LG ELECTRONICS AUSTRALIA EXPANDS CONTENT ON SMART TVS

LG OLED, NanoCell and 4K/UHD Smart TVs offer more of the content Australians love

SYDNEY, 13 OCTOBER 2020 – LG Electronics Australia, industry leaders in OLED TV technology, have expanded the list of streaming applications on a selection of the company’s OLED, NanoCell and 4K/UHD TVs.1

Apple TV, ABC iView, Optus Sport and Amazon Music have recently joined Disney+,2 Netflix, Stan, YouTube and Amazon Prime Video on the LG Home Launcher on webOS. This is part of the company’s commitment to providing more entertainment streaming options to over 1.5 million existing LG Smart TV models in Australia.

According to recent data from Roy Morgan, almost 16 million Australians have access to at least one content streaming service. Leading platforms include Netflix (13.28 million viewers), Foxtel (5.5 million), Stan (4.43 million), Disney+ (2.49 million), and Amazon Prime Video (2.16 million).3

“At LG Electronics Australia, we are passionate about providing Australians with content viewing options that enrich the home entertainment experience. At a time where Australians are staying home and watching more movies and TV shows, we have made it easy for consumers to catch up and stream their favourite shows whenever they please and in the comfort of their lounge room,” said Tony Brown, Marketing Manager for Home Entertainment at LG Electronics Australia.

“We look forward to continuing to add more high-quality entertainment services in the future for new and existing customers.”

The LG webOS platform features content streaming applications, offering users the ability to subscribe to and view a wide range of content. Utilising the LG Magic Remote, users can control the webOS Smart TV platform to easily access these apps.

With the availability of Dolby Vision™ and Dolby Atmos™ titles across Apple TV, Disney+ and Netflix, users can experience this content on compatible LG TVs that come enhanced with these two technologies.4

LG webOS is available across selected 2020 8K and 4K LG OLED, NanoCell and 4K UHD models. The company’s premium OLED TV range (88/77ZX, 77/65/55GX, 77/65/55CX, 65/55BX) and its premium LED/LCD NanoCell TV range (75/65 NANO99, 75/65 NANO95, 86/75/65 NANO91, 65/55 NANO86, 65/55 NANO80) are also available in variety of form factors to suit any home entertainment space.

Since 2013, LG has been the global leader of the OLED TV category offering a variety of large screen models. OLED technology is unique thanks to its self-lighting pixel technology that delivers deep blacks, rich colours, and realistic picture quality.

LG NanoCell TVs also delivers incredible picture quality with enhanced colour purity. Made possible through NanoCell technology with IPS, nano meter-sized particles absorb unwanted light wavelengths to enhance the purity of the red and green colours displayed on the screen to create purer and cleaner colours.
