New Xbox dashboard is good, get with the times, they are improving it every few months. Learn to adapt, if you can't buy yourself a Wii and sell your Xbox to Cypher.

It's not bad but its not great either. They should have made it a bit more customizable so you can put what you use more often nearer to the starting screen. Also I hate the way they break up your game library now.
Also bing search with Kinect voice is just a piece of junk. Never works for me.

I like some aspects of it better than the old dashboard. But I'm not in love with it as a whole. I don't hate it either. It's just taking some getting used to.
It seems to be better organized than it was before, so it's a bit easier to figure out where to go when you are looking for something specific.
The one thing I've noticed that I really don't like is the way netflix changed. That I don't care for at all. It takes to much time to load now, the layout just seems really cluttered. I've all but stopped using netflix at this point, there were other factors contributing to it, but the layout change didn't help at all. Oh well, it saves us some money if we cancel netflix anyway.

Could always use BlockBuster instead. Their store-exchange program is much better than netflix and you don't need to wait that extra time

Well we already cancelled the disc in the mail portion of Netflix, so we were just using it for the instant watch. But we hooked up a PC to the TV in the livingroom so I've just been watching things online. So it's just an extra 9 dollars a month that we can save by cancelling it all together.
Most places around here don't even have blockbuster stores any more. I guess we are lucky because we have just about the only one within at LEAST an hours drive left, and it's just 5 minutes down the road. We only use it to rent things occasionally, like movies or games we aren't sure we want to buy.
But if it's a new movie or game and we only want if for a night, then we just hit up the redbox. Since it's $1 a night for a DVD or $2 a night for a blu-ray or game.

Yeah new xbox dash SUCKS! I can see what they tried to do – you know make everything "easier" to navigate etc. But they FAILED HARD at it. It's now harder to find the games/movies/music you want because it's hidden behind heaps of menus and stuff. And not to mention wayyyy more ads on the home screen

Adds. Like WTF?! SO stupid.
But your right. It looks easier to navigate, but really its harder cause everything is hidden behind other stuff. The first time I wanted to play an XBLA game it took me about 200 years to find it.
Funny thing is, I still like it more than PS3's dashboard. Their dashboard looks boring and has WAY too many options.

im one of those girls that prefers the original x360s dashboard. It had the whole sweeping folder thing going on and it was really fun.

Part of what i like is how it's more organized how I would do it, but I'm one of those super organized people who put things in categories and subcategories.
Some of the places they put things I don't like, even thought I can see why they did it. Once again I use netflix as an example. I'd rather it be under the video section and not the "apps" section.
There are really about the same amount of ads, it's just you tend to see them more. I do like how you can avoid passing over the ones that are already playing because those use to startle me. You'd just be going through the dashboard looking in silence, and all of a sudden you hear a loud ad. I hate that. At least now I'm more aware of when it's going to happen and I can prevent the sound from playing by not passing over the ad.
I agree it's better than the PS3 menu. We had a PS3 for a total of 23 hours. We returned it because the menus were just to confusing and I just didn't want to bother learning it all at the time, not for how much it cost.
I still plan on getting a PS3 at some point, but I know the menu's are going to take a long time to figure out how to navigate.
I don't think any of the 3 consoles have a really simple menu to navigate. The Wii is the easiest with the most options to customize, but it's more complicated when it comes to attempting to play the few games with online features.
It's all give and take, and what you are willing to put up with to play games.

Well, the PS3 has Netflix under tv/video services if that helps you. I actually like PS3 menu for the most part, I do like more options, mainly in the Settings section so I can set everything I can up how I wish. Of course I am more of a PC gamer so I guess that might have something to do with how I like doing more than just playing games with it.

Its good with Kinect and its ok with controller. I hate the indie games were smashed to the back and some navigation issues are still present. But, overall, I don't notice it as an annoyance that much

I know whenever I get a PS3 I'll get used to the menus. I think it's just the fact that I'm more of a visual person, and the PS3 menu is just so many words and things (though they do have the icons beside it).
I'm not bashing the PS3, as I am an overall gamer and not a fangirl in anyway. Play what you want to play on as long as you have fun.
But I'm not going to continue to keep netflix so my major complaint with the new dashboard will pretty much be gone anyway. :)

I think most of it is, it's just a big "shock" to people who were used to the old dashboard. The same kind of things happens whenever something people are used to using gets a major overhaul. (Like facebook for example).
After a while people will get used to it and it won't be a big deal anymore.

Someone Clearly doesn't have a Kinect.
I turn on my Xbox, then say "Xbox Bing" + "Whatever the crap game I feel like playing"
Pulls up the game, and Im off playing a game.
I no longer have to wait for my Quickplay menu too load, and then cycle through my massive list of games.
Netflix works the best with this system. I turn on xbox, use bing to go to netflix, then tell netflix exactly what movie I want to see, and then Im happily enjoying a movie and if it is a show, I go between shows with my voice too. I only ever use my controller now when I actually start playing a game.
