Heavy Gear is a mecha franchise from Dream Pod 9 and is about tournament fighting mechs doing battle for ultimate supremacy. This latest game comes from a company called Stomping Robot, who have obtained the license since Activision abandoned it.
At the moment there isn’t too much information on the title other than the crew behind the game are working in tandem with MekTek, who brought us the now working on Windows 7 MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries and contains members from a variety of studios including Crytek, known best for it’s work on Crysis.
The game so far looks and sounds pretty interesting from what I’ve read on the titles website. You should take a look at this link. The game is Heavy Gear Assault and at the moment there is no word on a release date.
