SAN JOSÉ, CA – August 14, 2018 – Battle X: Birth of the Alliance, the VR-enabled first-person shooter from the military simulation software veterans at Naviworks, sets its crosshairs on Oculus VR, HTC Vive, and Windows PC via Steam on September 10, 2018, with a PSVR version following in early 2019.
Battle X evolved from the combat simulation technology Naviworks designed to train several of the world’s toughest military units. The team demonstrates an unparalleled level of expertise in realistic, military engagements by way of authentic weapons, tactical gear, vehicles, and innovative dynamic systems that utilize full body movement for taking cover.
Starring everyone’s favorite Starship Trooper, Casper Van Dien, and written by Tomb Raider, Far Cry 2, Gears of War, and BioShock writer Susan O’Connor, Battle X’s single-player campaign chronicles the clandestine mission of an elite special forces unit. Only by defeating a private army of well-outfitted commandos and bio-hacked monstrosities can the team take down a rogue biotech scientist before she can enslave the world with her toxic pathogen.
The single-player campaign isn’t the only way to join the fray. Inspired by real-world military skirmishes, Battle X features eight-on-eight multiplayer “PvP,” a frenzied Couple Mode, where two soldiers can team up to battle wave after wave of mutant armies, and a comprehensive training mode featuring an enormous arsenal of real-world ordinance. Best of all, an 80-player Battle Royale mode comes out Q2 2019!
