer endless entertainment to players.

The fun doesn’t stop there, as Wurdy allows players to capture their unforgettable epic fails and verbal victories live on camera by utilising the EveryPlay feature. EveryPlay allows players to record video footage from the perspective of the quizzer, and easily share hilarious videos from their Wurdy funny moments via popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Wurdy is available now for £1.49 from the App Store on iPhone®, iPad and iPod® touch devices, with an Android launch coming soon.
