The wait for the next Earth Defense Force game won’t be a long one as D3 Publisher and Sandlot have announced that Earth Defense Force 6 is currently in development and the team is planning on releasing the game sometime in 2021 in Japan. No consoles were revealed at the time of the announcement but a few small details were revealed alongside a number of screenshots showing off the giant insects and creatures that players will face off against.
Earth Defense Force 6 will be set a few years after humanity barely managed to repel the previous invasion, leaving society and most of civilization a complete disaster. Already struggling to survive and rebuild, only the EDF can help humanity once again try to survive as not every invader left last time, leaving a lingering threat that has only grown more significant with time.
