Idea Factory International has announced that they are planning on releasing Death end re;Quest 2 in North America and Europe sometime this summer in the West for the PlayStation 4 and PC and have also detailed how gameplay in the game will be once again split between day and night systems. As described by the publisher, during midday players can visit the dormitory and explore Le Choara to search for clues but when evening sets in, the town transforms into a twisted and haunted shell of itself where carnivorous creatures sneak through the shadows and it is up to the player to venture out to find what horrible secrets are buried in the town.
In Death end re;Quest 2 plays take on the role of Mai Toyama who seeks to escape from her traumatic past. She becomes enrolled at Wordsworth, an all-girl’s dormitory situated in the small, mountainous town known as Le Choara where it was rumored that her sister, Sanae, was last seen. Hopeful, Mai seeks to find her kin, but she soon finds terrifying inhabitants which lurk throughout the town after dark.
