LG Australia offering consumers opportunity to pre-register interest for  48” LG OLED TV

SYDNEY, 5 August 2020 — LG Electronics (LG), industry leaders in OLED TV technology, announced the much-anticipated LG 48-inch CX OLED 4K TV (48” CX), packed with sophisticated gaming capabilities, will be available to Australian consumers in September. Australians can pre-register their interest in purchasing one of the units by visiting: https://www.lg.com/au/lg-48-inch-oled-tv.

First previewed at CES 2020, LG brings the stunning picture quality and Perfect Black of the company’s OLED TV panel technology to an all-new screen size. The 48” CX complements the company’s comprehensive lineup of 55-, 65-, 77- and 88-inch OLED models. Additionally, the TV supports consumer desires for a mid-size second Smart TV without compromising picture quality for gaming.

“We continue to push boundaries with our home entertainment offering at LG whilst meeting the needs of a wide range of Australian consumers. We first showcased the 48-inch OLED TV at CES and are excited to finally bring our premium OLED display technology to the mid-size TV market,’ said Tony Brown, Marketing Manager for Home Entertainment, LG Electronics Australia. “Gamers will especially gravitate towards this model as it meets the needs of both PC and console gamers.”

When it comes to picture quality, the 48” CX boasts Perfect Blacks and infinite contrast thanks to self-illuminating pixels. With high pixel density of eight-million pixels on a compact screen, the 48” CX reproduces vivid and sharp 4K picture quality. What’s more, 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution on a 48-inch OLED screen offers a next-level viewing experience to the smaller TV category for the first time.

Supporting the desires of both PC and console gamers, the 48” CX pairs exceptional picture quality with premium gaming features. LG OLED TVs are the first in the industry to be NVIDIA G-SYNC® compatible, meaning graphics are rendered in sync with the gaming console. The technology adapts the TVs refresh rate to the frame rate of the connected hardware in order to increase player immersion. LG self-emissive OLED technology employs the precision of individual pixel control to produce exceptional picture quality, low input lag and 1ms pixel response time, for an immersive gaming experience without flicker or stuttering.

In addition, the 48” CX TV delivers content the way creators intended it appear through HDR formats such as dynamic HDR10 and Dolby Vision at up to 120 frames per second for 4K HDR content. There are four ports with HDMI 2.1 features, the 48” CX also offers users the benefits of advanced HDMI specifications such as Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) (as specified in HDMI 2.1) to automatically enable Game Mode and eliminate unnecessary processing when the console is detected. Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) (as specified in HDMI 2.1) enables uncompressed Dolby Atmos content to pass-through the TV to an external audio device.

In order to deliver a seamless gaming experience, the 48” CX also supports AMD FreeSync Premium and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) (as specified in HDMI 2.1) for less stutter and frame tearing. These features are compatible with a wide variety of gaming devices such as graphics cards and consoles. Plus, HDR Gaming Interest Group (HGiG) HDR gaming profile, which allows gamers to enjoy high quality HDR graphics when playing HGIG enabled games via consoles.

Heightening gamers’ sense of immersion even further, the 48” CX incorporates support for Dolby Atmos and LG deep learning-based AI Sound Acoustic Tuning, which understands the acoustic room environment and adjusts the sound for greater accuracy. The TV is Bluetooth Surround Compatible, enabling two PL7 or PL5 LG Bluetooth speakers* to be connected simultaneously, up-mixing stereo sound to virtual 4.0 surround sound for more immersion.

Australians will have the opportunity to experience all the benefits of next generation gaming this Christmas with LG OLED TV and leading retail partners.
