25 YEARS. A MILESTONE IN VIDEO GAMES HISTORY.

Sydney, Australia, November 4, 2021. Milestone, one of the leading racing games developers in the world, celebrates its 25th anniversary today. The story began in Milan, when a small group of true video games enthusiasts started Graffiti, later renamed Milestone in 1996. To them we owe a game still considered a masterpiece in the world of racing video games: Screamer. Its global success established the company as a leading brand in the field of driving games on PC.

In the following years, know-how, passion and meticulous attention to detail, allowed Milestone to get noticed by some of the biggest AAA publishers worldwide to craft its first officially licensed titles: SBK and the MotoGP series, a long-lasting partnership that has entertained more than 5 million players since its debut.

In 2012, a major breakthrough: Milestone started to self-publishing its own games, expanding its licenses’ portfolio with two new dirt bike racing games: the MXGP video game series – with its 50 million in revenues worldwide over the years – and more recently the Monster Energy Supercross official video games, an extremely successful franchise that has been played by more than 4 million players in the last few years.

In the same year, another big step for Milestone with its first proprietary franchise, RIDE. Over the years, RIDE delighted the two-wheels lovers with its huge bike collection, which earned the Guinness World Record in 2016 for the biggest licensed bike roster in a video game.

2019 marked a major breakthrough that paved the way to a great future: the leading producer and distributor of digital entertainment products, Koch Media GmbH (a subsidiary of the Embracer Group) decided to bet on Milestone, that officially became part of the group.

This year marks the celebration of its 25th anniversary and one of the biggest launches in the company’s long history: Hot Wheels Unleashed. Released at the end of September, the game has already proved to be one of the greatest successes in Milestone’s history.

“25 years are an important anniversary. It’s amazing how much intelligence, passion and commitment shaped Milestone in these 25 years. How many challenges, achievements and satisfactions we have experienced! And even after so many years, we’re still having a lot of fun, because we love what we do, and we are ready for the next 25 years” commented Luisa Bixio, CEO of Milestone.

Klemens Kundratitz, Managing Director of Koch Media Group commented “we are very proud to have Milestone within our group, their dedication to producing top quality, immersive racing games has stood the test of time, who knows what the next 25 years will bring!”

Today, the Milestone team counts more than 260 talents and keeps growing, continuing to establish itself as a true benchmark in the world of racing video games.
