PopCap’s New Art Auction Pieces

PopCap’s Charity Art Auction has begun its second week, and as such, a new set of nine original art items are up on their eBay page now. If you’re as rabid a Plants vs. Zombies fan as I am, you’ll want to save up your sunshine for this week’s auction. Amongst the amazing PvZ items are a ceramics set featuring some key zombies and plants, a Peashooter costume, more concept s...

PopCap Auctions Art for Charity

As if making fantastic games wasn’t enough to cement a company’s reputation firmly in the green, PopCap are currently auctioning off original art works from their popular franchises on eBay, with all proceeds going to charity. From this week until July 12th, there will be up to nine items on auction, rotating each week. They will include original concept sketches from Plants vs. Zombie...

South Park Not Ending

Crisis averted, people! The internet (including our site) has been abuzz with panic about the cryptic double meaning in the South Park mid-season finale. Amongst all the hearsay and rumours, I couldn’t find anything official about whether or not creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker had signed a new deal with Comedy Central to extend the show past 2011, and so I contacted Comedy Central PR to ...

Reactions to Duke Nukem Forever

I wasn’t fast enough to claim the review for Duke Nukem Forever for our site, but on playing it, I realised I still had a few things I wanted to say about it. So I figured I’d jot out a few thoughts that crossed my mind as I kicked some alien ass. Check out our full review here. The game has a pretty lengthy legacy behind it, and with such a long development time people have built up a...

Live Playable Angry Birds Display

Yeah, we posted a video of this same event a while ago, but it was a fuzzy mobile-phone recording. Apparently that was an amateur recording of the filming of an ad for T-Mobile. Now it’s been professionally recorded and edited, and it looks much better. I really wish I had’ve been there, it looks pretty awesome. I wanna kidnap one of those pigs and take it home. Have a look.

The End of South Park?

I know, I know, we’re primarily a video games site. But we do review movies and TV series, and this bit of TV news personally hit me hard. The residents of South Park have managed to defend their town from every kind of threat – aliens, cults, zombies, killer turkeys, Wal-Mart, immigrants from the future, Cthulhu, people from Jersey, and 200 pissed-off celebrities – but the latest episode po...

The Incredible Machine on iPad

One of my earliest favourite games has been given an iPad release.  The Incredible Machine was released for PC in 1993, and has been spruced up with a new visual style. Disney gave details at E3, and the app, developed by the designer of the original game, is due for release this month. If you don’t remember the original, players were tasked with constructing a Rube Goldberg machine, wherein...

Kirby Mass Attack Details and Screenshots

With last year’s fantastic Kirby’s Epic Yarn and the upcoming return-to-roots Kirby Wii, the little pink marshmallow thing is getting a lot of work lately. Last month we showed off the Japanese cover art and the few details we had on Kirby’s upcoming DS adventure, and as expected, Nintendo revealed much more at E3. The game’s title has been confirmed as Kirby Mass Attack, a...

Aliens: Colonial Marines Screenshots and Details

Aliens are the perfect video game enemy: numerous, terrifying, dangerous and satisfying to kill. After releasing a teaser trailer last week, Sega have finally revealed a few more details and some screenshots of the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines. I remember hearing about the game a few years ago, and was disappointed to learn later that had been cancelled. Now thankfully it’s back on trac...

RUMOUR: Pikmin on Wii U?

I waited eagerly during Nintendo’s press conference for any news about a new Pikmin title, which has been hinted at and rumoured for years. No news on that front came during the public event, and although I was slightly disappointed, there was more than enough exciting news to make up for it. But during the developer roundtable event afterwards, Shigeru Miyamoto showed that there was still l...

Luigi’s Mansion 2 Announced for 3DS!

A lot of what Nintendo had to show this year was stuff we had heard vague rumours of already, and they simply gave us some details. But of course, E3 is no fun without a few out-of-the-blue surprises, and one announcement in particular made me happily squeal like an injured rodent – a new Luigi’s Mansion title will hit the 3DS early next year. I loved the original Luigi’s Mansion, and ...

Kinect Fun Labs Details

There’s no doubt Kinect is capable of some very exciting things. And although they may be very interesting in themselves, some of its capabilities may not lend themselves to a full retail game. At least, not yet. Kudo Tsunoda, the Kinect Creative Director, today announced Kinect Fun Labs, a playground for new ideas using the Kinect hardware. These small “games” or programs basically act as prototy...
