Nintendo Switch DLC Accompanies Battalion, 30% Base Game Discount

TOKYO, JAPAN – 25 April 2019 – Gensokyo Defenders, the blistering shoot-em-up tower defense game from Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) publishing label UNTIES and developer Neetpia, annihilates enemy threats on Steam today. The Nintendo Switch version simultaneously arms itself with a DLC. Gensokyo Defenders’ base game is 30% off on both platforms to celebrate the Steam launch until 8 May.

The DLC includes three new stages, traps and playable characters: Toyosatomimi no Miko, an immortal hermit and Buddhist saint; Byakuren Hijiri, a peace-loving nun who wields her magic for good; and Yakumo Yukari, who can manipulate boundaries physical and intangible. It costs $6.99 and is available today for both Nintendo Switch and Steam.

Battle through more than 25 stages brimming with enemy hordes trying to destroy the base with bullet showers and catastrophic magic spells. Collect power-ups and place strategic traps including watchtowers equipped with powerful machine guns, deadly spikes and ramps to send enemies running, then conquer 19 bosses. Invite a friend to join the action in online co-op.

Gensokyo Defenders is a fan-made entry in the Touhou Project, recognized by the Guinness World Records as the “most prolific fan-made shooter series.” With 20 playable Touhou witches, each equipped with a personalized set of three abilities, Gensokyo Defenders brings an epic battle to Steam.

Gensokyo Defenders is an action-packed game mixing the best of Touhou Project with a genre new to the franchise: tower defense,” said John Davis, G&R Representative, UNTIES. “Gensokyo Defenders retains the core Touhou fans all know and love: tons of bullets. Now the added layer of strategic gameplay.”

It is now available on Steam for 30% off the regular price of $19.99 USD with English text localization and full audio and text available in Japanese. Nintendo Switch owners can get Gensokyo Defenders for the same price. Both platforms carry the DLC for $6.99.
