DirecTV partners with PlayStation 3 to provide Sunday NFL Ticket to subscribers

Currently, PlayStation 3 owners can watch a number of sports games on their console if they have the right services established. While fans of sports could watch either baseball or Hockey, they could not watch football on their entertainment console… until now that is. Earlier today the PlayStation Blog revealed that Sony had entered into a partnership with DirecTV to offer the satellite’s popular NFL Sunday Ticket service which will let viewers watch even un-aired football matches.

The service will cost current DirecTV subscribers an extra $50 to the original price of the Sunday Ticket and can use their PlayStation 3 as an extra receiver. On the other hand if you don’t use DirecTV, you will have to pay a whopping $339.95 to access the service. Those who do use the service will see up to 14 games a week in HD as well as DirecTV’s Red Zone service. Painful to the wallet, but who says that football fans can’t pony up some more cash to see more of what they love.
