Well it’s now official, if you have recently checked out the XBox360 Dashboard and you live in AU/NZ you will have seen the page added to Community and Spotlight.

Here it is, looks pretty sexy I reckon.

So you know what happened after this went up – we all started to get Friends Requests, messages, questions etc. about the night.  I was a bit freaked out there at the start, logging onto my XBox and seeing 23 messages.  I thought What The….!  I didn’t actually think that many people participated in the community nights, but again I have proved wrong.  This just goes to show how strong the Xbox360 Community is.

xI ROCK Ix started to giggle uncontrollably in the first lobby we played together and his tubing that match was disgusting!  KingRoc69 just took it in his stride and said he was all excited, he just hoped no one steals his care packages that night!  MasterAbbott decided to join us for 5 minutes and have some fun, though he didn’t go 0-11 he did pretty bad.  Me?  I just boosted!

So I have added everyone who sent a friends request and I hope to be able to play with all of you next Friday 12th March.  Our friends list may fill up over the next few days, try someone else if that happens to you.  Or just send a message saying the list was full but you still want to play on Friday!  Still don’t know what we are going to do in regards to game types, again any suggestions?  With the amount of people interested, it looks like we may have to setup 2 or 3 lobbies, but again, we will know closer to the date.

A couple of questions to answer that we get alot of.

Q:  How did you get on the Community Page.

A: We asked!  Seriously, you obviously have to have a community site and be willing to put the time into it all – then ask Microsoft and if you fulfill the requirements you can also get onto their Community page.

Q: What prizes are up for grabs on the night?

A: We have some XBLA games, 1500 MS Points, some PC Steam games and maybe some other random stuff – someone can even have my Final Fantasy XIII poster I picked up the other night!

Q: How do we win the prizes.

A: My first response to this is, don’t piss us off!  HAHAHAHA, really, just be yourselves – the prizes won’t just be going to the best players (if at all), they might go to someone who makes us laugh, someone who helps out on the night, someone who is being someone (err.. does that make sense?), someone who gets this wierdo kill.  Just play and have fun!!

Q: Who is the cutest of the Capsule Computers crew ?

A: Well MasterAbbott would say himself.. but I tend to disagree, it has to be KingRoc69!

Ok, lots of Call of Duty news now. All from the here.

Activision has announced that Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella are no longer with the studio. Activision Publishing chief technology officer Steve Pearce and head of production Steve Ackrich will head up the development house on “an interim basis.” Furthermore, Call of Duty-related business will now be overseen by Philip Earl (now ex-head of Activision’s Asia-Pacific region). There is no info as to why Jason West and Vince Zampella are no longer with the studio but I’m sure we will find out soon.

The Call of Duty franchise is trying to get to Asia! Any asians reading this? You might be getting the franchise over there soon.

Treyarch plans to release the next Call of Duty game this fall.

Infinity ward is developing the first 2 map packs for Modern Warfare 2 to be released in 2010.

Finally, Activision plans to expand the Call of Duty franchise to more genres and geographies

Hi everyone, your favourite conveyer of MW2 thoughts is back – and yes with more MW2 thoughts.  You might be thinking, doesn’t this guy have anything else to talk about except for MW2?  Well the answer to that is simple.  I don’t have much time to play games, I only get time at night after the kids are in bed and maybe a couple of hours on the weekend.  Life at the moment is full of kids things to do, swimming, soccer 5 times a week and of course work!

The patch for MW2 has been out for a week, for those of you who don’t know, it fixed a multitude of issues, Care package glitching (unlimited and superman running), fixed the 1887 reach when using Akimbo and FMJ, fixed the Prestige 10 lobbies and some other stuff.

Well I must say it’s quite nice to be able to play a match without having to worry about the sky having every single aircraft in it from unlimited care packages and some idiot thinking it’s funny to run around with the Care Package marker knifing everyone.  I think Infinity Ward are nearly there with the fixes, whether they choose or can fix the remaining bugs remain to be seen.  There are a few things I have noticed and I hope IW look at them in the near future.

** Matchmaking – don’t we all wish to be able to play with 4 green bars every single game against other 4 green barrers (is that even a word??)  COD5 WOW had the option for local search and it definitely made a difference.

** Getting mysteriously kicked out of lobbies – this is becoming more prevalent lately.  For eg. 5 of us in a lobby join a match. we sit their for ages, then it merges us with another lobby – but hey!  we lost someone!  Or we lose everyone and everyone is in this black hole where no one can hear anyone else and eventually we get kicked out back to the lobby.

The other is when joining a match directly from a lobby, it looks like say if there are 5 of us, only 4 get into a match, as their were only 4 slots to begin with! This can be such a pain if you have been waiting for so long.  The other night, we must have spent 2 hours doing this, and when we did get into a match with everyone, we were in a filthy laggy match and we couldn’t kill anyone anyway!

** Multiple Harriers at once.  I have noticed lately, that in games there are multiple harriers coming in at a time, not sure about this, kinda wierd, don’t think it’s a glitch and I haven’t seen anything on youtube or comments in the Xbox or IW forums about this.  I will keep checking this out and will report back on my findings – probably be another conveying of thoughts.

Things we have to look forward to in MW2.

** DLC – this looks like it is new maps.  I hope they redo Shipment!!  I also wouldn’t mind a barebones map where Killstreaks are not allowed.

** Me getting to Prestige 10! haha, soon my avid readers, soon.  I am up to Prestige 6, level 62 – around 43,000 kills, and 42,000 deaths.  yes my K/D ratio is now over 1!! I can’t believe it!

** The Capsule Computers Community night playing MW2. This looks like it is going to be the 19th March now, 8-11pm Australian Eastern Time (JUST NEED TO GET THIS CONFIRMED WITH XBOX FIRST).  I hope that alot of you turn up and play, not sure what we are going to do, but it looks like it might be a Groundwar game type so we can get alot of you in there at once.  Might do some crazy things, like Headquarters RUST with no Killstreaks!  Anyone else got any suggestions on what to do?  We will keep a list and change them often.

Lastly other stuff I have been doing on the Xbox lately.  I have managed to get into Forza3 again – trying to complete all the races.  I am only about 25% through them, and will probably take at least another 70-80 hours of game time.  New games for me lately, I got GH Van Halen, yes it was finally released in Australia and I had the money for it!  I can only play GH up to medium, as I am hopeless at moving my hand to get to the Orange. It a bit same old same old.. but it definitely is hard!  I have no idea how people can play this game on Expert, kudos to you all.  This one I saw on Youtube today, it’s crazy!

THE FINALLY DID IT !! THEY FINALLY DID IT !!

Today Robert Bowling from Infinity Ward… most of you know him as @Fourzerotwo announced over on the Infinity Ward Forum and also via twitter that the Care Package patch is finally out.  Players should be receiving this update as soon as they start up Modern Warfare 2.  It took them long enough to get it sorted but hey its here.  So that’s one less thing we need to worry about now.

Note to PS3 Player: The PS3 still needs to receive one additional fix, regarding the infinite care package exploit – not included in this patch – which will come in the near future.

Capsule Computers has sent through an application to host a Xbox Live Community event for Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2.  Hopefully if all goes well, Xbox give us the go ahead we can all get on and play Modern Warefare 2 from 8pm to 11pm AUS EST on Friday 19th March.  Now this date might change as it’s up to the Xbox team to approve the date.  But STAY TUNED !!  For now get on Xbox Live whack in Modern Warfare 2 and practice !! As your gonna need it !!  The Capsule Computers Team are ready to take you all down

Finally, MS has responded to the cheaters in MW2.  The Prestige boosters out there, watch out, you will get caught and you will be banned, then you can go cry to mummy.

Check out this article on the official Xbox forums – which has a link to the following:-

“People who have obtained prestige illegitimately, will be given suspensions.  People soliciting other people to gain prestige (whether for free, or for points) will be permanently suspended.”

To all those users who are attempting to play MW2 without cheating, please have faith.  Hang in there, because the cheaters are being caught and the game will be patched.

p.s., it doesn’t matter if you gained 10th prestige, 2nd, or 1st: illegitimate game play = suspension”

Now I hope they extend this to the Care Package cheaters, as Prestige rank does not affect gameplay.  I seriously don’t know why anyone would want to pay to get to 10th Prestige.  It’s only a title, and I actually think the symbol for 10th Prestige is a little dull.

Looking further on in the article “The Pro” actually bans someone who stupidly posted on the forums – http://forums.xbox.com/31084648/ShowPost.aspx – I laughed for a very long time over this one.

Well here we are, another day and oh look another MW2 glitch. Yes that’s right another one! I suppose this is what happens when you have over 8.5 million people playing this game.

I am not one for advocating glitches. I think they are cheating, despicable and ruin the fun for other people who want to play fair. But they are better out, the more people that know about them, the more people will use them and the quicker Infinity Ward will fix them.

This glitch is another unlimited Care Package glitch. Youtube video below.

As you can see, it can bring a real disadvantage to the opposing team.

Now this rant is directed at all your people who use glitches in MW2. This one, the Care Package marker run like your superman etc. You WILL get busted one day soon. You WILL use it one too many times and someone from the Xbox Live Enforcement team will see it and then ban you from Xbox Live. To you, cheating scum, I say good riddance. Sure it is fun to do, but seriously, do you think it makes you a better player? What is the real reason you are using the glitches in the game? Why can’t you just shoot, stab, throw grenades like everyone else?

There are NO excuses for using a glitch in a game – if I see you use it – I WILL file a complaint against you for Tampering/Cheating and if you have the guts to stay in the lobby after the game, I will ask you why you were doing it.

Games Com Colonge Germany 2009 was a very successful event.  As we are all aware it was previously hosted at Leipzig Germany by a different organization.  This year was the first outing for Games Com and I must say it was a great success.  Thousands of people passed through its doors and many happy gamers played and got to see what will be released in the comming months.

Yesterday I covered Capcom’s presence at Games Com today I will go through the remaining software developers and games that were at the festival.
